I like both of the songs, so I'm anticipating the rest of the album.

QUOTE KATY PERRY: FOUR-LETTER FAREWELL IN HOT ALBUM KATY Perry opens her heart on her brilliant second album Teenage Dreams. Singer Katy Perry admitted to me: “I’ve had a bit of a British influence in my life.” The disc doesn’t drop until Aug ust but I was lucky enough to attend a beach-themed listening party in LA on Wednesday night where KP, 25, talked through most of the finished tunes. I predict songs like Firework and Circle The Drain will be even bigger than her worldwide hits I Kissed A Girl and Hot n Cold. Ex-boyfriend Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes was a fool to let the gorgeous singer slip through his fingers. And the poignant Circle The Drain seems to explain their split. Katy, who performs at the MTV Movie Awards tomorrow, admitted: “People will think it’s about Travis but it could be about many other diff erent situations. “Circle The Drain is intense – it’s my Alanis Morrisette’s You Oughta Know. “It has the F-word in it five times but I don’t think it’s me shocking people – you always say f*** when it’s called for.” Katy added: “Some of the stuff I played tonight is a bit sugary sweet but when you listen to the record head to toe I think it’s completely appetising. I didn’t want to have just club songs. “People are living real lives, working jobs, having relationships. There’s definitely a bit more substance and perspective on this record.” Naturally there’s a bunch of ditties penned with fiancé Russell Brand, 35, in mind. But not the saucy Peacock. Katy grinned: “I’m a big fan of innuendo and puns. Peacock’s fun, but it could be tot ally dirty. A five-year-old could sing it, but your 15-year-old will know what it means. “My Russell songs are more romantic – such as Not Like The Movies. “Sometimes we girls are like: ‘He’s the one,’ but deep down there’s that little scratch. There’s no scratch at this moment, which is fantastic. When you know, you know.” There’s a distinct British feel on a number of the tracks and on Californian Gurls, Katy’s disappointed she was unable to work with our Calvin Harris, 26. She explained: “We tried to work together three or four times but he was busy making his record. “When this record goes triple platinum, knock on wood, then he’ll wish he made the time.” MTV Movie Awards air at 9pm on Monday, MTV UK. FIRST LISTEN HERE’S my track-by-track verdict on Teenage Dream... CALIFORNIA GURLS: Sunny single has already sold a million copies in the US. Expect it to go straight to No 1 here. 5/5 TEENAGE DREAM: Summer in a bottle with a storming pop beat. 5/5 FIREWORK: Katy’s personal favourite. Euphoric and clubby. 5/5 LAST FRIDAY NIGHT: “The dumbest on the record. Waking Up In Vegas 2.0,” says KP. 5/5 CIRCLE THE DRAIN: “I want to be your lover, not your f***ing mother,” she rocks. 5/5 THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY: Marching drums meet pretty nursery rhyme-esqe vocals. 3/5 PEACOCK: Cheeky double entendres and a pulsating house beat make this a hit in waiting. 4/5 PEARL: “She is a pyramid, but with him she’s a grain of sand.” A thoughtful slowie. 3/5 NOT LIKE THE MOVIES: A piano-driven ballad where Katy sings her pipes out. 3/5 Uber excited |

Why are so many people releasing 9 track albums atm? No wonder the album market is so low when people are paying full price for 9/10 songs :/
I do like the sound of all of these tracks though and will certainly be parting with my hard earned cash to buy it |

“I want to be your lover, not your f***ing mother,”
EPIC. Disappointed at only 9 tracks too, though. |

So 'In Between' and E.T are not included? Unless the names have been changed...

I think its just a sampler played at an event
As it's not released until August, I'd presume their still working on it? |

I'll also be rather annoyed if it's a 9-tracker.
E.T. has to be on there!! |

Of course it's not a 9 track album. She's still in the studio for starters and full albums are never played at listening events.

Live on "Le Grand Journal" from yesterday, it starts at about 2:30. She has never looked that sexy The dress... I'm so addicted to the song. |

I am guessing her appearance as a guest judge on The X Factor will coincide with the albums release. If so, this may help boost sales further

Katy is set release album teasers and a new single from the album.
QUOTE Katy Perry has insisted that fans will hear more songs from her new album before it is officially released. Perry, whose new single 'California Gurls' is out this week, is planning for her fans to hear more material including the next single from the record, called Teenage Dream, before its available. "We will have another single out really soon," she told KIIS-FM. "Before the album comes out, I think a lot people will be hearing a lot of different songs - it won't just be one song to tide you over until then because it seems a little far away for me actually. I mean the whole world could explode before then." The 'Hot n Cold' singer also admitted that she is surprised at how quickly time has passed since the release of her last album. She explained: "I didn't think it would happen so quick - I was getting used to nine hours of sleep and maybe eating stuff I shouldn't be eating. But they woke me up and said, 'It's time to be a popstar again' - I said this is never going to stop until I die in 2012. "This record will probably hopefully take me on a fantastic tour and two years later I'll be ready to start a new one - there are already plans for tour dates." So excited to hear more stuff. |
