23rd Thinking Of You Welcome to Round 3 of Least Fave Katy Perry Single and the 3rd song to leave us is 'Thinking Of You' with 10 votes and honestly not really surprised as it did gain pretty high votes in the previous round and isn't as fondly remembered as the album's other singles. Released in January 2009 as the 3rd single from her (proper) debut album 'One Of The Boys' and was her first attempt at a power ballad, and despite a valiant effort it just doesn't work. Everything just sounds very strained with production that tries way too hard, her vocals are very sub-par as she really struggles to hit those high notes, I just think it was way too early in her career to attempt a song like this, her voice just wasn't quite there yet and thankfully her ballads since then have improved and have played more towards her strengths as a vocalist. But you have got to hand it to her though, even at this early stage in her career, she was willing to take risks, but this was a little too much out of her comfort zone and while this may have not being very successful upon release by missing the top 20 in both the UK and USA, she would of course brush this off and bounce back hard and even greater success was just around the corner. As for the other results 'BA' finished with the 2nd highest amount of votes with 7 and 'Starstrukk' got 4 votes, while 'IWEMA', 'POM' & 'Unconditionally' each got 3 votes each. 'IKAG', 'Roar' & 'Birthday' managed 2 votes each, then finally 'WA', 'TIHWD', 'SS' & 'Feels' all got 1 vote each. The remaining 10 didn't get any votes and are safe for now. Right then guys, same rules apply just vote for your least fave out of the 22 songs left in the running by the next round which will be on Tuesday 15th August. Results

Thinking Of You remains my favourite ballad of hers, stunning song but I can't say I'm shocked at it going so early.

Thinking of You always gets unfairly picked on in things like this
It's such a gorgeous ballad, I go back to that way more than I do her other ballads like Unconditionally, The One that Got Away and Rise.I voted Swish. I know a lot of people love it here but I just can't get excited by it, everything about it is so cringey

It is fair criticism actually - Thinking of Poo is utter ear rape - acreechy vocals, cheesy music and lyrics, just unlistenable, made all the more unlistrnable by screeching!
Swish Swish i also so bad it's gonna absorb my votes until it's out. Then it's Feels. It isn't even her aong! |
