It airs on The CW every Thursday at 9 PM EST.
This is actually pretty decent so far. A bit Gossip Girl (on Jughead's side) and a bit PLL (on Archie's side) but pretty cool. KJ is BEYOND. Veronica is probably my favorite character currently.
Quite aside from KJ being INSANELY GORGEOUS, this does have a really interesting vibe. The CW really do know how to put a twist on comic book shows and make them work.
Gonna watch the first episode later tonight, actually really looking forward to it, especially if it's a bit of gossip girl and pll since they are faves
I came for Cole Sprouse and stayed for KJ and Beronica
just finished the episode and it was really good!! Looking forward to a new one next week
YESSSSS ALANNA
btw echo your comment about Veronica! She is fav right now, and Archie too
Beronica are my new ship idec altho their faux kiss was v karmy on faking it so I'm hoping one of them realises they're not straight, my money is on veronica *.*
This was so good, very pll but I like the novel/narration element too and ofc the amount of ginger rep
the funny thing is KJ has Samoan heritage but is playing a ginger here
I knew he wasn't a natural ginge, the eyebrows gave it away
Camila Mendes is bae tbh

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH
wait did you not know it was on netflix?? that's where I watched it last night
See I assume that y'all watch everything that's new on a bootleg streaming site like putlocker
(so yeah ~ )
oh no I definitely use putlocker but some gods came along and gave us this on netflix thankfully
Yea I watched it on Netflix too, I got a notification for it *.*
Archie *.* Shipping him and the music teacher
A solid first episode, enough mystery to keep me coming back
Think I need to start this as have heard so many people talking about this over the last few days!
Are all the episodes up now or is it one episode weekly?!
One episode a week, I believe every Friday so the second episode should be up in 5 days time
I watched the first episode and really enjoyed it really good ending and likeable characters
I hate how shows like this and Pretty Little Liars etc where there's a student/teacher relationship but you ship it??? Like it's wrong but on TV it seems okay :')
Even with that Archie/Grundy is basically a weaker Ezria soz
I loved this 😍 Can't wait for the rest. I'm so used to binge-watching things on Netflix now, feels weird having to wait a week for the next episode. Veronica is amazing – she was giving me Lucy Watson vibes, which is never a bad thing.
This is fab!! Loved the first episode! Betty and Veronica are my favourites, both of them are incredible!
Also Archie is 🔥 *.*
VERONICA *.*
I watched this because of the buzz and it was a decent first episode. Wasn't slow like a lot of first episodes and set up the rest of the season well.
Archie's body is perfection, who doesn't love a happy trail!
about to watch the second episode! im so freakin excited!!
I just finished it, this show is SO good and I'm f/f trash
Veronica is everything
This is so trashy but at least I am willing to give another episode a chance
If every episode is going to open with Archie in his underwear I am sold
ahhh that was so good I just wish I could binge it all
hahaha Lindsey this was me when Veronica gave Betty flowers, then came in and was all "yellow is for friendship":
Ikr! Like casually giving a girl flowers and going on milkshake dates, making vows, totally platonic
"I wanna be with Betty... One again fate has thrown us together" Veronica PLEASE
I KNOW!! way to play it cool V, totally fooled her
Cheryl is legit insane. I kinda like it.
ALL THIS BERONICA MADNESS *.* From the flowers to the milkshakes. Pretty sure that Romeo & Juliet line was about them too v. "forget Archie, we can be girlfriends instead"
Please tell me it's as gay as I'm interpreting it Cody, theres so many hints like that whole when the person you like doesn't like you back thing and letting a boy get between them
I also don't like the grundy thing now, get that away, I feel like Cheryl abd Jason were a bit too close as well... Like what siblings hold hands and share milkshakes and go on boat rides together :////
it's 100% gonna be incest and cheryl was jealous of polly
Why is everything incest with you
How could he have been shot July 4th but dead a week later, unless the gun Archie heard wasn't the one that killed him???
I think there was some ploy for him to fake his death and him and Cheryl could run away and be together
Lotti what did you do to us
i think lindsey has it there, remember cheryl saying "he was meant to come back"
Ok Archie in his underwear was the highlight of the ep. I thought the 2nd ep was a little dull. The Archie/Grundy thing isn't very well done at all. I see what he is getting out of it being a teenager banging his hot teacher but she doesn't seem very smitten with him and surely she could find herself another hot guy to bang if it was mainly sex.
Veronica I want to like but it's not clicking with me yet. She says all the right things but it just doesn't seem genuine.
