Following on from our last throwback is the second single from her debut album, Hot N Cold. What are your opinions on it now and how has that changed since eight years ago when it first charted.

Here are some of the first opinions on it from some of our still active users:

Good choice. Shall do really well I think, excellent song lyrically, and the production of the track is top notch too.
My favourite track she's done bar Long Shot.

QUOTE(Hayzayy @ Jul 26 2008, 06:56 PM) *
Other singles 'Ur so gay' and 'Thinking of you' are better IMO, but well, it's still a good song so I hope it does well!

QUOTE(mr_pmt @ Jul 26 2008, 07:12 PM) *
Not great, but passable.

QUOTE(Slick @ Jul 26 2008, 10:33 PM) *
Yes cheer.gif The other Katy Perry song I'm obsessed with!

QUOTE(Jonjo @ Jul 29 2008, 10:45 PM) *
I just listened for the first time and i must say i l;ike it more than IKAG

QUOTE(Jack @ Aug 30 2008, 10:37 PM) *
I love this song! She should release ''Thinking Of You'' after this though I think, that would do really well for her. I think this'll go Top 10 in the UK at least.

QUOTE(Jark @ Oct 1 2008, 06:32 PM) *
I've made it quite clear I don't like her, but this song is excellent. A real grower; only her vocals let it down. The production team combo of Dr Luke and Max Martin really is an absolute dream wub.gif Wonderful video too. She should be thanking her lucky stars she managed to get such a talented team around her!

Still her best single and one of her best videos (California Gurls and Last Friday Night put up a challenge in that regard). It's just so fun with hooks galore

It's a classic, and probably the best music video ever made.

Much like IKAG, I did like it a fair bit at the time but it's now overshadowed by pretty much everything that was yet to come and therefore I don't go back to it much. However, if I hear it on the radio or TV then it does sound amazing, one of those infectious songs that you can't not enjoy. I also agree with Aly and Jack that the video is fantastic, once again I do prefer the videos for Cali Gurls/ET/Dark Horse etc. but it is still a LOT of fun!

LOVE the video but the song has never really done anything for me, her weakest single sad.gif

Still probably her best tbh, although Unconditionally, Dark Horse and Roar definitely run it close nowadays.

This song made me a Katy Perry fan.

I actually rank this in my top 3 favourite Katy Perry singles, and definitely the highlight from her debut album and an awesome follow up that ticked all the right boxes. Okay I do admit that at the time I did get sick of this and 'IKAG' due to them being overplayed to death, but now some time has passed and I just love it all over again, it's just classic 00's electropop at it's finest.
