Hope I can do okay here. I love 'Elevator' (took me a while to *really* get into it though), I was a bit disappointed when I noticed that on plug, a Soundcloud version of it was played instead of the one with the video (the video elevates it )

Hi - Pete here!

I decided to experiment with a different way in deciding which songs to vote. Basically, I began by listening to the first 12 songs on the running order. I then deleted my least favourite, added the next song on the list and repeated until all the songs had been listened to and I had 10 songs left. I also made sure the newest song was never the song that was removed.

I compiled the results into a handy spreadsheet as follows:



Note: When I first heard Waves I was confident it would be the first off, but it really grew on me!

Congrats Math! One of the best tracks there and thanks for hosting, especially for putting effort in to try and make the scoreboards.

I'm a little disappointed with how I did honestly, I don't think I got anything higher than a 6 and I really thought this one was (finally) the sort of thing that does well here, because it should be like wide-appealing amazing symphonic rock that gets all the 12s but maybe I... I'm never gonna convert you all to the joys of hardness am I?

My first entry is still my fave by far but I do really love the next 5 still as well ('supercell' was a song I had as a strong potential for BJSC at one point but ultimately kept delaying it too much so just decided to send it here instead... based on this result it would have bombed horrendously in BJSC so a good choice I guess!), I don't really even remember the last two that well though oops. Also, of course my top 4 are all of my instrumental / foreign language entries lol.

Thanks to Iz for my second 12 (clearly my main aim with this entry lmao) and congrats to Math on the win, kind of weird and disappointing results tbh but ah well (edit: actually that's only really the top 2 which are both songs that did nothing for me (in fact they were both in my bottom 3 with 'Waves' ranked last oops), the next few songs after that are all ones I voted for so not too bad I guess).

I love the first four, the next ones I don't go back to much, they were more entries I sent just for how strikingly standout they were (and ofc. far too niche, we need more fans of nine minute atmospheric black metal).

Probably my most ~experimental~ back catalogue of entries as that's the sort of guitar music I prefer these days, but most of them are keepers. I think I'm finding my niche in here, took a long time after my 2nd place in the first edition for me to get any success in here.

Probably be the last one of these I enter. There was only 2 songs that I'd not instantly delete, quality was worse than BJSC and I stopped partaking in that because I found too much of it was awful. Taste clearly getting further apart from the site, no longer discovering anything worth listening to and not like I'm introducing something to anyone else either. I didn't even like the song I gave 12 points too particularly, it just got it because it was loads more interesting to listen to than anything else.

That's a shame you feel that way, tbh I think it was just a case of a bad contest as if you look at the last contest or two, the quality was a lot better, at least I think so. I hope you'll change your mind when the next UP or Nuggets comes around x