I wanna know what the HELL Cheryl is planning by getting herself arrested
Omg Veronica is my fave, she's like an amazing mix of Santana Lopez and Mona Vanderwaal *.*
Veronica is an ultter queen love her I also love cheryl
BUT OF COURSE THAT FIRST SCENE WITH ARCHIE IN HIS BOXERS
what the shit is going on
about to watch it now!
okay well something is happening with Betty, do you think they are just gonna brush that hot tub scene as the heat of the moment sort of thing or actually develop it into some mental problem? Also, Veronica's face when Betty walked out to the hot tub I was living for Veronica the first half of the episode, she wasn't taking no shit and the sass!! YOU GO GIRL
Wait, I forgot what Betty was taking the pills for during the pilot, anxiety?
If so I think Betty with a mental condition may have been hinted. One of the symptoms might be anxiety and it might be hereditary but skips a generation (so her mother might be a carrier and it would explain why Polly went all psycho).
VERONICA MY FEMINIST QUEEN
Would it be possible to have Betty actually be Polly and Veronica is right about the dual personality thing? idk but I was living for Veronica yet again *.* Her hot tub scenes...
ALSO ETHEL IS BARB
I wasn't so sure of this show when I watched the pilot but I'm glad I've stuck with it and I love the direction it's going! It's like my new replacement for Revenge *.*
this is really getting incredible now- I'm so hooked
I'm really impressed with how they're layering up their characters, giving them more depth than what their stereotyped personas suggest and sort of poking fun at how bloody typical the American high school set up is. I don't think a lot of people get that that's the point, it's meant to be typical, nothing special until the events surrounding Jason death occurred. This has so much potential, I just hope they don't mess it up via the writing which the CW is often guilty of. Maybe the fact Netflix is involved it will help, it seems to so far! It's been so long since I actually looked forward to watching something weekly, this is defo my new fave rn
Just watched the episode and I love Veronica such a feminist queen and I am loving this alter ego for Betty
http://myrantsandramblings.tumblr.com/post/157088594169/riverdale-my-new-obsession
SO META. I really love how self aware the show is in terms of the usual tropes. I do think Kevin is going to get serious character development in the future, especially with him not only dealing with his sexuality (is he still in the closet around family? What did he tell his dad about finding Jason's body?) but possibly being a core player in solving the mystery for Jughead and Betty. Reggie could use some development too, he's petty big in the comics' canon afaia.
I feel like Cheryl as the social media voice of the universe might poke fun at the B&V relationship (moreso in the "I prefer the name Beronica" sense). #TeamBVC
3rd ep was much better than the 2nd. Archie took a back seat (bar another showing of flesh which is always welcome) which I think was needed to let other characters breathe and have their moment and plot.
The episode gave Betty a lot more depth but in a bad way (good tv way though).
Glad Barb is ok
this is fandab
the more I watch this the more I love Beronica
here for Grundy getting EXPOSEDT YAS + lmaoooooo Archie is f*cking DERANGED as always. Betty's mom can choke honestly, my least favorite character I've ever seen.
also here for greaser legacy Jughead
Omg Beronica slay me constantly easily my favourite friendship. Grundy getting exposed *.* The gay character is growing on me *.* Betty's mum is my least fave just bleh
Kevin has so much potential and I'm living for his character tbh
Veronica remains to be everything, Betty is growing on me a lot too *.*
jughead is becoming a fav*.*
actually you know what let's do a first impressions rate bc I'm bored
xx.x Archie Andrews
xx.x Betty Cooper
xx.x Veronica Lodge
xx.x Jughead Jones
xx.x Cheryl Blossom
xx.x Josie McCoy
xx.x Fred Andrews
xx.x Alice Cooper
xx.x Hermione Lodge
xx.x Kevin Keller
xx.x Reggie Mantle
xx.x Moose Mason
xx.x Geraldine Grundy/Jennifer Gibson
idk who else to add
Thank god Miss Grundy has gone, what a wet drip of a character. Also they were a bit quick to just accept her story, I mean she actually could be Jason's killer.
Every time I see Veronicas mum I think Charisma Carpenter was made for that role.
Skeet Ulrich is looking very hot the older he gets.
Alice Cooper was incredible as Wendy in Witches of East End though!
Alice needs to be f*cking FLUSHED
06.5 Archie Andrews
09.0 Betty Cooper
11.0 Veronica Lodge
10.0 Jughead Jones
8.0 Cheryl Blossom
05.0 Josie McCoy
05.0 Fred Andrews
-1.0 Alice Cooper
08.0 Hermione Lodge
08.0 Kevin Keller
03.0 Reggie Mantle
04.0 Moose Mason
01.0 Geraldine Grundy/Jennifer Gibson
veronica turning me tho
Betty's mum can piss right off.
