I'd pretend to be shocked, but really I'm not at all. For the third year in a row, the third heat was the most heartbreaking of them all - 2013 brought us the stillbirth of Janet Leon's disco wigout and Amanda Fondell's post-Idol career; 2014 brought the final demise of Shirley Clamp and Alban och Folcker; 2015 brought pure pop injustice, as Ellen Benediktson made a run from acoustic borepop to threatening electro slutpop and was exterminated at the hands of the KKK and 'tonight Matthew, I'm doing Shake It Off!'. Still, the 17 year olds among us probably made it three for three on perfect results this year - but oh, how I'm mourning for that corset.
So loves, we're pulling into the end of MF 2015. Christ that was quick. I have to say, so far I'm not totally bowled over by this year - the results have generally seen the best of a mediocre bunch get through - but for my PINK POUND we've got a few all-time classics already, and lord knows we've needed a final as good as the one we've got waiting for us next month for a while now. That said, the line-up we've got this week could pretty much make or break the year as a whole, and the descriptions we've got already promise the best one out of the four we've had, so I've got my CUNT CROSSED loves - and that ISN'T just for the two contestants I've had my hopes staked on for a good three months now. LET US MINCE

Send an URGENT TELEGRAM to your 80s queens - we've GOT AN 80s QUEEN
The first slot of the fourth heat has become something of a TRADITIONAL SLOT in the last five contests, each time going to a RENOWNED act pleasing queens the wrong side of 40, and until last year each time BREAKING THE HEARTS of queens the wrong side of 40. Charlotte Perrelli, Army of Lovers, Melody Club - all acts huge in their time, brought low by the vagaries of lyrical recall, homophobia, or an unforgiving Swedish voting public (mostly the latter, but I cling to the former).
UNTIL LAST YEAR. Alcazar DESCENDED STAGE DISCOBALL, doubted even by MY FAIR SELF, and single-handedly rewrote the rule book, defying the norm of introducing heat four with failure and rollicking the ingénues following them to win the heat with gusto with their reheated gaypop. So with the curse lifted, and for the first time since MF was revamped, we're opening with a DÉBUTANTE - albeit one playing to the EXACT same audience as all the others *.*
Until now Midnight Boy's been a very underground type act, being known (if at all) for lobbing his widge out in public in music videos with pretty left-field electropop accompanying LA VISAGE (the electropop has invariably been better than said widge, but god loves a trier). Okay, he looks a bit like Ed Balls has gone (and lost) twenty rounds with a bottle of bleach and a hairdryer, but who gives a f*** if he looks like a bulldog if the music is potentially that good? And CHRIST KNOWS Boy George wasn't much of a looker either
Anyway, queeny old Boy here's fronting a HERITAGE track written by some top-notch producers (including one of Melody Club), and the word is that even though this bitch has only got love from Calvin Harris rather than living through it the first time round (not that you'd know from the WITHERED FACE), he's paying full tribute to the decade he was born in with a DEAD OR ALIVE pastiche. Hold on to the railings loves - it's either going direkt or failing miserably, but either way we're in for a SHOW TO REMEMBER *.*

Picture the scene. Heat 4, Melodifestivalen 2005. Going by the typical Buzzjack MF-watching demographic, you're either closeted in your early teens or not alive yet, but we'll ignore that for now. You've just been exposed to such marvels as Anne-Lie Rydé's FORTY FOOT FEATHER BOA OF SHAME and Mathias Holmgren and Rickard Engfors powering the entire 2005 Atlantic hurricane season with toxic levels of onstage homosexuality, before needing a cigarette after Nanne Grönvall basically reinvented entire notions of what rock could DO AND MEAN at Melodifestivalen, holding out an olive branch from the genre to a whole generation of Swedish homosexuals who would later go on to be betrayed by the likes of, well, Neverstore.
But WAIT, RUSH BACK IN from that cigarette loves, some 19 year old Brazilian black girl who just won STARS IN THEIR EYES as an Ella Fitzgerald impersonator is ABOUT TO ENTER MELODIFESTIVALEN
And HERE SHE DESCENDS TO SAVE US ALL WITH A POP BANGER
Oh. What the FUCK WAS THAT?!
And not only that, it WENT TO THE FINAL AND FINISHED THIRD ON TELEVOTES. And it was the worst of all worlds: not only did it do so WELL, it also didn't do WELL ENOUGH - a mere 4,000 votes more and it would've overtaken Martin Stenmarck on televotes, robbing him of 22 points and sending OUR GRAND MILITANT SCHLAGER DAME Nanne to Kiev for that year's Eurovision. I'm eternally grateful I wasn't following Melodifestivalen at the time, because I reckon I'd have been put off RIGHT THERE AND THEN
Okay, I've kind of come around to A Different Kind of Love in the meantime - it's almost ENTRANCINGLY vile in how uncompromising it is, but I can't exactly say OLD CAZ has been on my wishlist for returnees. Anyway, ten years on (and not even in her THIRTIES YET!) old Cazza here is back with something she's probably been submitting to the MF entry juries every year since 2007 (although I can't deny the title doesn't have me giggling like a schoolgirl *Caroline enters stage to deliver three minute bossa nova psychological thriller as ballerina*). Pretty much every veteran MF queen will be left ASTOUNDED if this is fabulous, so it's pretty much a no-lose entry - if it's dreadful, we all saw it coming, and if it's fabulous it's probably the making of a terrific heat. Let's not get our hopes up TOO MUCH (though I'm looking forward to doing this in drag to troll my Svenska queens at the Duke of York).

Dansband (the melodic country/rock n roll hybrid precursor to the schlager genre) is another of the pillars this dear contest was built on over the last sixty years, albeit one which hasn't had a great deal of success recently. With the exception of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0b5lQgQJ7g, since Thorleifs went out in 2009's andra chansen with balls-out dansband romp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjksCGW7fuc it's been a proper drought for the genre in terms of both entries AND success. Hasse here's planning to change that, hooking up with the writer behind Insomnia (!) to make a comeback as the DANSBAND SAVIOUR, having in his time scored massive hits with, amongst other things, songs about his http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc1tvdanJPs (!!). I'd probably be on board if this were by a woman, but as it goes your mileage may vary. Can Hasse join the veterans revival so far this year?

