BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ YTD T40 Albums (with estimated sales)

Posted by: vidsanta 23rd December 2017, 10:38 AM

V2 :

YTD Sales : Please read these guidelines before you request sales estimates, it makes my task a lot easier.

1. Be specific - please name the artist and title for each entry you'd like an estimate for.
2. I log sales for all albums that have charted this year, but only update those that have sold enough to reach my 200 position tracking range
3. If an album isn't in the current Top 100, I won't be able to update its sales until Tues. Also, please don't ask about ex-T100 albums too often - once a month at most)
4. Remember to check the thread before requesting estimates - they may already have been answered. Also, no more than half-a-dozen requests at a time, thanks.
5. Please note my figures are combined sales & streams, and since I have no way of separating them, I cannot provide a split.
6. While I am no longer estimating singles sales, I can provide YTD singles positions from C+, and I am still maintaining my sales archive based on published figures (PM me if you want to see it)

Thank you.

Little Mix have really stuck it out! Great competition.

Posted by: heysexy 23rd December 2017, 11:02 AM

Oh wow. P!nk is still doing well after all these years!

Think it could go double platinum by the end of next year!

Posted by: 777666jason 23rd December 2017, 11:39 AM

So ed guaranteed 3 albums top 20 pretty impressive and disappointing at the same time

Surprising how frontloaded take that was 100k plus first week the other 100k over the next few then virtually nothing since

Great to see little mix pretty much on lock for top 4 also good to see they sold enough to practically go top 20 on the sales release alone which is great since the have had practically no promo and not really promoted anything since the first few weeks of RL

Can Rag 'N' Bone Man sell 39k this week then?

I would think so given it did 60k+ last week and we still have a bunch of days before xmas in this week. Particularly with this weekend being the last two days before Christmas, they'll likely be massive days for sales.

Comfortably in my opinion, Album still riding high in run-up to Xmas. Rag 'N' Bone Man has really done with his Promo and it has been advertised a lot on TV - I personally think the Album is quite a middle-of-the-road collection so not surprised it has sold so well.

Posted by: Nadolig Llawen! 23rd December 2017, 12:50 PM

Great that Paloma is likely to outsell Taylor.

Posted by: ChristmasEve201 23rd December 2017, 02:44 PM

Two million sellers isn't too bad for 2017!

Haven't heard it in full myself apart from the singles but have been told that Human is far and away the best track and a lot is filler. Anyway well done to him. Am sure he'll do it as yesterday and today will have been high selling days.

Pink should ease into the top 5 with her album!

That is how I found the album. Bar the singles, the rest left me with little interest in listening to again. Really nice to see it has done well though. The album market needs some decent sellers in its current climate. Fingers crossed he does manage to scrape past 1 million this year.

Not buying it then as I love Human but the other singles did nothing for me really.

Human is a terrible album... says a lot that he was hailed by critics in early 2017 but no word since the second single. No wonder because the music is truly quite bad.

He will probably end up being one album wonder, hope I'm wrong though

Posted by: Olympus 26th December 2017, 03:35 PM

Just 10 rock entries....3 of them Oasis, Noel and Liam, collectively holding up the rock genre.

Her album is at number 42 on the YTD albums (down from number 38 last week), one place behind Eminem who is in at number 41.

This week would have 3 days of huge sales so we should see some albums such as Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Little Mix, Pink, Paloma Faith and Rag n Bone Man get fairly decent boosts. Hopefully both Pink and Paloma over the next few months can both reach double platinum. Little Mix could be on the verge of triple platinum if they get good sales this week.

ISTM those who campaigned to get Wham to #1, actually picked the wrong week.

Posted by: ChristmasEve201 27th December 2017, 07:29 AM

True, with those 1.3m streams on xmas day it could do well this week, although still think Perfect or River will do it easily!

Posted by: smidsy101 27th December 2017, 03:43 PM

Hi, could I have the totals for

Katy Perry - Witness
Haim - Something To Tell You
Alt-J - Relaxer
Halsey - Hopeless Fountain Kingdom
Kesha - Rainbow
Kelly Clarkson - Meaning Of Life

I doubt Paloma will reach double platinum with her new album. I think platinum is more realistic. I know she is a good album seller but she hasn’t had a successful single from this era and album sales will drop like a stone after New year. It will be a long climb to reach 600k when she will be lucky to sell 250k by the end of this year. I think Pink might eventually do it when good exposure and more hits and possibly a reissue at some point. Little Mix also should make triple platinum easily.

I’m interested to see the final singles table from this year and where Perfect will end up. I believe it’s already sold over a million meaning Ed will probably occupy three of the top 4 best selling singles of this year. Has anybody else ever achieved something similar?
