It sold 566 to be #184, with an overall total of 204,876. Surprisingly that's not the same total figure that the OCC gave... they must have given the total from the week before because, the figure I found is 566 more copies than 204,310!

Thanks Kath for updating the numbers So glad Edge of Glory has passed the platnuim mark! Hopefully Paparazzi can over time and Born This Way (the album) can become a million seller gradually!

Also I hope Cheek To Cheek reaches Silver before 2015 and Artpop becomes Platinum over time (if it can, I really hope it does, it's incredibly overlooked and apart from Jewels & Drugs and Swine, it's a great album)

Hopefully my purchase of C2C will bounce it to the no.1 spot where it belongs, album sales are that bad it's possible hahahaha

An appearance on Strictly Come Dancing's results show eight days ago - and Gaga's current tour - created a spike in sales for the Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga album Cheek To Cheek, which rebounds 51-12 (6,257 sales). Gaga's latest solo studio album Artpop also improves, climbing 137-111, with 856 sales in the week raising its 50 week tally to 207,243.

So happy CTC came close to re-peaking like I predicted A bit shocked ARTPOP only climbed to #111 though, especially with 856 sales lol the sales climate really is turd isn't it. Hopeful that CTC doesn't drop too much this week, and with Christmas around the corner hopefully clear 100k by the end of the year!

In regards to 'Do What U Want' going Gold, I'm fairly confident that includes its ineligible weeks - it had sold 231k as of May 2014 (its last chart week) so I find it hard to believe it has managed 169k worth of trickle sales and streams!

To me, the Music Week article’s wording suggests that Born This Way only just passed 1m combined directly after The Greatest Showman did, at some point this week. The article notes “from paid-for sales and streams together”, so that doesn’t imply 1m pure only for Gaga. Unless they’ve made a strange mistake. Curious~

According to the sales post on here from this week
Joanne (album) now has a sales total of 143,315.
And The Fame is on 2,995,891 so close to 3 million!

A Star Is Born debuted at #1 with 31,816 sales, 25,368 on sales only and 6,178 being from streams.

The Remix re-entered the albums chart at #195. Total sales stand at 232,453. The last figure we got for it was 166k in September 2014, so 66k in 4 years (16.5k per year).

Of the 759 copies it sold to enter last week's chart, 741 came from streaming units (+ 11 physicals and 7 downloads). Quite surprised that its streaming would be that strong.

Yeah, I'm not convinced either. Looking on Spotify, the streaming figures for individual songs on The Remix aren't great enough to push it back in the chart, especially when you consider the Spotify streams are worldwide.

Maybe the percentages for the sales breakdown are mixed up? Don't think this is the first time the sales breakdown have thrown up a few question marks.

'Million Reasons' being certified Gold would be much deserved; certainly feels a lot bigger than its peak suggests. The live performances of it are always breathtaking.

I was hoping we'd get a figure for 'Born This Way', the song. The last pure sales we received for it put it at a similar level to 'Telephone' and I had worked out 'Telephone' must be around the 950k figure with streams included, so assumed 'Born This Way' would be in the 900k bracket.

Good for 'Paparazzi'! I guess 'The Edge of Glory' could be closer to 800k.

Love Island is that big in the UK? Just started watching the american version, pretty sure they are about to cancel it due to abysmal ratings

btw I was really surpirsed to see Look What I Found above ITA.

Also, kinda disappointed none of the The Fame (Monster) tracks are above 100k. Always thought Starstruck deserved to be a single due to strong US sales (over 800k pure) but seems like it wasn't nearly as successful in the UK.

Sexxx Dreams, MANiCURE and Gypsy should’ve been the ARTPOP singles after Applause tbh. They’d have all at least gone top 40 and sold a lot more than what GUY did. G.U.Y did have a strong video but by the time it was released the album was well out the top 100 wasn’t it and it did nothing for the campaign.

I’ve always loved Applause and at the time I did kinda dig DWUW want but it’s not one I’d go back too now.