I'm sorry bitches, but you should ALL KNOW that if there's one thing that'll get me A'FOAMIN' AT THE GUSSET, it's a GERIATRIC OLD MOO popping it and locking it (and by 'it' I mean her hip socket) with the best of the teen bitches to some PRIME SLUTPOP. And if there's ONE THING that's got me A'FOAMIN' at aforementioned GUSSET, it's QUEEN DINAH NAH (pronounced as three syllables: DEE/NAH/NAH - substitute as appropriate QUEENAH NAH).
There's only so much my evangelism and hyperbole can say. I'll let the following two videos SPEAK THE FAITH:
Apart from the joys of a 47 year old who looks like Nicola Sturgeon as envisaged by a Drag Race contestant GOING EGYPTIAN and donning a hugely unflattering black wig, along with the joys of a total nobody embarking on a SERIOUS MISSION of self-promotion to get people to learn her nonsensical/iconic name by dropping it at every moment in her tracks, the music is DROP DEAD FUCKING FABULOUS in all its B-rate 2004 Europop glory.
This is the shit I live for from Melodifestivalen kids, and if that wasn't all then QUEENAH has roped in last year's KING OF ROPE - the one and only DOCTOR ALBAN (medical accreditation uncertain but I would allow him to operate on me out of SHEER FAITH) - and the writers behind Bedroom last year. She's bringing the HARD CLUB track that's going to have me losing my shit like I've been at a G party for 72 hours solid, and frankly I can't envisage a place where this will finish on Saturday that would make it anything other than instantly iconic - direkt, AC, busting or dead last will all feel deeply appropriate for this, and even sixth will have enough of a note of 'well, you tried' tragedy to send Queenah into my heart for eternity. Can we even dare to hope Dinah Nah will survive to drop her name again past this week?
06: Annika Herlitz - Ett andetag

The rumours of a Charlotte Perrelli return were SADLY OVERBLOWN, but thankfully for our luck OLD ANNIE HAIRLIP here's bringing Charl's face along for the ride.
Annika here was the voice of Elsa in the Swedish redub of Frozen last year. Yep - you know exactly what you're getting here. The only question will be whether the musical theatre/schlager ballad formula works as well onstage as it does in the most successful animated musical of all-time, although lord knows Annika will be starting out with a hell of a lot of goodwill anyway. Vox is the order of the day - she's also starred alongside Charlotte in the stage version of Evita in Sweden, so she's got the chops that should ensure a crowd-pleasing performance. Is it enough for direkt, or will Annika be screaming the house down next week opposite Kristin?
07: Måns Zelmerlöw - Heroes

Team Otter: it's time.
The pimp slot of the entire contest has been much abused in the last six contests. Since Malena's triumph in 2009 with the sanity-defying schlager-opera anthem that was La voix, each subsequent year has seen Christer's favourite plonked in the final slot of Melodifestivalen only to drown in its overblown hubris. Peter Jöback whining through ten key changes of musical theatre pastiche; Love Generation alienating a nation as a group of nobodies on a RedOne knock-out; Danny Saucedo recycling Without You a year too late; Ulrik Munther oddly going on to be more of an inspiration than the track ever warranted with overblown faux-epic Tell The World I'm Here; Anton Ewald justly embarrassing himself in front of a nation with gospel-EDM bast*rd Natural: each in their own way a track that made total sense as the show-stopper of each year's Melfest, yet in the same way felt bizarrely disappointing and totally unworthy of victory compared with the majesty of curtain-closers of years past: stand up La Voix, Evighet, and of course, Hero.
In a year that feels like the first clawback for the Melodifestivalen veteran in a very, very long time, it's only appropriate that this year's show-closer should go to one of the contestants who perfectly blends the mix of the contest's old and new in a way only his closest rival this year, Eric Saade, has matched since: Måns Zelmerlöw.
I don't really need to explain Måns' appeal that much: it's telling that despite him totally predating Buzzjack's mass interest in Melodifestivalen, his two MF entries both made it to the final of Super Melodifestivalen last year on this forum with relatively little effort, but I'll give you a bit of backstory anyway.
Fresh from a successful stint on Idol 2006, Måns' first attempt at MF stardom coincided with Fredrik Kempe concluding that as a bald, overweight man in his forties, his dream of going to Eurovision as a star solo act in his own right was pretty unrealistic (not that it stopped Roger Pontare, but that kind of act was never really Kempe's forté). So, he turned his talent for pop songwriting to the most successful formula Melodifestivalen has ever seen, and pretty much the only one that is a guarantee in every year since it was conceived - the schlager twink fronting a devastatingly simple pop track written by Kempe, each with a knockout hook and inevitably in the top five of each given MF year. Legal restrictions forbid me to explain any further what went on behind the scenes, but years of therapy and deadened eyes have been worth it for hours of last.fm playcounts and the odd Eurovision third place finish/andra chansen for Kempe's chosen boys.
And Måns was the first to lay down the template, with absolute max track Cara mia - which finished third and went on to be the breakout pop hit of MF 2007, setting things up for an inevitable comeback with a killer mix of boy next door good looks, obvious star quality, clear performing chops and superb material. Måns didn't quite manage to win the fight the following year to front Kempe's crowning glory Hero (and we should be thankful - competent he may be, but no way in hell would Måns have managed to nail the money note or the sheer do-or-die desperation that Charlotte's reading brought to the greatest pop track of all time), but his hugely anticipated comeback with Hero rewrite Hope and Glory in 2009 entered the contest as the initial prohibitive favourite. And you can see why - an extra two years of stage experience had transformed Måns into Sweden's pre-eminent pop performer. Six years on, I imagine the way his perf leaves me must be how all those 14 year old girls feel watching Linus Svenning - a mix of awe, thrill, and a general sense that he frankly needs to be giving me his children this damned instant (the second chorus with the co-ordinated choreography with the BEVY OF WHORES still ranks as one of my favourite MF moments of all time).
However, despite storming the heat and the jury vote in the final, the public didn't quite get on board (the Hero comparisons probably rang a little too true), and poor Måns went out fifth in the televote and birthed one of the all-time great FACES OF HATE at having a big career setback in front of a viewing audience of 4 million (with love to ADAM for sourcing the following)
So, Måns has been out of the pop game for a while, but he's still kept up appearances - hosting MF in 2010 and various summer music festivals in Sweden in the years since, getting his arse out for QX Gay-galan last year to make amends for a mild homophobia scandal (HOW COULD YOU MÅNS) and a flop EP. So, to truly make penance for his sins and his flops, he's re-entered the contest that made his name.
He isn't back with schlager. But as one of the great performers of the MF stage, that doesn't matter too much. We're due a cross between Avicii, Guetta, and Tell The World I'm Here (yep, again). It sounds like it's going to be a repeat of every show-closer for the last three years - but I'm holding out hope for Team Otter, because if there's anyone who can sell a perf to me, it's old Måns 'MY OVARIES' Z. But after a rapturous reception for Jon Henrik and Mariette, will the rivalry with Saade even register in the public's consciousness? We'll find out.

