After it really hit me this week and racked up (raked up?) a bunch of plays, Minaj's Chun-Li surges to the top to become the Queen of Rap's third chart topper for me, knocking off fellow rapper Azealia Banks. Lily Allen moves 'Higher' again this week to reach a new peak of #2 with slowburn second single/IG from her upcoming 2018 album, while Jorja Smith and Ariana Grande move into the top 5; it's Jorja's first visit this high and Ari's sixth, the first since Everyday (with Future) hit the same peak around this time last year.

My BJSC entry this month from EZI is this week's highest debut, charging straight in to the top ten at #8. It's a lowkey offering for Jupiterdonia but hopefully will still pick up a few fans. Other high new entries in the top 20 come from newish pop-R&B act King Princess, and another strong debut from Sean Paul, mounting another successful chart comeback 15 years into his career. Gwan!

Additional new entries this week come from Tinashe, Christina Aguilera, Inna, Post Malone, Mahalia, Frances, Vic Mensa, Wet, King Henry, and the track that didn't make my BJSC pick this month, Money by HOUSE OF SAY. But that's not saying I'll never send it! Let me know what you think wink.gif
I'll link the videos to those a bit later in the week to save you having to imagine what they sound like biggrin.gif

If you can't wait of course, feel free to check out my (linked) spotify playlists at the bottom of this post where you'll find them and a bunch of other great tracks wink.gif

Thanks for commenting, Sergej! Happy to share new music biggrin.gif

And here are the new entries! We're splitting by genre this week:

First up, R&B bloc!

Vic Mensa gets a chart debut lifted from debut full-length studio album The Autobiography, it's his first charter for me after a few near misses with Kanye and Flume. Tinashe's Faded Love becomes her third charter from Joyride, while Sean Paul scores a third consecutive top 20 with Major Lazer collab Tip Pon It. Nicki also lands a latest chart hit alongside Post Malone, already into the top 30, while Mahalia finally lands one too after a few near misses, here as a feature.

Three newies in pop this month too; Christina Aguilera's Accelerate is a welcome chart return and will surely be at least top ten at some point, debuting strongly after just one week. Talia by King Princess also had a big surge this week, while Inna lands just outside the top 20 with Romanian-language midtempo ballad Pentru Ca, a slight soundshift from her usual upbeat bangers.

And this week closes out with another large indie bloc! Down at the bottom end of proceedings, Wet make a two-years-later chart return with Softens; in 2016, they landed two top 20s. King Henry debuts, while Frances and Ritual's collab lands the artists involved a second and fifth charter respectively. Finally, EZI debuts right in the top 10 while the potential BJSC entry I didn't choose this month from HOUSE OF SAY lands at a more modest #32. Good shout perhaps?

As ever, comments or thoughts on any of the tunes or chart in general are welcome, folks!

Hi Jupiter!

Nice to see Dancing in a Room so high - a great entry, hope it does well! (I mean, I could probably work out whether it has or not but I'm still tapping votes into spreadsheets atm tongue.gif )

Not really getting Talia unfortunately, I quite liked 1950 but this one just seems a little weird.

I think I heard Tip Pon It a couple of weeks ago - is that the one with all the giant ladies in the video? It was alright, not amazing but not bad either

Great chart biggrin.gif
