Catfish have announced more dates for February 2019, as well as their big Wembley show being moved to Feb. This hopefully mean the new album should be out in the first part of next year!

I can't wait for new Catfish, it feels like it's been forever since The Ride (even though it's been 2 years).

I think this era will be their most succesful, it's insane how big Catfish have become since they released their first album.

Posted by: mdh 24th September 2018, 04:36 PM

YESS! I agree with you on them being big, I think "7" and "Twice" have been as big as your average top 10 UK hit.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 24th September 2018, 04:39 PM

Yeah, one thing that really surprised me is how many non-music fans I've spoken to at school knew who Catfish where!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 3rd January 2019, 11:26 AM

Teasing January 8th on their Instagram story! biggrin.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 3rd January 2019, 11:30 AM

They're also linking their mailing list with the date tease - https://t.co/Jc8h4olbuZ

Posted by: mdh 3rd January 2019, 05:25 PM

Ahhhh there was me hoping it'd be tomorrow </3 So hyped tho

Posted by: SLlewellyn 3rd January 2019, 09:44 PM

They always do well on streaming and things have only grown since their last album, so fingers crossed for a big chart hit (i.e., their first T40, although 7 of their 12 singles to date have all gone at least Silver!)

I'm hoping for this as well. They've been headlining festivals and had an arena tour since the last album!

I just hope they aren't actually releasing it on the 8th, because that's a Tuesday and won't help.

Posted by: Christmasteve201 3rd January 2019, 10:54 PM

Be perfect time to release as this week is too early in the year imo - if it's a hit it will climb into the top 40 anyway!

Love it already! Such s great comeback for them!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 11th January 2019, 05:50 PM

Longshot is already their highest charting single at #79 after just 2 days, expect a Top 40 climb next week! biggrin.gif

Posted by: mdh 11th January 2019, 06:07 PM

"Longshot" is BRILLIANT, my favourite track of 2019 so far. wub.gif

Posted by: Steve201 12th January 2019, 01:20 AM

Great comeback - a long runnng top 40 hit would bring something fresh to the chart!!

Posted by: DexTheHalls 17th January 2019, 10:26 AM

Longshot is superb wub.gif

Posted by: mdh 25th January 2019, 08:28 AM

Def on my to buy/listen to list for this year!

It seems the next single will be '2all' as they've been filming the video for it!

Sounding amazing! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Steve201 1st February 2019, 08:47 PM

Any sign of the premiere? Longshot still has plenty of time to grow yet, don't really need a new single until March time!

New single next Wednesday at Zane Lowe's World Record - so it should be 5pm GMT!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 13th February 2019, 05:26 PM

Fluctuate out now!

Damn it's so good! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Steve201 15th February 2019, 12:45 AM

This album can't come quick enough for me ❤️

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 16th March 2019, 04:05 PM

iTunes is saying the next single '2all' will be released on Tuesday!

They were seen filming the video for this late last year.

Sounds so good! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Steve201 17th March 2019, 09:58 AM

Is it the official second single or another grat?

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th March 2019, 03:31 PM

I imagine it's the second single, seeing as they've filmed a video for it.

Posted by: Steve201 17th March 2019, 05:28 PM

Yeh and with the album out in 6 weeks it would make sense playlist wise!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 18th March 2019, 06:08 PM

Confirmation of tomorrow's release!

Another banger! Really emotive lyrics, love the video as well biggrin.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th April 2019, 09:04 AM

Coversation premiering today on 6Music at 6pm!

Posted by: Moses 17th April 2019, 10:44 AM

Will it be 4 good or better tracks on the trot?

Surprised they opted for "2all" over "Fluctuate" as 2nd single though.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 17th April 2019, 07:36 PM

Another banger! Very Oasis.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 25th April 2019, 07:33 AM

Buzzing for this tonight!

Posted by: Steve201 25th April 2019, 05:46 PM

Same here although the buzz has calmed slightly as 2all hasn't really hit me yet!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 25th April 2019, 06:12 PM

I've been blasting out Conversation! Definitely my second fave of the songs released so far after Longshot.