I feel with ARTPOP though it was kinda cool to not like her and she was just the female at the time who wasn’t in favour. It happened to Christina in 2010 and it happened to Katy in the witness era. I feel it just wasn’t her time at that point to have a huge era.

Was Venus scrapped as the second single by Gagas label? I get the impression she wanted it to be the second single I think she even shot a music video for it didn’t she? But DWUW started taking off and overshadowed it? Was DWUW a promo single upgraded to single or something like that?

'Do What U Want' was a Tuesday release (back when the chart covered Sunday to Saturday) and Music Week revealed it would have debuted at #10 with 22,915 sales in its first week.

Using the old iTunes archive thread that was posted on here, we can track the song's daily movements:

Week 1: 15-2-11-26-30
Week 2: 31-12-9-8-7-8-6
Week 3: 10-13-15-8-7-7-6

I'm going to assume 'Do What U Want' would have been Top 10 in both its second and third week, which would suggest roughly 30k for each week. In total, we're looking at around 80k, maybe even 90k, worth of missing sales, which would put its combined total at 450k/460k.

Did the Xtina versions sales get combined with the official version too. I remember that nearly getting the song back in the top ten. I guess now though it’ll be the track with the lowest sales between updates we get now with what happened.

I’ve also noticed just how many Gaga tracks were mid week releases. She pretty much done OA\OS back in the days where we had single pre orders.

The midweek releases and OA/OS strategy when not everyone was releasing this way really irritated me at the time. Judas and The Edge of Glory dropping down the charts and not recovering as well as I hoped they would was annoying when you think how well they'd have peaked and sold if held back.

I think some of the sales for The Remix were a bit dodgy as it re-entered the Top 200 around the time A Star is Born was released and it was achieving similar streams as The Fame. Going by its total from before streams were included in album totals, it has still outdone Joanne.

Tbh I'm surprised The Remix did as well as it did back in 2010. It's a pretty niche type of release and I don't remember it being particularly promoted. I guess it's just testimony to how huge Gaga was back then.

What’s ASIB selling weekly roughly would LOVE to see it get to 600k eventually.

ARTPOP seems like it’s had quite a jump since the last time I seen sales for that!

The Fame slaying as well! With it re entering the top 100 a few times this year and with album release incoming I think we could teach 3.1m by around December time or some point next year.

I can see Rain On Me perhaps managing to become her 4th longest runner as well!

Those Joanne era runs aren’t too great but Million Reasons was quite the hit despite its peak! I think had it got a Friday release too it probably could’ve debuted top 30 as well and managed an extra week top 40 with X Factor boost.

I also believe that this occurred due to that clause in Gaga's contract with Interscope that leaked a while ago, which said that Gaga would only bill with streaming from 2017 onwards, which seems true, since The Cure was Gaga's first single with decent treatment in the streaming platform playlists, and that's why until 2016 she was still in the UK performing in TV shows instead of investing in streaming, because that way the money from her work would mostly go into her pocket and not into the pockets of her label (even if it would kill the performance of the singles on the charts).

Joanne HAPPENED and it wasn't a resounding success. Gaga has told everyone such personal information about her struggles recently. Maybe Joanne was the album she needed to get better? Maybe the way people kept belittling and making fun of her for releasing it caused the problem itself?

I think if Million Reasons got playlist support it could’ve perhaps gone top 20 but Joanne was quite the success as an album in many ways.

It introduced a complete new side to her as an artist and the album did have slightly better longevity in the UK (and I also believe it did in the US too). I think if she wanted a real hit from that era she could’ve easily gotten that with Diamond Heart or Dancin In Circles. She seems more driven and like she cares more about success now than what she did in the Joanne era.

Rain On Me recently surpassed The Edge of Glory and Paparazzi in total sales and now ranks 6th overall! I can see it overtaking Born This Way in the end as well to become her 5th best selling single the UK!
