Even with the missing data Despacito should hold Number 1 if the weekend pattern carries through to Thursday. Shocked by Little Mix. They always outperform my figures.

Where's Mama? Did it get hit by 300:1 this week?

Liam would be under ACR now correct? This is his tenth week and I believe he’s declined the past three. Or does it not start until after the tenth week?

^ yes Liam's on ACR.

The full MW update shows that 'What I've Done', 'One Step Closer' and 'Heavy' have all sold enough to make the midweek Top 40 but are starred out to show they're ineligible to chart.

What I've Done is showing on the OCC update, the inconsistency is annoying drama.gif

#7, so I don't think so.

Why is 'What I've Done' at #32 then?

Isn't Numb/Encore classified as a Jay-Z song for them? unsure.gif

Yeah Liam got hit by 300:1. Try to see whether Mama has too.

Thanks Joseph for confirming.

Could just be a mistake on MW's behalf - they may have assumed 'Numb'/'Encore' was being classed as a Linkin Park song given they do have a joint credit on the track. Then again, surely it's the OCC's responsibility to ensure they are sending over the correct information to MW and establish what is and isn't chart eligible.

Poor Imagine Dragons, climbed to their peak last week yet are still affected by ACR.

The fact that Imagine Dragons are going 20-53 is ridiculous. I hate ACR.

Agreed it was climbing to a new peak every week although it's sales must have been dropping!? Although with Liam & Jonas they will drop a lot in week 10 then just slow down again so you get a mish mash of a chart with higher peaks but strange chart runs?!

Annoying that Heavy by LP cannot peak in the top 40!

These rules are making such a mess of things, as there are so many long runners clogging up the top end that are now being hit.

Sales are really being affected too with songs that are still being streamed hugely being hit so much and no big new releases or climbers making a real impact right now to compensate. 40k will soon be enough for #1 and 20k for #10.

Slow burners like Thunder are really losing all their momentum too under this model. Radio will look at the charts to decide what to support, so to see a song fly 20-53 when it may well have eventually continued climbing otherwise really hinders these sorts of songs in the long run and the support they are likely to get. Granted Thunder has been around for ages, but imagine if a song started it's chart life 75-65-59-58-45-42-40-44-48-50 - it would be put on ACR from this point onwards, even if it might have got a second wind at some point and continued climbing. Momentum completely killed off short of the track managing a huge increase one week to put it back to 150:1.

So many positions this week that im interested/happy/disappointed in.

The album chart, I find it a big shock that Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott are beating Lana Del Ray to number 1. While, Paul and Jacqui have done well with albums previously I expected Lana Del Ray to achieve the number 1. The Vamps, the big fall was so expected, i have started to wonder will it now depart the top 40 altogether? When they made number 1 last week I fully believed this album would struggle to outsell their 2nd LP.

I am disappointed with the other big drops for Joe McElderry and also both Direct Hits and Hot Fuss by the Killers. Over on the singles chart it is wonderful that Little Mix are on track to achieve a new peak with Power this week. It is also welcoming to see Olly Murs and Louisa Johnson been so close to the top 40 and Arcade Fire making inwards steps up the chart. I would welcome Enrique Iglesias and Matt Terry retaining their top 20 position or higher would be greater. I am disappointed for Louis Tomlinson as I had believed he would make a top 10 debut and additionally the fall out of the top 40 for the Script is disappointing.

This rule is ridiculous! 10 weeks seems such a short space of time, especially due to how long it takes a song to peak nowadays!

They'll tweak it eventually to 15 weeks. You watch. How long did the great 'chart on downloads alone before physical release' mess of 2006 last? Exactly!

Are the Linkin Park songs on ACR at the moment? (Based on the fact they were higher in the mids that Joe had originally). I hope it will be fixed later in the week if so. Unless the rule is only supposed to kick in the week after such an increase. Will be a bit of a shambles if 'In The End' is denied a week in the top 10 due to the ratio readjustment kicking in a week later than it sensibly should. :/ I'm glad to see that it does look like 'What I've Done' is being allowed to chart as well at least. Hope 'Hybrid Theory' can hang onto the top 3 albums.

#10 in the mids for Tyler, The Creator is decent enough. Hope he can stay top 15.

Considering ACR hadn't even been announced yet, it's no surprise they had the normal ratio ;o

Actually the Sales (16,644) for 'Crooked Calypso' by Paul Heaton + Jacqui Abbott are slightly more than expected, all ready more than first week sales of previous Album and on course to beat first week sales of first Album together.

50% increase of sales equals 150:1 for at least the next three weeks so how can Linkin Park be on ACR?

Because they've not had the 50% increase yet. They'll be back to 150:1 next week.

“Despacito” is remaining on ACR this week, its sales are up 21% week-on-week, and the whole market has increased by 4% so it'd need to be going up by 52% and not 50%. That however is enough for it to climb back to #1 over last weeks "number one".