Thursday: Reviews of the rehearsals with thirty second clips of the performances. Needless to say if they're that short, take any impressions with a silo of salt - unless they're obviously Hero-level quality and going to change our lives in which case SET HYPERBOLE TO 11
Friday: Reviews of the second rehearsal and the notoriously hit-or-miss results of the 'gen-rep' poll of audience members at the rehearsals
Saturday: In the afternoon 2:30 clips of the songs are uploaded to SVT. A livestream of the heat will start at 7pm GMT on svt.se/melodifestivalen
GO GO GO
Let's just post in here then with the hope that all of the Heat 4 posts will be moved to the forthcoming thread~

Oh and mah predictionses
DTF: Måns, Annika
AC: Hasse, JTR
5th: Dinah Nah
6th: Caroline
7th: Midnight Boy ( )
Well, Hasse is representing dansband this year, so it'll probably make it through in some form or another.
I'm hoping SOMEHOW Midnight Boy isn't dead last, although that does seem to be an almost forgone conclusion sadly.
JTR https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=931454420233396
Could be okay as a full song but the vocals are way too bad really.
also anyone in leather pants always looks like a total c**t
DONE
PREDIX:
DTG: Mans, JTR
AC: Annika, Hasse
05: Caroline
06: Midnight Boy
07: Dinah Nah
Predictions
DTG: Mans, Annika
AC: JTR, Dinah Nah
5th: Hasse
6th: Caroline
7th: Midnight Boy
JTR'S vocals have somehow gotten WORSE since X Factor!! I didn't think there was much scope for even more of a downward trajectory... Tbf they're going to be one of those acts I'll just hate regardless of the song, it'd have to be astounding for me like it I think... 2006 is as far back as I properly went retrospectively when I started following MF in 2011, so I missed that Caroline song but jesus wept
Lookin forward to Mans obviously but also Dinah Nah.
also did you type this up at the library pay as yo go dell comp from 1998
i am watching this and getting teary:
what an inspirational song / woman / everything
It's finally time for Team Otter!
It's been a long wait for me since he became my personal deity in that 2009 deltävling 2. **whispers** he was my first **whispers**
Now,
f*** me, this Dinah Nah track sounds epic in every proportion. Summer hit 2015, ovviously.
Caroline is TWENTY-NINE? Dinah looks younger than her!
I don't exactly know how to predict but I think I'm looking forward to Midnight Boy, Hasse and Mans, to see how they sound, and then probably Annika and Dinah look like they could be good.
Oh go on then, I guess the top 3 seem pretty safe from reading those write-ups carefully (fab job once again T), but the bottom 4 could be going any way depending on the songs - not listened to any of the clips yet.
DTF: Mans, Annika
AC: JTR, Midnight Boy
5th: Hasse
6th: Dinah
7th: Caroline
oooh dinah nah sounds like a hit indeed. You just KNOW there is going to be a big breakdown in it somewhere so i'm very much excited~
just finished reading thank you tirren for writing as per usual x
diner nah has me most excited *.*

Go on svt's facebook hoe. You can get there via one of the clips i posted
Mansy now 2nd fav to win not far behind Jon
THANK YOU TIRREN!
-x-
Having heard all the clips except Mans, I'd guess the results will go something like
DTF: Mans, Annika
AC: JTR, Dinah Nah
5th: Hasse
6th: Midnight Boy
7th: Caroline
I have hope that the Swedes will reward what sounds like a maximal Dinah Nah song but I am braced for disappointment.
all of those clips sound dreadful (with the exception of 'guld och gröna skogar')
Colour me excited for Dinah *.*
Really enjoying the sound of Caroline's song. Everything else so far sounds horrendous.
I'm SCREAMING for how FABULOUSLY BASIC Make Me (La La La) is!
SLAY! *.*
O M F G
This loon has shat his pants due to the sheer excitement Le Måns' clip has caused.
win. thanks. bye.
The more I hear it the more amazing it sounds.
// dead //
(I'll retreat to rehab now)
Anything other than a Mans/Queenah DTF will be a sheer TRAVESTY
Mans clip here http://www.svt.se/melodifestivalen/mans-zelmerlows-nya-grepp-som-ska-ta-honom-till-final-i-melodifestivalen-2015
2015 is saved!
Sounds (and looks) incredible. BYE Eric.
Oh my lord. *.* #TeamOtter gonna slay this shit.
YÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅS
Oh my. Consider me SLAIN!
TAKE ME MÅNS
That is a THREAT (to both the competition and my pelvis).

