Madonna is resurrected following her 'death' in the 'Live to Tell' performance and begins singing 'Forbidden Love'. As she reaches the chorus, two male dancers (with the symbols of the Star of David and the crescent moon printed on their bodies) perform a hand choreography, suggesting they were trying to link but never quite being able to maintain it, until they finally embrace. This routine reappears throughout the performance and Madonna joins for the final sequence. It's simple on the eye but difficult in technique - an intrigue that plays a part in its appeal - as well as suggesting two people are fighting to be together despite whatever culture or social attitude is preventing them from doing so. It's a very powerful visual and brings further depth to the songs meaning, particularly the line "once upon a time, there was a boy and there was a girl", which suggests attitudes are, slowly but surely, moving with the times.

A perfect final for me, but it was always going to be 'Hung Up' to win. Not only is it my favourite Madonna song but it comes alive on this tour in a way she has never been able to recreate. The magic in the atmosphere is immense; I adore the way Madonna encourages the crowd and the way the momentum builds and builds until it cannot possibly get any bigger; the dance routine; the STRUT. Joy! heart.gif

Hung Up is my winner!

Didn't vote in the last round oops (after all of that laugh.gif) but my vote wouldn't have made a difference anyway as FL was two votes ahead!

I'M BACK just in time for the final and pleased to see the results went quite well (even if Drowned World and La Isla Bonita are miles better than Jump and Forbidden Love).

Hung Up to win OBV, the catwalk section is among her most iconic live moments ever and she's had a shit ton of them. Live To Tell is easily the best rendition of the song she's ever done and it works perfectly tonally and within the setlist too, but it's against HUNG UP.

Totally agree about 'Hung Up' and 'Live to Tell' but I find the Confessions version of 'La Isla Bonita' one of her weaker renditions. It's certainly not bad by any stretch of the imagination - I actually quite enjoy it - but it loses the magic that the original holds. The original melody is so charming and peaceful and that's just the complete opposite with carnival, shouty live performance. I can see why it works but the feelings spurred by the original were so effortless and not possible to recapture.
