So now NF season is all wrapped up and we pretty much know how all of the entries this year sound (either based on the actual songs or how they've been described) iwe can now move on to the next stage of eurofan speculation, the running order! In a change from the last few years, this is less of a 'predict what the order will be' and more of a 'if it was solely up to you, how would you order the songs?' thread.
A reminder of the Semi Final line ups and divided into the first and second halves: Semi One Armenia Belgium Estonia Finland Greece Macedonia Moldova Netherlands ------------------ Albania Belarus Denmark Georgia Hungary Romania Russia Serbia Semi Two Czech Republic Ireland Lithuania Malta Montenegro Norway Portugal San Marino ------------------ Azerbaijan Cyprus Iceland Israel Latvia Poland Slovenia Sweden Switzerland So, put simply, in what order would you put this 158,000 ballads we have this year? Feel free to go into as much depth as you want to justify what you would put where. Whoever gets the order closest to what it ends up being gets a lick of Mans Zelmerlow (or if it's one of those dirty str8s idk, replace with whoever the most attractive female of this year's eurovision is). |

(or if it's one of those dirty str8s idk, replace with whoever the most attractive female of this year's eurovision is) I hold that it's Leonor. Although there are a lot of attractive girls this year, what with all these male/female duets pushing up the numbers for both genders. That's beside the point of this thread though. I will comment/predict whatever shortly. |

Semi One 01 Belgium 02 Macedonia 03 Netherlands 04 Estonia 05 Moldova 06 Armenia 07 Greece 08 Finland 09 Denmark 10 Albania 11 Georgia 12 Romania 13 Serbia 14 Belarus 15 Hungary 16 Russia Wow, semi 1 has a lot of uptempos in the first half. Hard to pick which they'd go for as the starter, but I'd go for Belgium or possibly Moldova, won't be Finland as I can imagine them saving that for later in the show as I'm sure it'll get a bit of hype. For similar reasons Armenia might well be later on. Macedonia seem a likely country to stick in 2nd place. Russia (I haven't heard it) should be later on but I'm not sure if they'd give them the honour of closing the show, but then Hungary seems like a weak closer too and the others I'd all put on earlier. Semi Two 01 Malta 02 San Marino 03 Portugal 04 Lithuania 05 Norway 06 Montenegro 07 Czech Republic 08 Ireland 09 Slovenia 10 Cyprus 11 Latvia 12 Azerbaijan 13 Switzerland 14 Israel 15 Iceland 16 Poland 17 Sweden I am feeling Israel or Sweden closing the thing with a bang, put the other one a couple of songs before. That's possibly a weak start but I'm preferring Czech Republic/Ireland on later for reasons. It would be awful to put San Marino in second place but I feel like it's the sort of act (again, haven't heard it yet) that would be just shoved on second before we get on with the rest. |

These are mine
Semi One 01 Netherlands 02 Macedonia 03 Moldova 04 Greece 05 Belgium 06 Armenia 07 Finland 08 Estonia 09 Serbia 10 Russia 11 Belarus 12 Romania 13 Denmark 14 Albania 15 Hungary 16 Georgia Netherlands seems like a good opener to me in that it's perky, catchy and a safe "settling in" song. From there on it's pretty much alternating between uptempos and ballads with Finland and Estonia as the big press interest and favourites being kept as late as possible. Georgia I feel is the most 'going out with a bang' entry so I'd have that close the show. Semi Two 01 Malta 02 San Marino 03 Norway 04 Lithuania 05 Montenegro 06 Ireland 07 Czech Republic 08 Portugal 09 Israel 10 Poland 11 Latvia 12 Iceland 13 Switzerland 14 Azerbaijan 15 Slovenia 16 Cyprus 17 Sweden Jesus that top half is hard to order. Normally I'd put Lithuania at the top but I think it needs to be held back to break up all the balladry and Malta works as an opener I think. For the rest of the first half it's basically alternating between 'nice' and 'dramatic' and then Israel straight after to inject energy back into the proceedings. Sweden therefore is the only sensible closer left so run into that with the most simple/stripped back ballad (Cyprus) and put Slovenia before that as a strong quirky pop song. |

God semi 2 is going to be a bloodbath. I can see a few great songs missing out. The quality is very high this year and i hope countries like Greece don't still get through even when their song doesn't deserve to.

Poland as a closer though? I do not quite see that working tbh oops. Mans or Elnur would've worked SO much better but I guess they didn't want to increase chances of either of those winning haha

Yay Armenia and Ireland in the death slots (now watch Armenia still qualify comfortably).
Poland seems like an odd choice of closer, if they qualify at the expense of someone like Latvia or Montenegro then I will not be happy. |

Initial thoughts are that Poland is an unexpected closer yet makes sense when you think about it, that should now sail through. Ireland will need a miracle to qualify from 2nd. The Netherlands are looking like big strugglers now, between the modern and quirky Belgium and the obviously memorable Finland.
Latvia and Belgium are screaming fan favourites that struggle, although they did before the draw - but 10th and 3rd respectively are 2 of the worst draws they could have had, especially Latvia being sandwiched between party track Israel and potential big moment Azerbaijan. Nice to see the Nordics not given an easy ride compared to the last couple of years, Denmark in particular could struggle considering they are after the commercial break - Sweden will of course be fine in the other semi. Romania will definitely be able to keep their 100% qualification record now, although I did think they would wherever they performed. Greece are less convincing coming on after the commercial break and also after Finland, but I can still see them getting a high jury vote and the televote will have to be shocking low - however Dilara nearly failed last year in similar circumstances so you never know. Still not convinced Albania will qualify but at least that draw gives them the best chance possible. Likewise Slovenia should now avoid any chance of being a surprise failure. |

Not really happy with Belgium, Netherlands, Latvia or Lithuania's placements for the chance at success. Poland shouldn't be last as it's a boreathon. Also I would have stuck Sweden on first as it'll go through regardless.

I hate to interrupt your 58,000th post of nothing but winging that contributes nothing BUT: A - Going on first is one of the best running order positions B - Sweden couldn't have gone first because they were drawn into the second half |