VI HAR EN VINNARE
I'm not convinced yet.
Of it winning, that is, the song is pretty strong and without having listened to any of the other clips yet, will have an easy time in this heat.
song sounds dreadful and he looks like any old washed out gay @ G.A.Y.
UM
If anyone's doing the washed out gay look it's MIDNIGHT BOY!
all these identakit 4/10 swedes with identakit songs, the mind BOGGLES
MÅNS is NOT a FUCKING 4/10
btw is it normal each year that songs/artists get preferential treatment / they know what is going to do well so put it on last. where is the competition? i don't like being lead up the garden path and i'm finding it quite off putting this year...
I would use that to describe Eric, Danny, Anton, Oscar Zia and basically all the Swedish guys EXCEPT Mans, who's normally quite good for his genre. Which means we only really have Eric repping the 4/10 guys this year.
(as far as solo acts go, S&V and probably JTR are falling into that category too)
Mans in leather pants has made my life
Sweden are masters in manipulation with running orders, just see what they did to Eurovision itself with their producer decided running order! (Although to be fair it has worked out quite well considering the massive negativity towards it when first announced...)
Not quite getting the "Mans is incredible" comments, seems like a solid but unspectactular track to me but of course you can't tell anything from 30 seconds really. It definitely isn't screaming winner though to me. Staging looks very cool though!

YES! *.*
Måns still has 52% of the votes on the favourite song poll on the MF website. Not even Jon Henrik got higher than about 37% I think!
There's hardly much competition though is there, let's be honest. Looking at this semi, the only thing that seems of any note whatsoever is Mans (well, Dinah has potential but she's hardly gonna challenge him or appeal to a huge amount of the public).
yeah the fact he is leading with such an amount says nothing about how he will perform against Jon and Eric. Also nobody seems to think there are THREE man candy faves and only one female. Some votes might get divided~ Let's hope Mariette will benefit from all this peen abundance~
A lot depends on the running order for me especially with 12 songs, I think if Eric is on near the end then he can't be ruled but if he gets the opening slot or somewhere in the first half then he has no chance. I think it's a guarantee that Mans, Mariette and Jon Henrik will all be on near the end (Jon Henrik will probably get the closing slot) but I think they might use Eric to start the show off with. Not sure what they'll do with Isa, but if she somehow manages to get an Ace-style draw (which I doubt - I expect she'll be shoved in the middle) then she can't be ruled out either.
Sadly, even as a Saade stan, I think it's all over for him even if he gets the pimp slot. There are far stronger songs this year that the jury and even the public will prefer.
Saade ain't getting the pimp slot. I reckon depending on odds by the time of the Tuesday before the final it'll be either Jon Henrik or Mans - Mariette's got something like 10th sewn up I reckon.
I'd be shocked if Sting above about 5th to be honest. I'm really sensing him "doing a Natural", except for him it's a bigger fall because obviously he's a bigger name and won before with a monster song like Popular.
i have been a bit critical of late but i really want a full blown 'hero' trajectory cross-pollinated with loreen's eurovision journey for mariette. the best thing to come out of melfest for several years.
as much as i'd JUMP at the chance of getting onboard with dinah; it's dreadful and deffo not a keeper, utterly derivative in a pedestrian remix sort of way...
Hmm the quality of this doesn't scream HEAT OF DEATH like years gone by. Måns' song is of course brilliant and is much more of a winning track than 'Sting'. Dinah Nah's song is so basic yet utterly joyous at the same time, combined with her outfit it could be the hot mess of the year!
Want:
DTG: Måns, Dinah Nah
AC: Midnight Boy, JTR
5th: Annika
6th: Caroline
7th: Hasse
Think:
DTG: Måns, Caroline
AC: JTR, Annika
5th: Hasse
6th: Midnight Boy
7th: Dinah Nah
Måns song sounds solid, but it's the weakest of the "big 5" for me on first listen but maybe the stage performance will change that. Jon Henrik or Mariette are the only possible winners for me I think!
I don't know why~ but Hasse is so clearly the other DTF of this heat for me.
Yeah I'm thinking Hasse will go DTF At LEAST AC. Even JTR are better than him! Thoughts coming in a sec, just listening through the 2:30s... My christ though, the "rap" in JTR's "song" is absolutely tragic
Make Me La La La is great in a hot mess way, but I'd be shocked if it progressed. Måns is the best obv and I quite like Midnight Boy but again I'd be surprised if that progressed... Caroline's isn't that bad actually, it's just that her voice is horrifically irritating at times. JTR and Hasse are probably the two worst of the whole YEAR for me! Hasse is obviously just not my thing.
The """rap""" in JTR's song is absolutely tragic oh my god They have only got worse and more of a Lidl answer to 1D since XF! The song is nothing special anywayl, but it might be ok under another artist. It's odd because I'm not used to having a pre-existing hatred for MF singers, I never know them well enough (and if I do I like them or don't care, never hate). Ugh. To be fair I'd be shocked if they pulled it off live, I mean look at these (their vocals can be absolutely shocking, although I guess they could have improved by then and have probably been intensely rehearsing for MF):
Want:
DTF: Måns, Dinah Nah
AC: Midnight Boy, Caroline
5th Annika
6th JTR
7th Hasse
Think:
DTF: Måns, Hasse
AC: Caroline, JTR
5th Annika
6th Dinah
7th Midnight Boy
This one is hard to predict though!
OMFG SLAY ME MAKE ME LA LA LA
Mans is brilliant, a potential winner and probably a contender in Vienna if it gets that far
Still on team Mariette personally but if it's a choice between that and jag ar fri then Heroes will do very nicely.
AMAZING heat
01 - Dinah Nah - The Romanian slutpop wave LIVES! *.* I like to imagine that somewhere in a Bucharest bordello Sanda is tending to her weeping sores with tears of joy on hearing this
02 - Annika Herlitz - Okay this is the kind of track which could literally have been entered in any year since 1981 but IT HASN'T IN A WHILE AND THAT'S THE POINT. Thank god we have this otherwise we might have gone a whole MF without a VoR 'MF IS DEAD' tantrum and the idea of that is just UNACCEPTABLE
03 - Midnight Boy - OMG OMG OMG I'm QUEENING OUT PROPER OVER THIS, I can't wait to dance like a miserable 80s queen with Kaposi's Sarcoma to this *.* I'm probably going to end up listening to this the most out of all the songs in this heat - it's totally shameless, totally doomed, and totally fabulous
04 - Caroline Wennergren - Those harmonies in the chorus are SO Amanda Jenssen it's RIDICULOUS but THIS IS AMAZING. I wonder if this is the track they were trying to get her to enter with last year? I'm a little upset Caroline's comeback isn't disgusting as I was looking forward to trolling people by bursting out into song with it as A Different Kind of Love has been, but this is probably for the best. This is actually probably better than fourth but that's how good this heat is.
05 - Måns Zelmerlöw - It's interesting and really suits the heat 4 song 8 slot but I'm sorry Måns, in a heat with a generic MF Swede ballad, a woman making Ace Wilder glad she's no longer the oldest creature to ever enter MF, and Midnight Boy, you're going to have to UP YOUR GAME
06 - JTR - Look I can't even really forgive Eric for One Direction offcuts so you voxless nobodies can just take a running jump
07 - Hasse - Does my withered face remind you of the grim spectre of death?
Heroes is definitely impressing me more in 2:30 form, a song that builds very well into something incredibly anthemic. Really hoping he or Jon can take it (or Isa if she's really in contention but I highly doubt it).
Now we've heard everything (aside from the last 30 seconds of this heat's tracks obv), I'd say Mariette and Måns are the only real contenders for the whole shebang (as in the Eurovision win). Jon Henrik would probs flop and I think Sting mght do about as well as You did? Maybe. It depends if him being a bigger name than Robin was helps but tbf he won't be getting that far anyway.
Heroes is my fourth fave of the whole thing behind Don't Stop Believing, Don't Stop and Hello Hi.
I really don't think Jon would flop at Eurovision at all, I really disagree with this, we're British and quite a lot of us find the whole thing really quite spectacular so it's not just something that makes sense to a small group. It's very unusual for Eurovision but would stand out incredibly, it's anthemic, really well produced, quite emotional, well performed. I think it'd challenge for the win a lot more than the others (perhaps Mariette aside though I'm saying this going by the hype on here).
I don't think Jon Henrik would win, but top 10 would definitely be very possible.
Dinah Nah: *.* I KNEW there was going to be an explosive chorus in this. YASS YASSS YASSSSS A MILLION TIMES YASSSSS. MANS WHO
Midnight Boy: It WORKS despite being ridiculously dated. AMAZING.
Måns Zelmerlöw: Eh. This was supposed to be groundbreaking. Still great but erm let's hope Mariette slays your old ass
Annika Herlitz: Disney called, they want their dress and staging and song back.
Caroline Wennergren: I think this is going to work better live. Still, this is dead last in heat realness, sadly
Hasse: Actually could be good when DRUNK.
JTR: oh god there's kind of a BREAKDOWN in this bitch?! Sounds 6.5/10. Skip

