One of her producers accidentally posted the tracklisting for Avril's upcoming album earlier
Will copy all of them in a bit, but there are features from Machine Gun Kelly, Marshmello and Mod Sun!
Ooooh, 'Head Above Water' off of the last one was incredible. Something as good as that pls!
Good to see this confirmed, it will be a pop-punk album!

The guy tagged is John Feldmann of Goldfinger who has also produced recently for the likes of blink-182, State Champs, Korn and The Hunna!
Really excited for this
jesus christ i can't wait
she has had to reschedule her tour 3 times in the UK !!
Excited! I really enjoyed her last few albums so I hope this one is no different!
Anyone think she could even make a mini-comeback with this album? Perhaps playing off of nostalgia.
It's completed! Hopefully the lead single is out soon
i kindah hope she keeps her christian pop vibe but moves over to a much more rounded AC kinda vibe... though if those song titles are true... it feels like a BDT part 2 'Love Sux'.
i kinda like 'flame' but i really love the idea of her doing a record in the vein of 'goodbye'. What let HAW down was its lack of hooks in a lot of areas but all in all a good album. Her self-titled remains my fave.
No ballads!
Damn. Love a good avril ballad. especially the ones in here pop punk era.
me too, think all my fav songs of hers are ballads
Her ballads are fantastic, shame there's not even one on here.
Really is a shame because songs like My Happy Ending and Nobody’s Home are her best work. Thought she’d take some inspiration and do something along those lines.
Exciting!
^that just proves that she shouldn't give up on ballads!!
Brilliant performance!
Avril has signed to Travis Barker's DTA Records, with the lead single from her album out next week!
I wonder how much of that leaked tracklist of the album from back in January will remain.
She's performing on The Late Late Show with Travis on Nov 10th, so expect it to be released before then!
"Bite Me" out Wednesday at noon ET / 5pm. GMT.
Please tell me Marshmello is no longer involved in it.
The snippet sounds great. I hope she has a sort of mini comeback with this album!
Yeah I'm loving the sound of that!
the snippet sounds fantastic, i’m absolutely here for Avril. Even on her weakest albums I find so much to enjoy.
Out at 5pm GMT tomorrow!
i'm v. excited for this
Oh I love this! A classic Avril sound, this would fit in nicely on The Best Damn Thing (throwback to 2007!) but it also has a fresh vibe somehow. I'm eagerly anticipating more.
Her best for me since Under My Skin, I can’t even lie.
Her best lead single since Girlfriend. What a tune! I think her vocals are perhaps a little too auto tuned but I can get past that, this is a banger. It reminds me a little of a b-side from The Best Damn Thing called Alone.
Obsessed!
Her best lead single since 'Girlfriend'???? What rubbish... did you not hear 'What The Hell' and 'Here's To Never Growing Up'. Both better than 'Girlfriend'.
This song is fab though.
Co-written with MOD SUN, John Feldmann (of Goldfinger/seems to write with every pop-punk revival artist), Omer Fedi (also writing with every pop-punk revival artist) and Marshmello. Produced by Travis Barker and MOD SUN.
Looking forward to checking it out!
Oh yes, very classic Avril. I am very much digging it!
Yeah I like this.
Back to what she does best
loving it on first listen, can see me playing this a lot !
The "heyyyy yoooouuu" bits go right through me, she sounds awful on those bits.
Live performance w/ Travis Barker:
She's one artist I'm happy to never have any artist progression, there's something weirdly comforting about having her still around doing bratty pop-punk songs and Bite Me is fantastic!
Avril found the fountain of youth. It's her best song since "Hot".
Sounds like the recent WILLOW singles (not surprising, given this is also a Travis Barker production...)
If WILLOW and Olivia can get hits with this sort of stuff... Please say Avril can FINALLY get another?
Do we know how it’s doing on streaming yet?
Debuted at #73 on Spotify for Thursday, and down to #105 for yesterday (which is actually pretty phenomenal considering the onslaught of Taylor Swift ahead of it)
oh thats very good, she actually increased streams
#105 is really impressive consdering the Taylor/Silk Sonic debuts (39 tracks ahead of her). If it wasn't for new releases, she would've climbed I assume a lot of Taylor's tracks will collapse tomorrow, so hopefully it rises a decent amount!
