30. Blue - Too Close 8 29. DJ Otzi - Hey Baby 13 28. Westlife - Queen Of My Heart 15 27. Westlife - Uptown Girl 18 26. Afroman - Because I Got High 22 25. Bob The Builder - Mambo No.5 23 24. 5ive - Let's Dance 29 23. Blue - If You Come Back 31 22. DJ Pied Piper - Do You Really Like It 34 21. S Club 7 - Have You Ever 34 In the bottom section we say goodbye to numerous manufactured pop groups and novelty hits: Blue finish last with their summer number one 'Too Close' while their later hit 'If You Come Back' does slightly better to edge near the top 20. Two DJs find their 2001 novelty hits at the wrong end of this chart and Westlife lose their two '01 chart toppers back-to-back with 'Uptown Girl' thankfully being the higher finisher. The only real loss in this batch is the beautiful 'Have You Ever'. Fortunately, 'Don't Stop Movin'' is still to come! |

5ive's Let's Dance far and away the best of a largely bad bunch.
Queen Of My Heart was most palatable Westlife chart-topper, though you have to take into consideration what went before. Some of the others are difficult to forgive...! |

20. Geri Halliwell - It's Raining Men 35 19. Atomic Kitten - Eternal Flame 38 18. Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman - Somethin' Stupid 46 17. So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds 48 16. Hear'Say - The Way To Your Love 48 At the tail end of the top 20 we have the first of two solo Spice number ones: it is Geri who ranks the least popular of the two with her cover of The Weather Girls' 1982 hit 'It's Raining Men'. Atomic Kitten also lose their first of two 2001 chart toppers - again it's a cover version of an 80s hit from The Bangles. Continuing the theme of pairs and covers, Robbie loses his first of two number ones from this year - sadly it's his festive offering that bows out first. I'll always have a soft spot for its old-fashioned warm festive vibe and its video. At 17 SSC lose their only #1 and rounding off this section are Hear'Say who lose their first of two number ones. I think I'd rank this song above the one yet to come but oh well.... |

Surprised that Hear’Say song is this high, it seems like a forgotten #1 of that era to me.

15. Shaggy feat. Rayvon - Angel 50 14. Limp Bizkit - Rollin' 55 13. Robbie Williams - Eternity/The Road To Mandalay 57 12. Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, Pink - Lady Marmalade 71 11. Hear'Say - Pure & Simple 73 At 15 Shaggy loses the first of two number ones from 2001 - I'm actually shocked 'Angel' made it into the top half. I always found it rather bland. Limp Bizkit lose their only contender at 14 while Robbie's most popular 2001 chart topper finishes at 13. Christina & Friends bow out at 12 with 'Lady Marmalade' but Xtina and Pink should have a couple more chances each to triumph as we make our way through the decade. Hear'Say just miss out on the top 10 with their debut single. |

10. Shaggy feat. Rikrok - It Wasn't Me 90 09. Emma Bunton - What Took You So Long 93 08. Jennifer Lopez - Love Don't Cost A Thing 104 07. Destiny's Child - Survivor 109 06. Rui Da Silva feat. Cassandra - Touch Me 143 We kick off the top 10 with Shaggy's monster hit which will be eternally referenced I'm sure. Emma finishes at 9 with her only solo number one single. We then cross over the 100 point mark with J.Lo's LDCAT which I kind of expected to finish top 5. Destiny's Child didn't survive the cut this time but end up in a very respectable 7th place. Then by quite a distance - 34 points in fact - Touch Me finishes at 6, just 2 points behind the #5... |

05. Atomic Kitten - Whole Again 145 04. S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin' 149 At 5 is Atomic Kitten's breakthrough hit - I feel like I've exhausted my views on this song in various rates and polls so will just say it is their biggest hit and close to a million paid-for sales. At 4 is the infectious S Club smash which I'm sure dominated every school disco back in the day. That leaves a top 3 consisting of Another Chance, Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Gotta Get Thru This. The winner is to be revealed shortly... |