I LOVE Alice, she's not been made to be sympathetic in any way but you KNOW there's a deep seated emotional VOID inside of her waiting to be explored. They hinted at it in this episode of course with her feeling that she's a failure as a mother, which only makes her push Betty away still further by trying to protect her. Definitely a lot more interesting than any of the other parents.
I'm very glad Miss Grundy has been vanquished, although I cannot fault her for her flawless taste in just legal hotties that whole storyline was such a drag and they had zero chemistry. She will undoubtedly be back at some point to kick up a stink but I'll forget about that for now.
B+V are obviously LIFE, but I'm really enjoying the quiet way they've dealt with Kevin and his sexuality. The conversation with his dad this week was great and I usually struggle to warm to gay characters in most TV shows. Plus Cheryl constantly makes me smile with just HOW cliche she is.
07.5 Archie Andrews (10 for APPEARANCE, 5 for personality, averaging out at a 7.5)
11.0 Betty Cooper
10.0 Veronica Lodge
08.0 Jughead Jones

08.0 Hermione Lodge
08.0 Kevin Keller
05.0 Reggie Mantle (tbf we havent seen much of Reggie or Moose)
04.0 Moose Mason
05.5 Geraldine Grundy/Jennifer Gibson
The quick conversation between Kevin and his dad was great to see on TV. It was the sort of conversation dads have with their straight kids.
06.0 Archie Andrews
10.0 Betty Cooper
11.0 Veronica Lodge
10.0 Jughead Jones
10.0 Cheryl Blossom
08.0 Josie McCoy
06.0 Fred Andrews
-1.0 Alice Cooper
07.5 Hermione Lodge
08.5 Kevin Keller
04.0 Reggie Mantle
03.0 Moose Mason
00.0 Geraldine Grundy/Jennifer Gibson
Grundy is almost as bad as freaking Shower Harvey. I think out of all the low scorers Reggie has the most potential for development.
I'm becoming such Cheryl trash and I'm proud of it
I kind of want Hermione to go all boss ass bitch gansta on us
chery and jason were totally banging
MOLLY RINGWALD IS IN THIS OH MY f***ING GOD
OMG I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND OUT BILLY LOOMIS himself Skett Ulrich has been on!! How did I not realise it was him!
"Cheryl invited you, I have no idea why you're here"
More of the Blossom family please
I'm thinking Valerie is who Archie ends up with at the end of the season, there's more chemistry between them than with him and either of Betty or Veronica and that's a pairing I can get behind tbh not to mention she's hella pretty too *.*
I'm really loving the Cheryl/Veronica and Jughead/Betty dynamics as well
I like how the group members can go off in different directions like cheryl going with Veronica....Jugghead and Betty
Valarie and Archie pls get together
Ugh, the Archie Football / Music thing is basically just Finn from Glee's storyline again
That being said, another fab episode! I cannot wait to finally get to meet Polly
I'm predicting some sort of fallout within the Blossom family. Penelope can honestly be flushed too. What is with the moms, Hermione aside, always acting like the second coming of Mean Girls? The Cheryl/Veronica dynamics are playing really well, maybe we're shaping up for a possible BVC team up? They're like the Powerpuff Girls
I need more of an explanation on the connection between the Lodges and The Serpents
veronica is an ANGEL
betty is rlly annoying me
God this episode was so CAMPY it was delicious. Penelope Blossom was bringing the ICE COLD c**t so hard this episode I couldn't help but have some level of admiration, and lets be honest who WOULDN'T want to inappropriately touch Archibald at a memorial service for their dead son?
I really warmed to Jughead this episode too, the whole romance thing isn't really of any concern to me but I do quite like Valerie because she feels like a character and not just a plot device.
I wasn't majorly keen on that episode. The Archie story line of music or football just seems so stupid, I mean surely he has enough time to do both!
Veronica is such a great character, the best on the show by some way.
The Polly thing is dragging a little for me now, 5 eps in and it has been teased a lot when she finally gets some screen time it better be worth it.
I don't know what to make a Cheryl, at some points I think the writers want us to feel sorry for her and then a minute later will write her being a complete and utter bitch, it is kind of hard to know what to feel towards her.
Overall I am enjoying it and the weekly dose of Archie with minimal clothing is a blessing, the ratings for this episode though were not good. Maybe people are feeling like I am a little that the actual plot is moving very slowly.
Reggie getting some minimal development tho
can every episode start like that?
HOLY SHIT
I don't think i posted my theory here but Lotti can vouch for me, I predicted that!!!
