• Avicii claims his 21st #1 single as 'Tough Love' instantly debuts at #1. This is despite having only officially came out last night at 11PM (though a leak was brought to my attention the day before). It is the second hit for Vargas & Lagola following their feature on Avicii's 'Friend Of Mine', an unlucky #2 hit (it sat behind Avicii's 'Without You' for three weeks) and the first ever for Agnes (although 'Release Me' no doubt would have been a chart success here if it extended back to 2009).
• It is in fact an all-Avicii top 3 as 'Tribute Megamashup' leaps to #2 ahead of last week's #1 'SOS', down to #3. Get used to the Avicii domination because it'll only get bigger this time next month when the album is out... we could indeed see Avicii take up the whole top 10 which unbelievably hasn't already happened before.
• The highest non-Avicii song this week is 'Amber Sun' by Gareth Emery & Ashley Wallbridge, down to #4. Their album is out today so this could potentially climb again next week.
• Our BJSC entry 'Mystery Land' by Y-Traxx enters at #5. The song, originally released in 1997 and discovered earlier this decade had not charted before but racked up close to 20 plays over the years.
• Following the release of Armin van Buuren's A State Of Trance 2019 compilation, his track with Shapov 'La Résistance De L'Amour', which opens the set, jumps to a new peak of #6. It becomes Armin's 9th top ten hit and Shapov's 2nd. Their last top ten hit was also as a collaboration, 'The Last Dancer' which reached #2.
• FUTURECODE follow up their #3 hit 'Dancing In The Rain' with 'The Connection', new at #21 to become their second hit as a collaboration.
• Ferry Corsten enters at #23 with 'Surga' under his Gouryella alias, becoming his third top 40 hit.
• Fresh off being vetoed from BJSC, Betta Lemme scores her 2nd top 40 hit with 'Play', new at #39. Her first hit, 'Awoo' with Sofi Tukker, also peaked at #39.
• Just missing out on top 40 positions are new entries from two collaborations; MaRLo & Fenixpawl at #41 and Logic & Eminem at #42. Many other new entries are further below including those from Dimension, Mark Ronson, Vampire Weekend and Martin Garrix.
