Does anyone have any guilty pleasure movies?

Alvin And The Chipmunks 2 is definitely one for me! It's genuinely one of my favourite films of all time wub.gif

Elektra kink.gif genuinly in my top 5 favourite movies ever.

I alos kinda adore Catwoman, when you accept it's nothing to do with Batman, it's pretty fab.

Friday The 13th movies 1-8, or any of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies.

Also I have a soft spot for some of Madonna's terrible movies such as 'Shangai Surprise', 'Who's That Girl' & 'Body Of Evidence', I know they're terrible, but they're just so bad they're good.

The first Alvin & The Chipmunks film is a major guilty pleasure laugh.gif Not seen the 2nd one though UV!

I probably like a lot of movies that a lot of people don't, it's quite the same with music really. I did watch The Lobster last night which had odd humour throughout. The kind of "funny because of how serious it is" sort of humour. And the storyline and general plot was rather odd too laugh.gif I don't know its status in terms of how liked/hated it is but it isn't what I'd personally call a "guilty" pleasure tongue.gif

Jade you need to see it! It's even better than the first one and even more fun wub.gif

(though if you haven't seen the third one, keep it that way x)

Ooh, thank you for the recommendation! I have seen the first film and the fourth one, shall perhaps have to steer clear of the third one then. kink.gif

Final Destination 3

Usually I'm not into movies that are that morbid, but GOD what a combination of storyline and characters.

The Tomb Raider films are apparently terrible but I adore them especially the second one. Ditto with the Star Wars prequels.

White Chicks is my ultimate guilty pleasure tho.

White Chicks is too good to be a guilty pleasure heart.gif

Bring it On is kinda my ultimate guilty pleasure, but even then, it's quite well written, so I'm not too guilty about it.

Posted by: Regina 16th June 2016, 07:22 PM

The Tomb Raider movies are amazing.

Posted by: DalekTurret32 18th December 2016, 09:17 AM

Pixels (though it was technically a "meh" for me, I did appreciate its video game vibe and the Pacman scene was quite amusing)
The Mr. Bean films [Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie and Mr. Bean's Holiday] (They may not top the original Mr. Bean TV show, but I was really amused by both of them. The latter's my favourite out of the two. That scene with Mr. Bean using clips of himself to put them over the Carson Clay film was hilarious.)

I think that's it

Posted by: PaulM1983 18th December 2016, 01:49 PM

Oh god I've got loads. Though I'd only consider it a guilty pleasure if it's generally maligned or was mauled by the critics. Bring It On should never be a guilty pleasure - it's incredible. Also, someone mentioned The Lion King!? Nothing guilty about that!

For me, it's The Power Rangers Movie (almost wholly for Ivan Ooze, the cheesy one-liners during the fight scenes and that theme song - OOFT!). I actually cannot wait for the new one.

Spice World. Victoria steals almost every scene. What an icon.

The Transformers films. They're terrible, terrible movies, but I quite enjoy them. They're just brainless fun.

Batman v Superman. Gets a lot of hate, but I really enjoy it. The extended version fixed a lot of the storytelling issues and Ben Affleck is the Batman for me now. Also, Gal Gadot heart.gif

The Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions. Both films got terrible reviews and aren't held in very high regard, but I think they're incredible. Obviously the first one is a masterpiece, but as a whole, it's an amazing trilogy.

I'm sure I'll think of lots more. I'll update when they come to me.

'Step Up 2: The Streets' is my biggest guilty pleasure! So bad and anyone who likes films shouldn't love it. But I can't help it!
