BuzzJack Music Forum _ Ariana Grande _ Does Ariana need to take a break

Posted by: Cqmerqn 22nd September 2019, 12:50 PM

I think it’s pretty obvious that the public are a bit tired of her atm. Recent songs have debuted high, but fizzled out pretty quickly! This didn’t happen during the TUN era and ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ is looking to drop outside the top 10 this week from #2!

What do you think?

Yes, I definitely think that she does need to take a break soon! I must admit that I'm very excited for the rest of the Charlie's Angels soundtrack, after loving 'Don't Call Me Angel' a lot, but after that is released she needs to take a substantial break from both releasing music and touring as it's been so non-stop on both fronts! As a huge fan, I want her to be as successful as she can be, while also not burning herself out, but right now it does feel like it's beginning to reach the point of over-saturation.

For at least a year, maybe until early 2021.

Posted by: Euphorique 22nd September 2019, 01:40 PM

Definitely. Doesnt help that the singles she's been putting out since TUN have all been mediocre too.

I think a year and half break would be enough, come back around Q3 2021 and I'm almost certain she would get back to huge success if the quality is there tbh.

If she does continue to release all the time it'll do her no favours though.

I don't think she needs to wait that long — Late Q3/Q4 2020 is enough time away for people to miss her again.

She does need a well-deserved break though. The past two singles haven't been great either.

Yeah I think she does.

Push Charlie’s soundtrack and then come back in 2020 for a new Christmas EP or new original Christmas track then release AG6 in 2021.

She’s well due a break though she’s been non stop for a year and it’s also impacted upon her personal life and mental health so a bit of a breather will do her the world of good.

People will begin to miss her when she’s on a hiatus which will be great for gearing up hype and hysteria for when she returns.

I'm going to say yes, but for her own mental health and well-being! It must be exhausting and she hasn't really switched off for ages - even the strongest of people would find it difficult let alone someone who has been through so much and has suffered mentally over the past few years.

It doesn't look like a break is coming though with the tour continuing and the Charlie's Angels soundtrack around the corner. Hmm.. Maybe the music keeps her sane and going on? Who knows ~

Yep I would say Spring 2021 would be a good time to return with a new album.

Posted by: Juliano 23rd September 2019, 03:46 AM

I'd say until Winter 2020, yes. Mainly for some her time, but also ofcourse to avoid that overexposure she is verging on right now. But God, the charts are dead of females right now, I think In the top 40 theres like 14 women and 48 men or something crazy. So in a way having her in the charts is somewhat refreshing.

I don’t think she needs to wait THAT long tbh. 2 years is a long gap!

I’d say Q3 2020 will be good

I think she would definitely benefit from a break - let the public miss her, allow herself some downtime. I find Boyfriend to be quite samey, so I’d hope a break would lead her to becoming inspired & exploring different sounds.

Posted by: kye 23rd September 2019, 07:03 PM

definitely! the good will that she currently has can quickly turn + i'd say she's currently on the verge of overkill.

the quality of her output isn't improving - it's sounding same-y and that won't go down well if carries on. finish the tour + then have a break.

this

not only for herself, but also cos i think she's just everywhere right now and just releasing music every 2 seconds. if she waits a year or 2 she'd be able to take care of herself whilst also reading hype for new material

wish rihanna would have the same strategy as ari rn tbh tho sad.gif

Posted by: f 25th September 2019, 03:07 PM

as long as she wants to continue with it then why not

a break doesn't mean she'll return with better material. look at Drake. releasing shit (and i mean shit) almost non-stop since like 2015 but no one is asking him the same questions...

Yes. The music has been shit too, which hasn't helped.

Posted by: Jack 25th September 2019, 05:36 PM

I meant to say Q3 2020, and I OOP at the typo

Posted by: Jack 25th September 2019, 05:37 PM

And trust me I would love a break from Drake but no bats a eyelid at that!

because she’s a pop artist + the tide will always turn. she’s already starting to lose a little momentum (#13 debut?) and as much as she says it doesn’t matter, if she starts to ‘flop’ with her peaks it won’t be good for her. she needs to let people miss her!

She’s got a feature on the new Demi lovato song. Scooter made it happen and announced it on twitter

Posted by: Medellíam 25th September 2019, 07:16 PM

I've not had a problem with her big presence the past couple of years, it's more the rate that she fires out new music and doesn't give eras enough time to breathe. The reluctancy to continue an album campaign once the album is released is annoying, especially when there's so much good material that could be released and there's demand there from fans.

He said a big collab was coming, he didn't specifically mention Ariana & Demi lol.

The music she's been putting out lately just hasn't been good at all so I certainly wouldn't be opposed to her taking a break