SO GOOD
I DON'T LIKE ROMANTIC BUGHEAD
I AM however curious as to how the Polly arc is going to play. I think the same person who burned down Jason's getaway car also (and this is purely hypothetical) kidnapped Polly or worse. I saw some blood stains on one of the window fragments which implies some sort of injury. Eerily the Blossoms were also absent during this episode. Hmmmmm... What Cheryl said to Betty around Ep. 3 about Jason "hurting" Polly says otherwise so I'm not thinking it's her ... definitely think it's one of the parents.
ArchieXValerie giving me The Voice teas with Alicia Keys as Archie's coach
Hmmmmm the Polly thing was a bit as I feared, not really worth the 5 eps of build up. I don't think I care if we never see her again really.
Archie was wearing way too many clothes this episode.
I'm actually finding Veronica's mum and Archie's dad the most interesting thing right now outside the 'who killed Jason' plot.
renewed for a second season!
YES!!!!
I hope season 2 focuses more on Jughead than Archie
are you insane
I want more depth for Archie next season tbh
jughead >>>>
This season barely even focuses on Archie, if anything the main arc is centered around Betty/Cheryl.
Jughead is basically the show's Stiles. He'll get major character development for most of the season anyway, no matter which season and how far along we're in it.
I think the renewal was wise. The show has a very 'tell your friend about it being a guilty pleasure and they stream it over its break and season 2 ratings come back bigger' feeling.
3 week break after this week's episode
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG NO 3 WEEKS?!?!
Jughead is quickly becoming my fave, along with Veronica ofc... I need more of her, I think her and Kevin could have a really good dynamic too so I hope they show more of that *.*
i think jughead is my fav now???????
Was anyone else feeling that this episode was a bit meh?
Veronica slaying everything though.
Character rank
Veronica>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jug Head >> Betty >> Archie > Cheryl >Kevin>>>>>>>>>>>the other irrelevants
Just got round to watching this the other day, three episodes in and I'm loving it!
Veronica is my favourite character, her friendship with Betty is the best thing about the show so far.
Was hoping for some development between Kevin and Moose but that ship seems to have sunk very quickly!
The only character I don't like is Reggie.
Jughead breaks my heart omfg he's my fave now
jugheads dad>>>>>>>
omg
I actually can't take this withdrawal
i need it
FINALLY got around to watching this! Binge-watched it over the past 2 days. Super enjoyable for the most part, campy/trashy in a good way.
(Poor Craig, if I'd said to him one more time that I'd watch it "soon" I think he would have exploded. )
A few thoughts, none of which will be original x
- Archie in a state of undress will never get boring, hot damn!
- Veronica is everything - she's my favourite character at this point. It was a done deal by Episode 3 tbh... Queen of feminism! She's stunning too.
- I'm liking Kevin a lot. I'm hoping his character is explored in greater detail soon & that he becomes integral to the show, fingers crossed he's a main cast member for Season 2 rather than recurring. The scene with his Dad was great, it was nice to see total acceptance/caring attitude from a parent towards their gay son from the off. Also https://68.media.tumblr.com/9d79e840a3b693afd15344a9eda64a2c/tumblr_oli3n7Dcw31vakf4uo1_400.gif, you snooze you lose, Moose!
- CHERYL. Oh my goodness. Completely & brilliantly insane; she commands attention in every scene she's in.
- Jughead & Betty are admittedly cute together, but prior to that development I'd not been getting vibes that he was interested in her, or anyone for that matter, so I was quite surprised by it.
- I'm glad that the writers remembered to make interesting parent characters. I feel like Betty's mom received a hard time in this topic but I find her behaviour and motives to be intriguing!
- I found the Archie/Ms Grundy story line to be uncomfortable and unconvincing - I'm glad that wrapped up pretty quickly. Although perhaps in one sense a little too quickly - his dad seemingly brushing this incident under the carpet doesn't ring true. Definitely the weakest plot line so far, hoping it doesn't make a return. Archie's "sports or music" dilemma plot has been a bit on the dull side too, but I'm happy about the fact that it's brought him and Valerie together. They're a great pairing... I sensed some genuine chemistry there which was completely lacking in scenes with Ms Grundy.
March 30th, hurry up pls. I feel impatient and I only have 5 days to wait since I finished the most recent episode, how have you guys coped with the 3 week hiatus?!
TONIGHT/TOMORROW
I'M CRYING PLZ HELP
This was definitely Alice's redemption episode. A bit AGOG @ Polly's dad suggesting abortion and good for her to stand up to him. The whole Cooper/Blossom West Side Story vibe is still intriguing, we'll see how it plays out next episode.
