Exciting! I've missed Paloma

Also she needs to strike while Adele is still on break laugh.gif

good that she's back, she never disappoints (except that Jonas Blue collab)

Can’t wait for some new Paloma, she just gets better and better for me.

Always here for some more Paloma! wub.gif

Yay, I was just thinking the other day it's been a while since new Paloma cheeseblock.png She always delivers with the leads but hopefully there's a bit less filler on the album this time. I love her regardless, she was A political queen when I saw her live *.*

coming back after The Voice kids is quite a smart move!

I own all her albums so I’m intrigued at the direction of this one and I’m looking forward to it as well.

Hopefully she’ll have another successful era on her hands. Her albums have always sold well in the past.

It's very impressive how well she has done, who would have thought when Stone Cold Sober was released she would still be around 11 years later with 4 platinum album under her belt!? She basically outlasted everyone who came out around the same time as her, and yet, it still feels like so is a bit underrated from time to time. Maybe because she hasn't had that many hit singles and is more of an album seller.

Posted by: LJ JORD 7 31st August 2020, 07:12 PM

Yeah! That’s a good point actually I mean there’s a few females who had bigger “peak” eras like Duffy, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding for instance but Paloma managed to sustain her success to get her first three albums to all pass 600K sales then finally got her #1 album with her most recent album which managed to to platinum. She does feel underrated despite her huge success albums wise she’s kinda like an underdog.

I hope she can get her lead single to to top 75 on the charts but I’d say the album will likely be where she’ll excel. She’s the type who’ll do well on pure sales but she’s also a strong promoter too.

Posted by: JosephStyles 31st August 2020, 07:15 PM

Paloma consistently brings it, so I'm really excited for this. The Architect was a really strong album!

In a way she’s been very comparable to Pink in this record. Consistent but overlooked.

I have all of her albums and will very likely get this one too!

You get the impression she is underrated just because she is a local act. She has never made it in America or even in Europe. Her success is very much limited to the UK.

Some of her albums had a "soft" release (in her own words) in the US and two made the Billboard Top 200, so while she has never been successful over there, she did shift some records. Interesting enough, she recently told that she was flown over to the US (during the Only Love Could Hurt Live This era), had a meeting with a record company that wanted to put a lot of money behind her to 'make it over there'. The had one demand- she had to reshoot the video with a white lead (instead of the black guy who appears in the video), which she refused and then she never heard anything back.

Posted by: Voodoo 1st September 2020, 06:59 AM

^ She was signed to Epic Records in the USA. If I recall correctly, LA Reid was the head of the label at the time, so it's weird of him to demand such a thing.

If Adele can have a black love interest in her comeback music video, then why can't Paloma?

She did say it was a black label head who told her this, so could indeed be LA Reid. Strange indeed, but I think this is how the industry still works (sadly..).

I think the difference is that Adele already was a household name and also featured a kind-of-known man in her video, which could give it some more attention..

She has now revealed on Instagram this will premiere tomorrow! She is doing a Kylie.

I am excited! I love a bit of Paloma.

One of my housemates is a mega fan, so I can expect to hear him singing it in the shower for quite some time.

Posted by: Simon. 3rd September 2020, 06:57 AM

Not bad at all on first listen!

Posted by: Bjork 3rd September 2020, 07:03 AM

nice enough

Posted by: lewistgreen 3rd September 2020, 08:13 AM

This is great! Her voice is stunning on it

Posted by: WinterFreeze 3rd September 2020, 09:14 AM

I’m really enjoying this, it’s very good.

I’ve spent the last two days listening to her back catalogue and I must say I thi k she’s my favourite artist.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 3rd September 2020, 01:02 PM

This is stunning. wub.gif

Posted by: JosephStyles 3rd September 2020, 05:01 PM

Love it!! So good to have her back.

Posted by: Andrew. 3rd September 2020, 05:08 PM

wub.gif wub.gif Instantly her 2nd best lead!

Posted by: .MIKE. 4th September 2020, 05:51 AM

So instant for me. Easily her best lead since ‘Picking Up The Pieces’
I’ve loved every album and was worried that she might finally release a dud.. but this has given me hope. How could I ever doubt her!

Posted by: Cameron 4th September 2020, 06:04 AM

I found this quite meh on first listen. 😭

Posted by: slowdown73 4th September 2020, 07:23 AM

Very strong new song. Love it!

Posted by: HarryEzra 4th September 2020, 01:05 PM

I feel like this will be my least fave lead single from her, its still good but I dont see it connecting with me like the others.

Posted by: Parallel Reality 8th September 2020, 08:32 PM

I love this! Very instant and powerful, but she always delivers for me. It sounds like a song that contestants will sing on the final of talent shows. Can’t wait to see what the album has in store, I’ve loved all her lead singles!

For me:

Stone Cold Sober
Better Than This
Crybaby
(Loyal)
Picking Up The Pieces
Can’t Rely on You
(Ready for The Good Life)

But I love all of them!

Posted by: J00psyMethyd 8th September 2020, 08:48 PM

This is a 10/10 for me

Posted by: WinterFreeze 8th September 2020, 09:36 PM

Her lead singles are great, in fact most of them are. There’s only a few changes I’d make.

My rank if the lead singles is:

For me:

Picking Up The Pieces
Stone Cold Sober
Better Than This
Crybaby
(Loyal)
Can’t Rely on You
(Ready for The Good Life)

Picking Up The Pieces I would be in my top three Paloma tracks.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 11th September 2020, 08:00 PM

Is that a wig?

Posted by: M4NGO 11th September 2020, 11:35 PM

Awful wig, awful video. That nosebleed bit is so cringe. It's still a great song though!

Posted by: Brightest Blue 12th September 2020, 10:52 AM

That’s got to be the worst wig I’ve ever seen in my life

Posted by: jlj 24th September 2020, 07:54 PM

The song itself is great but the wig!!!

Paloma is also pregnant again wub.gif and we’re still getting album 5 too!

Looking forward to the album. I didn’t realise this baby will be her third. I thought it was her second.

But she regards the album as the third baby after her two actual ones.

It’s not her second pregnancy however, I believe she miscarried last year so I hope all goes well with this one.

There is a signed CD and another CD on Amazon. Signed is £9.99 and the other £10.99. What is the difference? Is one a deluxe edition?
