Quite like Crazy! Much much better than most of the stuff post-Reality (which I agree is amazing wub.gif ) but that drop from 11-40 laugh.gif

Agreed, it just kind-of wore off on me really quickly though laugh.gif Thanks Jeff!

#54: Somewhere Anywhere ft. Claude Eman - A Short Love Story

Peak: 09 / Month of Peak: February 2017

Somewhere Anywhere's Chart History:
2017 09 A Short Love Story (Somewhere Anywhere ft. Claude Eman)
2017 08 Back Together (Somewhere Anywhere ft. Claude Eman)

Claude Eman's Chart History:
2017 09 A Short Love Story (Somewhere Anywhere ft. Claude Eman)
2017 08 Back Together (Somewhere Anywhere ft. Claude Eman)

Another BJSC entry here, and one I liked much better than its peak shows! It took me a while to get into, what with the 'alternative title' and sample in the chorus, but I began to really like it! It's a catchy dance tune with big brass band influences, which made it stand out from anything else out there, although it did take me longer than it should to work out that Somewhere Anywhere were DJs and Claude Eman was the male singer, as opposed to Claude being the woman laugh.gif They won't be appearing again in this countdown, even if their follow-up Back Together had a higher peak.

#53: We Are Messengers - God With Us

Peak: 06 / Month of Peak: January 2017

We Are Messengers' Chart History:
2016 06 Magnify
2017 06 God With Us
2017 06 Point To You

Next up it's Irish worship band We Are Messengers, who still have another track to come in this EOY! (and are probably also the first artist to have their first three singles all peak at the same position ohmy.gif ) This first one was first pushed around 2016 Christmastime, although the fact it's not very Christmassy at all led to me charting it in early 2017, which was when it reached its peak. It's also being pushed this Christmas by the looks of it.

#52: Kah-Lo - Fasta

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: December 2017

Kah-Lo's Chart History:
2016 02 Rinse & Repeat (Riton ft. Kah-Lo)
2017 05 Money (Riton ft. Kah-Lo, Mr. Eazi & Davido)
2017 01 Fasta

After being amazing on Riton's music, I of course was excited for Kah-Lo's first release as lead single (even if it was produced by Riton). This was amazing, one of the first #1s from the new format era, and one of the few females to make #1 in my chart as lead artist. The track was really catchy, Kah-Lo has the perfect vocals for the beat that goes with it, and I wish the pair could get themselves another chart hit sad.gif And maybe it's actually time to give Fake ID another chance now kink.gif

#1 Ranking
#24: Kah-Lo - Fasta
#25: Lost Frequencies ft. Zonderling - Crazy
#26: Friends of Jo Cox - You Can't Always Get What You Want (ft. MP4, Steve Harley, Ricky Wilson, KT Tunstall & David Gray)
#27: The Afters - Eyes of a Believer
#28: Vance Joy - Like Gold
#29: Kodaline - Brother
#30: AronChupa ft. Lil Sis Nora - Llama In My Living Room
#31: Sophie Francis - Without You
#32: Alan Walker - Alone
#33: Captain Cuts ft. Nateur - Love Like We Used To
#34: Elina Born - In Or Out
#35: MOWE ft. Jerry Williams - Boy Oh Boy
#36. Schwarz - Home
#37. Clean Bandit ft. Julia Michaels - I Miss You
#38. Oceans - Deep Blue
#39. LVNDSCAPE ft. Mi Manchi - In My Mind
#40. The Strumbellas - Young & Wild

#51: Pale Waves - There's A Honey

Peak: 04 / Month of Peak: June 2017

Pale Waves' Chart History:
2017 04 There's A Honey
2017 98 Television Romance
2017 13 New Year's Eve

Yet another BJSC hit here, one I really wasn't expecting to like, but it really took me by surprise! I had the chorus of this catchy alternative track in my head all the time for about a week, and was most certainly looking forward to their next output. What did they give us? A song with EXACTLY THE SAME CHORUS that I had already overplayed and was sick of. Hence its rubbish peak at #98. Their next single was nice enough, another I had in my head when out and about, but their newest song doesn't really do anything so it probably won't chart.