THANK HEAVENS
Jon Henrik would suffer what we in the biz call "the Malena effect" i.e. all the power and impact would be lost because you would have to try and replicate the effect of the massive choir on the backing track with a maximum of 5 people (not to mention probably getting rid of the angels and the dancers while you're at it unless you can find three people who are really good at singing while suspended in mid air).
Add to that the fact that he was quite out of tune in places, he isn't exactly a charismatic performer and the fact that ethnically flavoured songs are struggling in eurovision these days you're on track for a national embarrassment.
Basically Sweden, you've got two potential eurovision winners in this selection, (to quote a very wise manwoman) "Good Luck...and DON'T f*** IT UP!"
That is Jon Henrik's main problem indeed, to try and replicate the backing vocals and stage production live at Eurovision will be very difficult - unless they do a 'Marija Magdalena' and break the rules!
Well, turns out I'm here for the first hour after all!
Haven't even heard any clips so this will be exciting.
ahhhhhhhh we are starting *.*
Sanna's Free Your Mind *.*
Sanna demonically shouting IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT I'M A PROSTITUTE is my moment of the year.
THIS. IS. INCREDIBLE
I AM HERE
That's a winning performance! <3 Those dance skillz, not to mention Sanna in that.
Oh shame I missed another borderline brilliant opening number
TO YOOOOTOOOOB (in 3 hours)
sanna rapping was my favourite moment.
I Thought they couldnt top last weeks opening. But they did. AMAZING. Sanna to host every year plz
What a RANCID QUEEN, I had no idea prior to this week
Sanna's rapping is the PINNACLE of modern history
The song REDEFINES what *.* has come to mean though
Sweden, please say no!
I'm not saying no. To the music that is. The visuals I could do without.
Quite up for camp 80s-esque pop most of the time anyway.
Between this and 4 episodes of Dynasty this afternoon I feel like I might have accidentally travelled back to 1985 (bar having a laptop, mobile etc, don't nitpick)
AMAZING
Midnight Boy - Don't Say No / AMAZING. That really would've suited being a Heat 1 Slot 1 number to kick off Melodifestivalen. It's pretty much a direct rip off of You Spin Me Round, so so 80's but delivered so well. I'd love for it to go further but the heart suggests there's no chance. LOVE. 9/10
That is TERRIFYING
go away and never come back
Omg Wienergreen showing most personality in her segment than any of the other contestants *.*
LOVING THIS.
That chorus!! f*** me
Don't Say No *.* It's like, the most fabulously 80s thing EVER.
Loving Black Swan too, the perf is making it work for me! Her 2005 track (the name escapes me now) that I heard earlier this week was AWFUL so I didn't expect this.
Though perhaps if she didn't sound like she was on 50 a day it might be even better
I was prepared to hate this for some reason, but I think I'm feeling the opposite! It's very cinematic and Bond-like, and that's definitely a good thing. Only bad thing is her voice doing those rasps.
This really has been an amazing start this week
if only she had a bit more energy and looked more likeable but the song is FABULOUS and she SASSY YASSSSS
Prepare your ears for the worst vox of the year. Probabyl worse than Janet Leon in Hollow. Actually, scratch that - definitely.
Caroline Wennergren - Black Swan / Did absolutely nothing for me, it's not that I disliked it and it had a "nice" bop and melody, but nobody really wants something NICE. Especially not when a nice song is matched with an annoyingly raspy vocal. 6/10
This isn't DENMARK, guys.
Er.. these guys can GET THE f*** OUT
Pretty clear contender for worst song this year already, and definitely the worst vocals.
Oh god they're rapping now. MAKE IT STOP.
My god they are even WORSE than on XF!! They should have stayed in Aus (but not entered for them, christ that'd be WORSE).
DYING at the rap. So tragic. It's even worse than when they managed to desecrate Cher Lloyd (!!) when they covered Want U Back in current hits week.
1/3 ain't quite cutting it for me with this
Oh my the rap is terrible, but beyond that the song was pretty good. They just aren't very good at this whole singing thing.
JTR - Building It Up / I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO ME, IT'S LIKE MY BRAIN JUST STO- well, it's not really like that a song, it's just the 'I don't know' in the same tune that makes me do that. The chorus could be a little stronger but a catchy little number, don't even think the vocals are that bad personally. Would support that going AC (or DTF because realistically Dinah and Midnight Boy are NOT gonna be there). 7.5/10
Robin reminds me of my ex with facial hair at times, just notiicing this :drama;
Hasse on now. Gotta prepare spare panties. Those that i am wearing will probs get all wet and sticky during the performance
INCREDIBLE ALREADY.
May you follow in the footsteps of Ravaillacz, Hasse.
Holy Shit. 11/10 for Hasse. DTF!!
COME ON DINAH NAH *.*
SO READY
Nobody that wrote Dinah Nah's song could have been bothered to show up.
that was actually quite enjoyable. It may just have been because JTR set the bar so low anhything would be better but hey.
Sorry I experienced a mild case of BRAIN DEATH when Hasse appeared on stage
So yeah, time to redefine BASIC with this too
This is SO shit. Not even sorry.
All in all it'll be a good night for publishers of the dictionary according to Johnkm
I can't decide whether this is tragic and badly trashy or a huge bit of fun and greatly trashy, the sort that you never tell anyone you know about.
We can agree it's trashy though.
FABULOUS DARLING
YASSSSSSSSS
DINAH YASS YASS YASSSSSSSSS
DINAH NAH - MAKE ME LA LA LA / I CAN'T STOP TYPING IN CAPITALS AFTER THAT ABSOLUTE MF MOMENT OF LIFE. IF THIS ISN'T GOING AC I'LL BE SO SO SAD, ONE COS IT'S AMAZING AND TWO COS IT'LL BE TOO EXPOSED TO SEND TO BJSC. WHAT A MOMENT. 10/10
At least she was better than Hasse, so that's something
That was basic, trashy and a hot mess - so of course I loved it *.* Like Midnight Boy though, I shan't get invested. 6th at best HO
This is where an entire nation goes to make a cup of tea/coffee.
This is incredible!