Like this track. Hard to believe she’s 37 now!
Is this in ‘pop’ because it’s pop-punk? Would I find new Blink182, NFG etc singles here as well?
Surely it’s rock, as is most guitar based music.
Rock. lol
Her music for the last 10 years or so has all been pop, so it's just easier to keep artists' threads in the same forum
Loving this! Feels like the most inspired I’ve heard her in a long time, Head Above Water was a decent album but a bit dull overall. I wish she released this in a less competitive month. What are the chances Radio 1 give this a spot? Highly doubt it but I don’t see why they shouldn’t
Obsessed with this - streaming on repeat, this is the kind of music we’ve waited for Avril to return to for the past 10+ years
its 100% pop
Ugh, this is another flop isn't it? Such a shame.
Not top 200 on any major Spotify charts after a week...
yeah i don't think this is meant to even be a proper single? mid week release, out of the blue... a buzz single for sure.
Hmmm, I'm not sure about classifying it a buzz single. It's not like she can get hits anymore, so I'd say this has done pretty well for her considering?
It obviously isn't a buzz single - Head Above Water was a midweek release too and this managed to chart higher. Her hit-making days are, generally speaking, in the past, so this did perfectly fine in getting a higher peak.
Was anyone really seriously expecting an Avril Lavigne single in 2021 to debut higher than #61…?
I think she has a shot at getting another decent sized hit given the current popularity of pop punk but it wouldn't come from 'omg a brand new Avril song, got to stream that right away', it'd come from her getting lucky with something getting big on TikTok which doesn't usually happen immediately.
i only call it a buzz single because it was released kinda out of nowhere and we have no idea when the albums coming.
ATRL is saying that the album will also be titled 'Bite Me', and will be released in February! The second single is expected next month, and this will be the tracklisting: (but not necessarily in this order)
1. Bite Me
2. Bois Lie (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)
3. Cannonball
4. F.U.
5. Love Sux
6. Dare You to Love Me
7. Kiss Me Like the World is Ending
8. Avalanche
9. Break of a Heart
10. Love it When you Hate Me (feat. blackbear)
11. Deja Vu
12. Mark’s Song (feat. Mark Hoppus)
Why blackbear tho
He's done quite a few pop-punk features (including probably the biggest pop-punk song in years, "my ex's best friend") - and has his own album with Travis Barker out next year!
That's a very predictable and uninspiring selection of features but Bite Me the song is great so I have high hopes for the album.
The album is actually called Love Sux and it's slated to be released on February 25. The tracklist is written below.
1. Cannonball
2. Bois Lie (feat. Machine Gun Kelly)
3. Bite Me
4. Love It When You Hate Me (feat. blackbear)
5. Love Sux
6. Kiss Me Like The World Is Ending
7. Avalanche
8. Déjà vu
9. F.U.
10. All I Wanted (feat. Mark Hoppus)
11. Dare To Love Me
12. Break Of A Heartache
Ah good to have confirmation, can't wait!
I have reservations of the title and the spelling of 'Bois' makes my eyes roll a little, but nevertheless I am very excited - I still love Bite Me.
Hopefully the tour doesn't get pushed back again too, will be great to hear the new stuff live so soon after the album release.
I hope this is in the style and sound of Hello Kitty.
They changed the album name from 'Bite Me' to 'Love Sux'...
The second single is out this week!!
Preview:
The album has now also been officially announced with a longer preview of the new song
it sounds very TBDT to me...
I absolutely love the cover
The new single is #3 on NMF Australia/New Zealand! Hopefully it gets a similar treatment over here.
I love this, she genuinely can’t do any wrong for me this era.
Hmm, not sure on this. Was hoping for a song with a better melody and not keen on the feature. Excited for the album though!
Back to early 2000s anti-Britney pop lol. No thanks. More modern dubstep international Hello Kitty, less of this!
"Modern dubstep" for a very brief trend that died out a decade ago. Good one
Everybody knows 'Hello Kitty' was a complete embarrassment.
It's the near 30 year old woman singing "mom's not home tonight, we can roll around and have a pillow fight..." for me.
i think 'hello kitty' was meant to be a bit of on-the-nose fun
She must have been sat on this album for a while, the leaked tracklist from Jan 21 is very similar to the official one.