I like I Miss You
Highs & Lows is great. My favourite from the album, along with Hurts.
Why Do You Feel So Down. I love the DMTV music video.
Fasta. Riton does some good production on this. Also, I can't tell whether she wants the gate opened or closed.
BTW, here's a Riton track released in 2001

Nice to see "Fasta" on your Year-End list!
Also, I'm grateful that I'm not the only one, who knows "A Short Love Story", been listening to it thanks to Italian radio stations! It's a great song!

Glad I gave you another discovery! He's got a new one out atm called 'Does It Matter' which samples Alice Deejay's 'Better Off Alone' - I much prefer this though! Thanks Joseph!

#50: Alvaro Soler - Animal

Peak: 02 / Month of Peak: February 2017

Alvaro Soler's Chart History:
2016 04 Sofia
2016 01 Volar
2017 02 Animal
2017 35 Yo Contigo, Tu Conmigo (Morat & Alvaro Soler)

Just scraping the Top 50 is Alvaro's only entry into this year's EOY after his two back-to-back entries last year. Of course I was looking forward to his new track, and it didn't disappoint - the chorus 'Como Animal, Animal' being stuck in my head for hours. He also had a long running Top 100 hit with Morat this year, but that doesn't count for anything in the EOY tongue.gif

#49: Disciples - On My Mind

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: May 2017

Disciples' Chart History:
2016 01 Daylight
2017 01 On My Mind
2017 18 Jealousy

Rite, a song you all know so stop complaining tongue.gif After getting an EOY Top 20 with Daylight last year the trio can only manage #49 this year, even though it is an arguably better song. This song began to do something officially and I have to say I was delighted that they managed to get themselves another hit after (the absolutely amazing) They Don't Know. Unfortunately this also became a victim of overplay, and their subpar follow-up didn't make me super excited for their next stuff.

#1 Ranking
#23: Disciples - On My Mind
#24: Kah-Lo - Fasta
#25: Lost Frequencies ft. Zonderling - Crazy
#26: Friends of Jo Cox - You Can't Always Get What You Want (ft. MP4, Steve Harley, Ricky Wilson, KT Tunstall & David Gray)

#48: Martin Jensen - Solo Dance

Peak: 01 / Month of Peak: March 2017

Martin Jensen's Chart History:
2016 05 All I Wanna Do
2017 01 Solo Dance
2017 12 Wait (Martin Jensen ft. Loote)

One mainstream smash after another ohmy.gif This time it came from the amazing Martin Jensen, who had previously come to my attention through his Scandi-chart smash All I Wanna Do. I probably thought I'd never hear of him again after that, but lo and behold, I was wrong! Turns out Solo Dance was somehow even better, most certainly a grower but what it grew into was something I was never expecting! And for it to continue climbing and reach a Top 10 peak officially amongst the barrage of Eds and Drakes was a mini miracle in itself. Like Disciples, it did unfortunately become a victim of overplay and hence it's not as high as it probably would have been.

#1 Ranking
#22: Martin Jensen - Solo Dance
#23: Disciples - On My Mind
#24: Kah-Lo - Fasta
#25: Lost Frequencies ft. Zonderling - Crazy

#47: Drones Club - Hurricane

Peak: 10 / Month of Peak: June 2017

Drones Club's Chart History:
2017 10 Hurricane
2017 33 This House

Pretty sure this is the highest song in my EOY to peak at #10? In fact the only one I think tongue.gif The best BJSC winner from last year in my opinion, I loved it on first listen, it continued to grow on me and I'm still a big fan now! Unfortunately due to my 'old format' it only peaked at #10 and spent 5 weeks in the Top 40 (boo old format, down with the old format etc) - it would certainly have been a long runner had it have been released now!

On My Mind what a tune wub.gif still so amazed it actually became a hit, but overplay killed it pretty quick for me too actually
I really like Solo Dance but never completely got into it, it never even made my top 40 ohmy.gif I was happy to see it become such a big hit but it's generic-ness was a bit offputting for me I think
Hurricane is great too, if I was in BJSC at the time it would easily have got my 18 tbh

WHAT a trio there wub.gif 'On My Mind' and 'Solo Dance' were both great to see/hear up high in the chart, 'Hurricane' didn't hit me until after it won BJSC but has grown immensely! (Hope that old format learns its lesson and goes away for good tongue.gif)

Just realized you had 40 #1s in one year, wow! ohmy.gif