This nice, at best. Boring at worst. The absolute defintion of 5/10.
I can see this doing really well, maybe even DTF. It's very Disney which is obviously a bad thing, cos ballads like that are usually very annoying but it's definitely stronger hook-wise than Can't Hurt Me Now.
I can see that becoming a real favourite if I give it time when I get the MP3. Feels a bit anonymous in this heat though unfortunately.
THAT was much more like it, dated and not even 1% original but bloody brilliant
cue rich
Mirakel *.*
I've realised this year has been missing some HARDCORE WIND MACHINE BALLADRY. I'm glad we didn't go without completely.
Oh dear, leather trousers can only make one look like a PRIZE TIT
Mirakel
Already swooning at Mans <3
I LOVE the staging but the song is utter kack.
Mans once again proves why he's the best Swedish male popstar. That was great.
Wow Mans vocals are INCREDIBLE.
Yo erics could literally never
Mirakel YASSSS *.*
Heroes is amazing, what fantastic staging too!
Eric is (was) hotter and has better music. FACT.
Mans Zelmerlow - Heroes / Bye Saade, take your seat. That performance was incredible and matched with a very strong vocal and an extremely instant song with a huge chorus. Wow, that felt so special, I could definitely see that winning now. The only thing I'm downgrading it for which I'll very quickly get over is the silly country-western voice he's putting on in the first verse. 9.5/10
The song is good, the staging is brilliant, he is very good. It's easily the most professional and 'biggest' sounding of all the songs this year. I don't think it will be winning though.
Heroes is the best staging this year imo. Mans gave one of the best perfs too, it feels WAY bigger than Sting for sure. I'd say it's definitely this, Mariette or Jon. PLEASE NOT THE LATTER
I'm inclined to think it'll be Jon then Mariette then Mans though Sting will be 5th or 6th I think!
WANT
DTF: Dinah Nah, Mans Zelmerlow
AC: Midnight Boy, JTR
5th: Annika Herlitz
6th: Hasse Andersson
7th: Caroline Wennergren
PREDICT
DTF: Mans Zelmerlow, Annika Herlitz
AC: Hasse Andersson, JTR
5th: Dinah Nah
6th: Caroline Wennergren
7th: Midnight Boy
WHY are they intent on recapping Building It Up with the bloody rap
Eric will be pretty lucky with 5/6 tbh, I can easily see him ending up very near the bottom. There is no buzz and he is a smug c**t now, or at least can't hide it anymore.
I think
DTF: Mans, Caroline
AC: JTR, Hasse
05 Dinah
06 Annika
07 Midnight Boy
I'm gonna guess:
DTF: Mans, Hasse
AC: JTR, Annika
5th Caroline
6th Dinah
7th Midnight Boy
Want:
DTF: Mans, Dinah
AC: Midnight Boy, Caroline
5th Annika
6th Hasse
7th JTR
I hope Mans is DTF in the slang tense as well ~
Let me see:
01 Hasse
02 Annika
03 Caroline
04 Mans
05 Midnight Boy
06 Dinah
(very very large gap)
07 JTR
Would be a classic no-miss heat if it weren't for JTR. That top 3 I'm deciding is incredible and Mans is incredibly competent and contender-ish.
Predictions:
DTF: Mans, JTR (being pessimistic as I can't call it otherwise)
AC: Hasse, Caroline
5th: Annika
6th: Dinah
7th: Midnight Boy
I fear the actual results tonight will be far removed from my rankings:
10 Annika
09 Caroline
09 Midnight Boy
08 Mans
07 JTR
05 Dinah
00 Hasse
I just want Caroline DTF and then I'll be happy!
Oh God we're being reminded of little and large form last year.
YES!! I can cope with 5th, I was just desperate for her to make it at least top 5!
dtf: mans, annika
Ac: dinah, jt
5 hasse
6 caroline
7 midnight boy
feel like annika will go through over hasse idk why
i was wrong
Predictable, but what a shame at those two so low
Annika tho wot
Caroline to SMASH now to make up for that slap in the face
Annika out is a no brainer, she ain't Jessica who got through on goodwill as much as anything
Caroline really needs to slay her way to AC and then win against Linus in the duel~
K everyone has performed. Now someone upload the album and allow all the performances in Youtube. Thx.
Damn, went to make a sandwich while Phillipa was droning on and missed the results
Glad but surprised @ Annika being out and Dinah being top 5 lmost certainly 5th but still.
Well, if you want the performances, Dailymotion is your friend for everyone apart from Magnus.
I'm guessing 5th for Dinah
I need the studio of Don't Stop, Heroes and Don't Stop Belieiving *.*
TRAVESTY!!!
f***.
Hmm, they didn't deserve that but I'm not massively surprised
oh god
What a silly decision, FRIENDS OR BUST is gonna be dull as hell now, cos we know Mans is the other one. Although, Heroes is a bigger SHOW CLOSER, I guess...
This is the biggest injustice involing them, aside pushing out Ellie Lovegrove in the sing off despite not being able to sing when they were in XF Aus. *reference lost on all*
So that leaves us with a very boring DTF or BUST moment at the end too
The worst finalist so far, easily. Album filler.
This song is like a One Direction bonus track from their first album that was only released in Africa. Don't get it.
Oh well, not like it's gonna do much and I'd much rather see this in the final than Hasse who seemed the more likely 2nd finalist. It'll do an Oscar at best.
COME ON DINAH NAH PLS, although 5th is a nice enough showing... but it's not gonna happen, is it?
WOW
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES
SHOCKED.
DINAH!!!!!!!!
!!!
YESSSS DINAH OMFG
CAROLINE.
f*** f*** f***
WHO COULD IT BE?!!!
MANS 5TH?!!!
f*** RIGHT OFF SWEDEN
my favourites ALL BOTTOM 3
Thank GOD, was actually worried there as Caroline has form.
LMAO @ that shocked cheer from Mans as they set up an LED screen on the stage right next to the seats.
I am deeply ENRAGED right now, Caroline out over DINAH AND HER NON SONG AND NON VOICE and Hasse and his shrivelled dick. WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Caroline had her defeated face on as soon as Hasse went DTF
I obv loved Heroes but I would cried laughing if Caroline actually went DTF. How on earth she came fifth before in the FINAL in 2005 with such a horror too
I'm allowed to be hyperbolic. I'm ANGERFUL.
I adore Heroes. Would have been legit upset had it crashed and burned.
THIS YEAR HAS GONE SO WELL!
Love all 8 of the finalists so far and if Dolly Style, Dinah, Kristin and Linus make it out of AC, I WILL EXPLODE FROM HAPPINESS
Don't f*** it up Sverige

