Mik Artistik's Ego-Trip - Sweet Leaf Of The North One of Iggy Pop's favourite artists of the last 10 years and Glastonbury Festival favourites Mik Artistik"s Ego Trip represent Suedehead2 in UP 29. Vandal Moon gets 20 points and they are now 23 points in front of Color Therapy and Archive. Suedehead gives 3 to Edwina Biglet and The Miglets making his own entry the last one to receive a point. Or will we have a 0-pointer? Stay tuned. Next: Cameron |

Did Brett Butler enter this? I could imagine Suedehead's entry appealing to him?

HANNIE (ft. Ralph) - Target HANNIE, a half German, half English production duo represents Cameron with 'Target', taken from their latest album, 'Karma's Calling'. Mik Artistik was one of about three artists I was already familiar with because of his multiple Glastonbury sets each year, but I can't say I wanted to listen to that a second time.

I imagine 'Sweet Leaf Of The North' would have some charm to it if you were listening to it being performed in a bar or something but as a recorded song the vocals on it are really not it unfortunately...! (Thanks for some more points tho anyway Suedey x)
Correctly predicted that HANNIE would be Cameron! Decent song (if a little too poppy for this contest) |

Yes the vocals on Sweet Leaf... were really bad. When it started I thought it was going to be a little like Lemon Jelly or Public Service Broadcasting but it didn't live up to those standards unfortunately.

10 King Rollo
Archive - Lights 'Lights' is from the fifth studio album by British trip hop progressive and alternative group Archive - and yes, this is the longest song on the album. By far. King Rollo does really well with his choice so far, sitting comfortably at number 5. Does Rollo have a hit on his hands or is it only a strong start? QUOTE Thanks to Frank for hosting this edition and my vote is: 20pts - Lawrence Rothman - It's Hard To Be Human 15 - Max Cooper - Void 12 - Mik Artistik's Ego Trip - Sweet Leaf Of The North 10 - Islet - Geese 8 - Blond:ish - Laberinto 7 - Solo Ansamblis - Fosforinis Baseinas 6 - Another Sky - Fell In Love With The City 5 - Prince Rama - Bahia 4 - Vandal Moon - Hurt 3 - Lauren Bousfield - Clean Strategic Narratives With Relatable Messaging Murder Them Violently 2 - Edwina Biglet and The Miglets - Thing 1 - Andre Bratten - Untitled 1 84 Vandal Moon - Hurt 71 Lawrence Rothman - It's Hard to be Human (feat. Rollo being Archive was fairly likely. I though it was a really good instrumental and then loved it when the vocal kicked in.

Colour me shocked that Rollo entered a song that's as long as a half-hour TV show without its ads.

Rollo having the longest song again, truly a shocking development etc. xx (was a worthwhile listen though, another good song from Archive though not quite as great as 'Bullets' for me and as I said on plug I do think I'd have liked it more if the vocal part was a bit shorter and/or more varied).
Thank you Rollo, hooray for being top 10 at least briefly Vandal Moon not yet running away with this as much as I was expecting them to but still pretty early days |
