I simply pointed out its position and said "ouch" - which I believe is warranted because I thought it'd be low top 50 at least at the minute. The more I hear it, the more I'm really liking the new MNEK single. Genuinely sounds fresh and different and given it's prominence on the new music playlists on Spotify maybe it could actually become a hit.

 It was THE gay anthem until "I Am What I Am" came along 15 years later!

I was also a bit disappointed with cigarette's performance on itunes, even if you're not big names and haven't had promo, selling barely 50 copies a day it's a tad disappointment
but yes, we have to put it into perspective, it's 2018 and singles don't peak in week 1 anymore plus raye /mabel/ stefflon are artists that appeal to the new generations so their natural market is spotify not itunes, and there the label is doing a good job having the song added to all playlists and being 50-ish already, that's what matters with artist like raye, her itunes position is irrelevant, it's like post malone, no one cares how he does on itunes, it's not gonna make a difference |
