Chillout music is quite a speciality of mine, and over the years I have collected many different CD's with containing Chillout genres such as ambient, lounge, Ibiza, Balearic, and other chilled out grooves. Some of my favourite artists include Blank & Jones, DJ Shah, Sunlounger, Oceanlab, Above & Beyond, Liquid Mind, Moby and others.

My favourite song is still in fact the one which inspired me to get into this whole genre and I still listen to it a lot today.

Groove Armada – At The River

Great topic idea. I have lots to say on this.

Lots of music on TheVibeGuide is really good for relaxing to - I'm a fan of most of the stuff on there, so gentle but not all of it is chill house etc, so I shan't link to anything of that channel in particular.

At the moment I'm LOVING this track from 2013 from Naxxos wub.gif. Heard in a car park over a tinny loudspeaker but even in that enviroment I fell in love with it. It's called New Orleans and it's a really nice bit of chilled house with some tropical house vibes in the form of an ever present trumpet. There's something so relaxed and laid back about the song that makes it irresistable to my ears right now - can't get enough of it.

My favourite of all time has to be So Good To Me by Chris Malinchak, though - for a song of that type to be such a big hit was remarkable in that time [2013], let alone today. The fact it was mainstream at the time amazes me as on listen now it seems so niché and not something that would cross over from Europe. Not that I'm complaining, obviously - it still remains an iconic dance track and will do in my eyes for many years to come.

I loooove this song. The funny moment I thought this is original version, couple month ago found out that it`s a chillout mix from Cafe del Mar.

When I hear the words "chillout song", my first thought is "Destiny" by Zero 7. Vocals, in part, provided by an unknown artist called Sia. I wonder what happened to her lol. There's something just so soothing about this track.

In terms of dance chillout one of favourites is from last decade - Little Love by Lil Love from 2005. Last decade had much better chillout tracks than this decade - Moony - I 'll be Loving You, Db Boulevard - Point Of View, Deepest Blue - Give It Away, Deep Dish - Say Hello. Deep house was better in the 2000s I think, more about the flow of the record than the drop.

By the way follow the 00s dance number 1s thread in the next couple of days - 2 great classic chillout dance anthems to come from early 2001.

You're bang on with this one AaronTM, it's one of my favourites too, I first discovered this on Now 49 way back in 2001.

This is my favourite chillout song. Heard it alot on the music channel The Box in 2005, good memories. It is a remake of a 90s song but I prefer the production on this one, it is more chillout too.

Lil Love were a duo, and one of them was Alex Gaudino.