I just noticed looking back to page 1 of this thread.
The new song is decent, but no 'Bite Me' by a long stretch.
Why Blackbear of all people though?
Why didn't she come back with this sort of stuff in 2009-2010!?
In my opinion both songs are really dated and not that great, not in a way that Olivia....or even GAYLE has elevated to a new audience. Not sure if I get the hype!
tbh i dunno why people think this is any different to her 2013 album?
The new song "love it when you hate me" is so catchy, so early 00's female pop rock it's delightful.
Although, I am not going to lie, until this duet I had never heard of Blackbear... do I want to hear more?
hes on ellie goulding's criminally underrated 'worry about me'
This album is such a rush. Literally everything I want from Avril in 2022.
Really enjoying this, some killer tunes in here! Loving the Sum 41/Blink vibes.
Avalanche is a highlight.
This album is bringing me a source of joy this morning. She is 37 going on 16 and I sincerely hope that never changes. 🤩
I’m not sure about anybody else but I wasn’t expecting the opening line/scream at 6:30am this morning but on my listen. 😂
Really impressed with this.
FU and Bois Lie are great
Love the album!
The album is great. I hope it will do well and that one of the songs becomes a hit/goes viral on Tiktok.
It's her most criticallly acclaimed album so far as well!
She will easily go top 10 I think and possibly top 5.
its weird i'm seeing people complain there's not enough ballads on the album and then saying her last album was boring (as it had too many ballads on it???)
Seeing mostly positives for this album, which is nice.
Am I being too optimistic hoping for it to be top 5?
As I posted that, midweeks have it at #3 with 8/10 of the top 10 being new entries so it could definitely hold up for a top 5.
Yay
I haven’t stopped playing this album since it was released, really strong effort, I’m so happy!
Massive return to form for her! I love it
I'm so happy it looks like her collab with WILLOW persuaded her to come back with this sound. Welcome back Ms. Lavigne. Her best album since 'The Best Damn Thing', for sure!
Shame it doesn't have a Hello, Kitty!!, but this sound is what she should have stuck with all along, just like Lily Allen has always stook with left field Britpop.
I really love 'Avalanche'. It's a bit more "depressive" in tone than everything up to that point on the album, but it makes a welcome change of pace just as everything starts to get a little samey.
The album is good but a bit too samey. I don't need a ballad but one or two mid-tempos would really have helped the overall pacing.
Having now given the album a couple of spins, I agree with the comments that it all sounds a bit samey. 'Dare To Love Me' is the closest thing to a ballad, she definitely should have included a couple more slowies. I quite like about half the songs on it (including the two singles which are great) but the other half are pretty forgettable and seemed to blend into one another. Overall I preferred her previous album which at least showed progression.
Just gave the album a spin and one thing I couldn't shake was how much the instrumental of 'F.U.' was reminding me of Paramore's 'Misery Business'! Watch out Avril
I think my favourite album tracks on first listen are 'Cannonball' (what a rush of an opener *.*) and 'Dare To Love Me'.
Charted at 3 this week, which is great!
Her highest charting album since 2007!
A ‘Bois Lie’ video is coming next week!
Deluxe out 25th Nov with I’m a Mess, Mercury in Retrograde & acoustic versions of singles. I’m a Mess is also out now.
It looks like there’s more pop-punk Avril on the way as she features on her boyfriend MOD SUN’s new album ‘God Save the Teen’, out on Feb 3rd. They previously collaborated on ‘Flames’.
Here it is!
Avril was on great form last night at Alexandra Palace. Setlist could be a bit longer but it didn't really matter once I was there, full of hits, great atmosphere, loads of energy and her voice was in great form. I'm going again tonight for the last night of the tour!
Can’t make it tonight and Avril’s team have blocked ticket transfers when selling them at face value via Twickets or Ticketmaster resale - really helpful, it’s like they want fans to pay over the odds!
OMG the concert entry was a shambles last night! A total embarrassment for all partys involved!!
I did have a good time once the show started!!
They must of come up with a better system tonight!!
I'm going again tonight too and I did hear the paper tickets was a bit of a shambles even though Ticketmaster said they are fine and I'm a bit worried about it too... oh well, lets see what happens.
