Avicii has teamed up with Robbie Williams for a new song called 'The Days', which is apparently the first single from his new album 'Stories'

Here is a short clip of the single.



Sounds like a typical Avicii song but doesn't sound too bad. A strange collaboration though.

As usual with Avicii's tracks Robbie Williams will be uncredited. Sounds semi-promising but I would really have liked something more along the lines of I Could Be The One than Wake Me Up/Hey Brother.

Unexpected collaboration. I wonder if a Madonna one will surface, or if that's specifically for her album.

please can this be released the same week as 1D's new single just for the lol factor of Avicii stopping them going to #1 again.

Didn't expect Robbie Williams of all people to be on Avicii's new single but unexpected collabs are to be expected when it comes to Avicii these days. Robbie's due another hit now anyway it's been a few years since Candy.

Sounds amazing from the preview I just hope the whole thing is just as good.

Does this mean we're getting an Avicii album in Q4? SO EXCITED!

I realise I sound really loony but this is Avicii we're talking about.

I agree, I adored him right up until he became massive with Wake Me Up, then he just lost me I know that sounds completely faux-anti-mainstream but in this case, it's true.

Still, I'll listen in the hope it's something better.

I'd love to see an Avicii vs 1D battle again and see them lose to bring down Cowell's ego but I just don't think it could happen again unless this turns out to be the best Avicii track ever and can sell similarly to Wake Me Up (which would take some doing!)

I think this is almost as random as Ed Sheeran singing on a Martin Garrix track but I'm looking forward to hearing this in full

First post after lurking for well over a year - bear with me!

Really looking forward to some new Avicii material! Sounds good on a first listen, although I have a random hate for Robbie in general, so will have to get over that.

Is it certain that this will be the new single, however? Just this week another single appeared online, and is apparently going to be included in the FIFA 15 Soundtrack.



EA Sports confirm a new Avicii single on the Soundtrack listing (I can't include a link because I haven't posted before!), and multiple sites online are claiming 'The Nights' will be the single included. I don't know how trustworthy they all are though...

Would be extremely happy with an Avicii album in Q4!

I hope 'The Nights' isn't anything other than a FIFA 15 soundtrack single, it's not brilliant.

The Days sounds better imo, I wanna hear the whole thing

Tom Odell coming back for that relevance? Sounds good as per but the clip doesn't include the drop so I can't fully judge.



Another low quality rip but sounds quite good, maybe as an album track.

Definitely not one of his best...I guess True was just one of those 'lightning in a bottle' type eras.

It will probably chart well but I can't imagine it will have much longevity.

It won't have Wake Me Up levels of longevity but it's not gonna have a ridiculously short chart run surely?

Could see it having a chart run similar to Summer with the right promo, or at least Lovers on the Sun. It does sound like a big hit to my ears anyway

It's way too early to say but I could see it having a Lovers In The Sun sort of chart run I guess.

It's pretty catchy and will have good crossover appeal with Robbie on board, but at the same time it feels a little limp by Avicii's usual standards.

This has been released on Spotify today so maybe once radio play kicks in it could chart on streams ahead of release!

Still find this quite underwhelming but hopefully it will grow!

I don't know if it's just because my expectations for this were low, but it's quite pleasant! Not amazing by any means, it sounds very tailored for radio and not a million miles away from 'Hey Brother'. I can see this doing well.

i still find it pretty unfathomable he asked robbie to lend a vocal. it feels more like an attempt to shock than actually having any musical sensibility about it. his voice adds nothing and it is in all not very good.

This is just , it feels like Avicii on autopilot with added torture from the ever woeful Robbie. Although it's just an odd collab anyway... I was never going to stan this or anything but god he could have at least tried a bit!

Apparently Brandon Flowers was the original singer on this but his management wouldn't allow him to be on the released version. It was written by Brandon and Avicii along with Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir.

Robbie is awful as usual and the song isn't that great, can see it growing on me a bit but nowhere near Hey Brother standards.. I don't understand why the drop doesn't come until right near the end either

Didn't realise it was Robbie on the first listen as i heard it from Radio 1. Stupid how they don't credit him on this as he's got to be the biggest artist he's collaborated with, plus if this goes to no.1 Robbie will miss out on an 8th chart topper :/

I really wasn't sure of this at first - it seemed like such a let down and like it doesn't go anywhere.
I have to admit that it is quite catchy though, the melody has been stuck in my head for the last few days. But I'm still not completely sold on the song structure - it's very similar to that of 'Dear Boy' on his 'True' album (which I really like), but I don't think it works as well here..

This does seem to wait really unnecessarily long for the breakdown to come, in fact I wouldn't really have guessed Avicii was involved until the last minute or so. It's not awful though, a little bit more subtle than his recent stuff but not necessarily bad.

I think it's for the best this has been removed for now, might give Avicii time to either plan a new single or wait until the new year when sales are quieter and then try again

This really wasn't a great choice for lead single but hopefully Avicii will pull something epic out of the bag from this era!!

I love this track, it's the BEST track Robbie has put his vocals to since the last Take That album and the best non-Take That-Robbie single since 'Bodies'. One of Avicii's best, shocked it never took off and the release was cancelled.

This is one of the most horrible things I have heard this year. I don't rate Avicii at the best of times and my hate for Robbie can never be underestimated, but this is even worse that I previously envisaged.

Gutted this is going to end up with a ridiculous peak of #82, but with R1's focus on driving down the listener age they were never going to playlist anything with Robbie Williams on it.

I'd love to hear a HQ version of the Brandon Flowers vocal so hopefully it gets released in some form! Although I wouldn't want the Robbie version to be snubbed from the album.

Maybe it'll get used in Stories: Avicii By Avicii if that's happening. A similar thing happened with 'Hey Brother', with the original Dan Tyminski vocal on the album version and Salem Al Fakir's vocals on the remix version.

Wasn't that keen on the vocals used in the Hey Brother remix tbh. The remix itself was good though (but still far from the original which just KILLED )