OH WHAT THE FUCK CHRISTER YOU WANT ME TO SWITCH TO NORGE
Nooo @ Dolly vs. Dinah Much as I love the latter, Dolly Style NEED to be through.
Gonna guess at Linus, Kristin, Dolly Style and Samir & Viktor? Maybe?
Oh god damnit at both Annika and Caroline out. At least Hasse is through, JTR are awful awful finalists.
And those are pretty dire duels too, guaranteeing I'll lose a good one in Hasse vs Kristin, meanwhile making sure that the two worst songs in this contest that aren't JTR go up against each other meaning we get one of those in the final.
I will think up a top 28 now, momentarily.

At least this way, one of Dinah and the Dollies is guaranteed to be through. If they were separate then there's the possibility that they would have both gone home.
Just listened to sting on YouTube (it's out there people) and by God I forgot what a letdown it actually was
Am I right in thinking that it is the winner of the 4 duels that go through, rather than being paired off again and only two going through?
Just caught up on this heat. Love Mans. Gutted for Annika.
Yes, you are.
Dinah, Mans, Midnight Boy, Annika and Caroline (+ Mariette) are all out in studio form but I shall wait for the entire pack to leak~
When the album is "out there" so to speak. If someone could PM me with the details of how to obtain it, I would be much grateful.
*.*
01 Isa - Don't Stop (it's basically Shake It Off, was I ever going to do anything other than fall head over heels *.*)

