BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ What the 4th Album Should Have Been

Posted by: markthomas25 1st August 2014, 12:47 PM

Ok, so firstly, the ALL FIRED UP single artwork should have been the ALBUM artwork
and the ALBUM should have been called 'All Fired Up'
I'm still baffled as to why the album WASN'T called 'All Fired Up', the tour was called 'All Fired Up'.

AND I just love the artwork above, it was TOO good for a single.
It's bright and colourful like their previous albums.

ALSO, the album should have been released in September, straight after the All Fired Up single.
It just got lost in the Christmas rush, it could have easily charted in the Top 6 on the album chart.

NOW, the tracklisting!

The distribution of album tracks & b-sides was a mess. Weaker tracks made it on to the album, not good!

1. All Fired Up
2. Faster
3. Ladykiller
4. Notorious
5. Get Ready, Get Set
6. My Heart Takes Over
7. Turn Myself In
8. Not That Kinda Girl
9. Promise Me
10. Do What You Want With Me
11. Last Call
12. Wish I Didn't Know
13. For Myself
14. The Way You Watch Me (SATS ONLY VERSION!!!)
15. White Lies
16. All Fired Up (The Alias Club Mix)
iTunes Bonus Videos:
17. One Shot (Headlines Live Tour Video)
18. Puppet (Headlines Live Tour Video)
19. Forever Is Over (Headlines Live Tour Video)
20. All Fired Up (Music Video)

B-SIDES DISTRIBUTION:

Obviously I have removed 'I Say Ok' and 'Move On U',
I felt these were just weak songs.
So they could have been used for b-sides to Notorious & All Fired Up,
the b-side to My Heart Takes Over could have been the Travie McCoy version of 'The Way You Watch Me'

AND

I really would have liked to have seen a 4th single from this album
- I still believe 'Turn Myself In' was strong enough for a single release.
The 4th single could have been released in Jan/Feb 2012 (MHTO still being released in November)
& then 30 Days as the first single from Album 5 in May 2012 as it was.

What do you guys think?
I think this would have been SO MUCH BETTER FOR THE ALBUM.

agree it should've been released after All Fired Up, but I love Move On U

I love these kinda' threads! I do agree that the album should have followed All Fired Up, then make My Heart Takes Over a post-album single.

I definitely think 'Last Call' should have been the ballad single. Obviously I love WIDK and MHTO, but 'Last Call' is just so beautiful and one of the best songs by a girl group, never mind the sats.

MHTO is actually my favourite Sats song! but as much as I love it I don't think it was the right song to launch the album off.

While we're at it for Living For The Weekend they should have:

- Released What About Us as normal.

- Hurried up and released Disco Love as the second single, while there was still buzz, which would have given it twice as much airplay than it had, or than Gentleman had. (I'm sure it would have gone #3)

- Album release the next week (Would have done a lot better in the Summer - Another top 3)

- For a Autumn, post album release Not Giving Up with the same 'album only' strategy that they did (I don't think it would have worked straight after WAU, Disco Love would have been great sandwiched between them) And I think this would have at lease gone top 10.

It's definitely one of my favourites too after Forever is Over. Then again I loved the On Your Radar singles, just a shame it was all so mismanaged.

And totally scrap 30 Days/Gentleman?

Yep. Leave them as album tracks, or even B-sides.

What do you guys think of the tracklisting I suggested?

ALSO: Living For The Weekend should have been released IMMEDIATELY after What About Us,
although I do think that would have meant 'Disco Love' wouldn't feature, as I believe it was a late addition to the album?

I love Gentleman but maybe it could have been released as a 4th single?
I'm going to do another post on my thoughts for how 'Living For The Weekend' should have panned out.

They should have kept Disco Love as the lead single for this campaign

What About Us going to no.1 should've been immediately followed by an album release and tour announcement, even if the tour wasn't going to be for another 12 months. Living For The Weekend Tour. Gutted as any tour talk has implied it's gonna be singles only

Leaving For Myself and Move On U off of the album would have been a fatal and dare I say it - CAREER KILLING MISTAKE. laugh.gif