Posted by: Steve201 25th April 2019, 11:14 PM

It's on my phone!!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 26th April 2019, 05:43 PM

Absolutely love the album! Not a single dud song on it!

Definitely more grit in Van's vocals, and some amazing guitar solo's on it as well. I think my fave song has to be Encore.

Can't wait to take it in more and listen again smile.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 15th July 2019, 10:28 PM

Conversation video releasing tomorrow! Fantastic headline set from them at TRNSMT on Saturday, available on the iPlayer.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 16th July 2019, 05:15 PM

And here it is!

Wonder if this is the end of the album cycle now? They'll still be touring and doing festivals for the next year - but I'd like to see Encore or Sidetrack as the next single if there is one.

Posted by: coi 16th July 2019, 05:17 PM

There definitely wasn't a Nintendo video there, we saw nothing biggrin.gif

Headlining Reading & Leeds 2021! That's massive for them, and Van was on Radio 1 and confirmed there will be new music before that performance biggrin.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 23rd August 2021, 11:37 AM

The Sun are reporting that Catfish and the Bottlemen have split up... but they're supposed to be headlining Reading & Leeds this weekend? (and they confirmed new music would be soon not too long ago).

Very strange! Hopefully the rumours aren't true, I'd be very disappointed if so sad.gif I'll suppose we'll find out this weekend.

Posted by: darrens94 23rd August 2021, 12:01 PM

Supposedly going to be still doing any planned gigs and announce the split at them. Hoping it’s not true though but usually these rumours do have some truth to them.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 23rd August 2021, 12:11 PM

It just seems strange as the reason being that they haven't cracked America? I believe Arctic Monkeys are the only British indie rock band of the last 20+ years who have, so it just seems very strange.

Especially as now they're playing the biggest festival slots of their career over here!

Posted by: darrens94 23rd August 2021, 01:04 PM

I imagine there’s probably been a fall out and instead of saying that they are using the fact they haven’t cracked America as an excuse. I could be wrong though but if it was an amicable split then I would of thought they would have done one last album.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 23rd August 2021, 01:31 PM

If they'd fallen out though, I would have expected them to cancel their upcoming shows.

I suppose we'll find out on Friday though!

Posted by: lewistgreen 23rd August 2021, 02:19 PM

It would explain the complete radio silence online in almost a year though

It was the same in the years after 'The Ride' though tbf, they've never been much of a band for social media.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 27th August 2021, 06:51 PM

Their headline set will be streamed at 20:35 on the iPlayer tonight! I'm very intrigued as to what will happen, as they surely can't just ignore it.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 29th August 2021, 12:22 AM

Well nothing was announced at the set... they literally didn't say a word between the songs! They had an absolutely enormous crowd though, so that was good to see.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 11th October 2021, 08:58 PM

Drummer Bob Hall has announced that he's left the band on Instagram, and that the rest of the band are set to continue (they just announced a show supporting Stereophonics at Cardiff Stadium) - so god knows why they didn't say anything at their gigs this summer!

A belated message... Thank you to everyone who came out to Reading, Leeds, Swansea and Warrington. With some of the biggest shows I’ve been a part of, it felt a fitting way to mark the end of an era for myself...

Those shows were my finale with Catfish and the Bottlemen and I will be moving on to the next chapter of my adventures. It’s been over a 10 year journey and I am so appreciative of how lucky I was to experience it all.

Endless thanks to everyone who’s followed the band and kept returning to the live shows - it was because of all of you that gave me the opportunity to see the world through playing music.

Good luck to the band, who I’m sure will only keep playing to more of you. Onwards! Rob

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 15th February 2022, 01:24 AM

Guitarist Bondy was on Instagram live this morning complaining about Catfish, saying that he wasn’t allowed to release the music he wanted to, and he’s “trying to make music fun again” for him with his new stuff.

Guess they definitely are done then! Unless Van wants to keep the name I suppose.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 6th June 2022, 12:54 AM

Johnny Bond has finally addressed what happened with the group. He left in March 2021 and only returned for their summer shows as a session musician, he has no idea what’s going on with the band now. They just cancelled their support shows for Stereophonics at Cardiff Stadium.