Jughead's dad seems very shady now
I don't know whether to be KevinXMoose or KevinXJoaquin, so glad there was more of the former though
Also that episode is how I think a Lottsey baby shower would be
Alice has grown on me due to this episode
Alice was incredible this episode.
Cheryl had like 4 words and she still stole the show.
I am LOVING bughead omg they are so cute!!! and I echo the comments about Alice, finally doing the right thing for a change, I'm not sure I like how Polly chose the blossoms tho
I don't blame her one bit. Her mum sent her to the loony bin and he dad was going to pay for an abortion.
she should have just stayed at haus of lodge
Alice still seems sketch as well
all of the parents bar Hermione are sketch tbh
fred can sketch me anytime tbh
draw me like one of your french girls
Cheryl and the bloody pram
Yea I warmed to Alice so much more this episode, I was kinda sad to see Polly not end up going home though. Tbh why would you even consider living anywhere else when you have the option to stay with Veronica
god damn cheryl this is a banquet not THE BACHELOR
the Beronica moments though I am DECEASED
!!!!!!! @ the Blossoms having something to do with the Lodges
Next week: Shirtless Archie!!!!!! + some drinking and Molly Ringwald returns to TV!
time to wait for Harry to pm me asking if it's thursday yet
cheryl channeling her inner me in wanting to bang fred*.*
omg Cheryl is providing so many essential one liners, I actually love her so much
hyped for next week, I've heard that this is actually the sleepover episode and it's been kinda bigged up by the cast as well saying it was their fave to film so i'm excited to see what all thats about *.* was I the only one thinking the only reason Archie was invited to the Blossom events was because he's ginger? I wish people would buy me fancy things bc of my hair colour tbh
started watching this
yass
I knew it was going to end with something like that!
is this the season finale?! (i'm yet to watch)
I think we still have 2 to go?
oh mess haha, i got confused by what u meant by ending
oooooops
(you'll get what I mean when you watch )
also I stan Alice. #SorryNotSorry
Archie killed Jason is my theory
omg i stan alice so much now
I'm going off Jughead tbh, he's become so selfish and like that line about Archie's music making ppl want to slit their wrists "in the good way" that was kinda gross
i KNOW the way he went off at betty was so unfair (btw i absolutely stan her now)
FINALLY GOT TO THIS
Does anyone else think Cheryl tipped the sheriff and planted the gun in FP's closet? She was the only person not present while Archie and Veronica were performing.
Josie should have been in that "Kids In America" cover, Camila's voice sounded like Isabella from Phineas and Ferb, there were no harmonies whatsoever, and idk what was up but I don't think KJ's voice is suited for that type of sound at all.
I'm not f***ing here for this Flowers In The Attic shit
WAIT WHAT
okay I'm SHOOK
Buzzjack Riverdale clique after this episode
I still found this so boring lmao it's so overrated I've just stopped caring
Kind of an anti-climax
that was great
That was a good episode but I was kinda disappointed with it being Clifford, I was convinced half way through that Jaoquin would be revealed as FPs secret son and he was doing it to protect him, or maybe even if it was Jughead, it would have made more sense and woulda been better imo
omg that episode was amazing!!! i loved the whole twist with the cooper's actually being blossom's, that was amazing and so unexpected I didn't expect jason's dad to have killed him but it's starting to make sense as to why he did it if the whole maple syrup thing is actually drugs
lmao @ how they handled KJ's broken wrist
THEY CAN'T LEAVE IT THERE LIKE THEY JUST CAN'T
FFS THAT'S SO CRUEL
NO THAT ENDING
im gone
Season 2 is going to be fab *.*
Such a great first season!
who will i lust after now
I don't think Fred is going to die. If you look closely you can see that the bullet hit his side so he'll definitely need medical care, and I think this will tie in to his arc for the next season because he's not going to be surveying the construction site anymore due to injury (if anything he'll be cooped up in his office) so he'll probably send Hermione out to check on them. However, Hermione is shady as f*ck so it's going to create some tension between him and the Lodges. Also, the small scene between Mary and Hermione (+ the bits and pieces of Fremione interaction during the early episodes) suggests that the parents' history with each other will play out as the next huge plot.
It's interesting how the writers managed to fit in so much into the season finale despite it being an aftermath episode rather than a climax. I think all throughout Season 1 they have hid a ton of Easter eggs alluding to the comic franchise, which should be taken with a grain of salt. Fred getting shot is actually an allusion to the conclusion of the old Archie era, which revealed that adult Archie would be killed by a bullet while trying to save Kevin.
Saying that, what are your hopes for the second season?
beronica/cheronica