25 Jon Henrik Fljällgren - Jag ar fri
26 Andreas Johnson - Living To Die
27 JTR - Building It Up
28 Daniel Gildenlöw - Pappa
Watching Mans' performance, I've fallen in love with 'Heroes'. The staging is incredible, I've never seen anything like it. If he can take that staging/projection screen to Vienna with him if he wins in a couple of weeks, he could win Eurovision as well.
Any of the big 5 winning would be fabulous
Look at Ryan still trying to suggest that Isa is in a 'big 5'. Isn't it cute!
Don't burst my bubble
Isa even BEING in the final is beyond my expectations so I'll take whatever comes! Top 5 would be brilliant.
Isa isn't in a big five. Not that there's a big five anyway - it's one of Mariette, Jon Henrik or Måns who's winning this.
-x-
- I was actually LOSING IT at how fabulously disgusting Midnight Boy was, especially with that STONE BLACK HEART in the corner throughout. IMMEDIATELY ICONIC
- Poor, poor Caroline AS IF that went out fifth when A Different Kind of Love did so well (although the performance felt a bit like it ripped off JT's live perfs of Mirrors but STILL)

Not an amazing year really, the bottom six or so are lost causes that I'll never listen to agin. Jessica Andersson down to Ellen all have their charms but I won't be rushing back to those either. The top five are the only essentials that I'll take away from this year, Heroes and Don't Stop Believing are amazing.
Mans song is seriously incredible. HIM TO WIN PLEASE.

Overall, on a par with 2014 for me, only one song that I never want to hear again and 20 that are keepers for the iPod.
My favourite part of that performance!
I'd forgotten that half of AC will go to the final this year! Linus, Kristin, Dolly Style and Samir & Viktor please.
We need an English language version of Groupie released in the UK, it's a surefire summer hit.

How the hell did Behrang make it through to AC over Ell & Rikki?!
Oh my god, just looked at the English lyrics for Groupie - I thought it wa about groupie as in fans, but it's saying take a picture with people so it's a GROUPie not a SELFie. Oh christ
It's the most annoyingly catchy as f*** song like ever though so it's growing on me WAY too much
Magnus doing very well on iTunes!
I really hope Mans wins this, I could see it doing quite well at Eurovision and I've always thought he's easily the best of the Swedish males (plus I met him once and he was a genuinely nice guy). The incredible animated backdrop of the performance would no doubt send Twitter into meltdown.
Well extra LED screens have been allowed before, for Blue and Gaitana for example - but is there some sort of special projection involved in this as well I think? That might be an issue but I'm sure if SVT beg ORF enough and/or pay them some extra money then they may be allowed their extra technology.
Shame Blue's screens made the performance WORSE. They still give me nightmares!
If they have LEDs on the back screen then you could do it without extra ones but keep the camera close in and at the back of the stage.
Either way, Sweden are on for four top three finishes in five years if they go with Måns.
good GOD at QUEENAH NAH! SLAMMERRRRRRR
I thought Mans' performance was mostly just very high quality projection? (Hence why you could see the rain in front of him.) That won't be that hard to set up at all.
I just realised the full BLOODBATH POTENTIAL (which transforms to inevitable reality come Saturday ) of DEN TREDJE DUELL. Dolly Style and Queenah Nah are both ESSENTIAL. Just like oxygen and food. And we must lose one. Christer's message to the fans goes something like this: "Choose what you want to do. BREATHE OR EAT. Now let me go back to the ACTUALLY important things like https://pp.vk.me/c624016/v624016533/25db9/uHihR78oaVM.jpg ["I just put Dinah and Dolly Style in the same duell!" - "LOLOLOL"] and https://pp.vk.me/c624016/v624016533/25b31/pKPgLaaOuyo.jpg".
FUCK YOU CHRISTER
As if you guys needed more of an excuse to watch next week...
HOLY SHIT *.*
in other news,
ugh poor Mariette
Why has Mariette slipped beneath Sting? Oh well, it doesn't matter as it looks like a two horse race now anyway.
PRAYING for Mans to win, I'm absolutely obsessed with it.
I'm not a huge fan of Heroes but it NEEDS to win over that ALBUM INTERLUDE.
For Sweden's sake, yeah, Mans needs to win, because it's SO going to be Top 5 if the performance with all the animation and shit stays the same. But I personally would love to see Jon Henrik take the crown.
When Sweden inevitably let go of this masterpiece CAN WE HAVE IT INSTEAD
Here's how the Finalists and ACers are doing on the Swedish Spotify charts
Isa doing pretty well! Mariette underperforming there too it seems.
Might put a bet on Jon Henrik to win seeing as I'm fully supporting Mans to win... and we all know what happens when Rob backs a song. Yes, it comes 2nd.
Ylvis are performing in the final with a new song.
lolz
Loreen is performing Paperlight (Higher) in Andra Chansen aswell!

The Mariette song is also good
Awks. AdamAloud distributed packs to all the LOUD FANS. It's not as hard to find now though~
Don't really get 'Heroes', I find it rather annoying and I prefer 'Sting' tbh.
Checked out 'Jag är fri' for the first time tonight and now have it on repeat, incredible. So atmospheric and different from the usual, really championing them to send this, would finally be an entry to be excited about.
William Hill odds, much the same to the ones posted really but hey:

Okay guys, MALENA ERNMAN is going to be participating in AC. In Behrang's song singing the operatic back vocals live! That's Behrang through then unless no one will know Malena was actually there LOL
I can't see even Malena Ernman saving them in the duel against Samir & Viktor. I'd say it's the only gurantee this weekend.
I don't see Hasse winning over Kristin at all though. Unless she butchers her vocals big time. Like Janet Leon style.
Oh Malena NOOO
According to the MF website, each duel consists of a 3rd place and 4th place finisher in the heats.
Annika Herlitz faved my tweet saying she and Manz should go DTF, from Saturday.
I didn't realise she did the Swedish voice for Frozen, did think she looked very Disney though.
Do you bitches not READ my write-ups?!
http://www.svt.se/melodifestivalen/folj-artisternas-forsta-rep-pa-scenen-infor-andra-chansen-i-melodifestivalen-2015 for andra chansen are now up. Malena doesn't not improve the Behrang song.
