Like most people I had no idea what did well in BJSC when I started, so I went with some fairly inoffensive female pop that I discovered on my uni's radio station. It only qualified due to 64 being One Big Final where everyone qualified, but hey at least it counts! I wouldn't qualify again (or properly) until 71. The last time I did a ranking I ranked this as second last, but I don't hate or disown it by any means. |

I debuted back in 2015 for BJSC 74 with Last Lynx - 'Curtains'! They're a Swedish indie-pop group. I wouldn't quite say that indie-pop became my signature sound but I have dabbled in it a decent amount of times. There was that poll (that still randomly gets bumped) where you guys were supposed to predict who would have the highest debut in 74 out of me, April, Cody and Harry and I was winning on my name alone before the songs were actually revealed buuuut then the hype seemed to swing towards April's entry. So I was extremely surprised to have actually won that little battle! I finished in 13th place with it which was a very respectable start to the contest. I actually received the second highest amount of votes or something despite missing the top 10, so I was quickly the queen of trickle points much love to Persephonia and Desbuanda for those 18s still. I have absolutely no regrets with my debut entry. The dive into that dreamy chorus is still a treat for the ears Oh also there was a 1 point swap between me and Meekul for this and 'Shimmy' x |

I think choosing my favourite of the songs in this thread is a TOUGH one between 110%, Watch The World Go By, Fantasy and Curtains. Some of you have great debuts.

Why I was cast aside in that debut competition when I also debuted that exact same contest I do not know

Fate conspired for me to give 18 to the very first Jadakissnia entry, it was only my 3rd favourite song in the contest at the time but my top two (Crywolf and Silvermine) both DNQed. That said it's still definitely among the best Jadakissnia entries, and I've only given 18 to two others since then despite the strong bloc voting teas x
