-04

| 01 | The Great British Bake Off - 13.57m | Highest = 15.90m (Ep. 10/10), Lowest = 8.25m (Ep. 3/10)
| NE | Planet Earth II - 11.92m | Highest = 13.14m (Ep. 2/6), Lowest = 11.10m (Ep. 6/6)
| 02 | Strictly Come Dancing - 10.87m | Highest = 13.30m (Ep. 26/26), Lowest = 8.94m (Christmas Special)
| 06 | I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! - 10.33m | Highest = 12.66m (Ep. 1/21), Lowest = 8.46m (Coming Out)

All of the top 4 have an average of over 10m! I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! is possibly the first series of a reality show where everyone actually got along? There may have been a couple of... disagreements but overall everyone in the camp were friends and actually had a good time. ohmy.gif It highlighted that drama isn't actually always needed, with ratings increasing year on year. Last year's series has helped winner Scarlett Moffatt to launch a more mainstream media career. Strictly Come Dancing falls a place but actually increases its ratings year on year, and I think it was reported that it was the highest rated series so far but I'm not sure if that is 100% true. The standard was very high last year, leading to some shock early exits that led to a few racism claims. The series was also dominated by talk of Ed Balls and it being Len Goodman's last ever series, having been a judge from the start. It is another show were that highlights the new underwhelming ratings that result from Christmas Day with its lowest rating surprisingly being that day! Planet Earth II is the highly praised and extremely well received sequel to the original series that aired 10 years previously in 2006. David Attenborough returned to present and narrate the documentary that takes an extremely close look at the nature of our planet. Using state of the art technology, it offered scenes that no one had ever seen before. One particular nail-baiting sequence saw some baby reptiles trying to avoid being killed and eaten by an area of land guarded by snakes. It marks the highest rating for a nature documentary. For the second year in a row, The Great British Bake Off is the highest rated series of the year with an incredible 15.9m for the final! It increased its viewers for the seventh year in a row and saw Candice Brown be crowned winner. Sadly, this will more than likely be the last time it will be so high in the chart as last year the show was bought by Channel 4 in an extremely highly controversial move that also saw Mary, Mel & Sue leave. It will be interesting to see where it ends up on the chart next year though.
