It's a second week on top for the fab Kadie Elder, but any of the top 5 would be a well-deserved chart-topper, as the highest new entry at is Agnes Obel and a hauntingly gorgeous track, sounds Familiar! That leaves RAT BOY stuck at 3 withe the terrific Get Over It and Francis & Bon dropping 2 when they should be on top too. Banks finally breaks into the top 10, and BETSY does it a bit faster. Petula Clark shoots up into the 20, actually her second biggest hit not counting remixes and reissues, as a trio of dance and urban tracks sneak into the 20: TIEKS, Gallant, & Rag'N'Bone Man. 2nd highest new entry is Royksopp back again with Susanne Sundfor, not the first time they've made my charts, Royksopp date back a good 15 years or so and together they have had a top 10. A bit late Jason Derulo enters the top 30 with the bouncy Kiss The Sky, and just look who's back: Chrissie Hynde has had some recent solo entries and is now back with The Pretenders for a beautiful extension of fab top 40 chart entries dating back 37 years to Stop Your Sobbing. Holy Commotion Batman! Naxxos enter the 40, DJ Snake does the same, giving Bieber a rare top 40 track in my charts, leaving new entries from Massive Attack, 25 years on from some classic grooves, now a slow-groove with Hope Sandoval at 50, lovely stuff, and another School of '79 act returns, the ever-reliably British Madness, coming up with a slice of Mr. Apples. Gavin DeGraw drops in occasionally, and he's a bit Maroon 5-ish this time, while Bakermat pop back, and KT Tunstall has been absent for quite a while, but also has a welcome return. Just creeping into the tail end of the chart are some Big Names: Kings Of Leon, Lady Gaga and SIA, all dropping unexpected new singles this week, all of them not bad, but not as epic as might have been hoped on first hearing. I will be playing them more though....! Hey John!
RAT BOY  , didn't expect to see him in your chart, not gonna lie. There's been somewhat of a revival of the Brit-indie/pop trend of late, what with Blossoms, Jamie T and RAT BOY among others gaining success. Always good to have that Oasis-style British accent in a song <3 Friends and Come Alive (obviously) are both tunes. I do hope I can impress you in BJSC 89, my entry this competition is admittedly not my best - a risk not worth taking as it looks like it'll DNQ. Great chart !! |

The new Royksopp track sounds nice Nice to see Bakermat enter  Great to see Sia enter as well, really catchy I also like The Actress & Love Me Better. I'm going to have to give the Madness track a second listen before I make a judgement on that.Great chart

Hi there John
 That BJSC inspired top 2 *.* Both of that top 2 are really good of course. Agnes Obel took a few listens to properly click but now I'm getting it fully! The strings and the lower pitched vocals in particular are both such good elements to it. Yaaay at 'The Spoils' entering here! It's such a beautiful song. I think it will end up being one of my top 10 of the whole year. 'Stars', 'The Actress' and 'Sphynx' are some other really great BJSC picks. Especially the latter, I'm a bit obsessed with that one at the moment! Yaaaay Gaga just about making it here I knew from about listen three onwards that I was hooked haha Great chart! |

Good chart Hi Jason, Agnes Obel is Dandy's BJSC entry, I love it almost as much as I love mine (Kadie Elder)  Yes, Banks is the sort of classy strong pop ballad I go for, I'm getting predictable I had no idea Rag'n'Bone Man was a lumberjack - though he has the physique so I'm not surprised! There were two other BJSC tracks just outside my top 100 (and I havent the time to expand my chart even further!), one of which was your rather favoured entry, good luck with it!
