Yes and that they might be performing it at the Billboards on Sunday!

NOT KATY DROPPING A HOUSE BOP AND GIVING NICKI LIKE 3 VERSES

YASSSSSSS, you know what, honestly speaking, I am missing Katy who would consistently deliver an anthemic chorus but I am LOVING how different she is playing this era and I am here for an experimental album where I don't know what I'm gonna get. Katy doesn't deliver club bops on the regular but now she feels like dabbling her hand in it and I AM SO HERE FOR THAT.

Swish swish bitch, another one in the basket x

Posted by: mdh 19th May 2017, 06:48 AM

Swish Swish is so much better than Bon Appétit omg! Total mess that they've given it the same Spotify support as BA tho, but not complaining and I didn't expect a song with DUKE DUMONT of all people laugh.gif

Awesome <3

Posted by: Cremey 19th May 2017, 06:52 AM

Loving 'Swish Swish' on first listen. Can't get enough of the chorus (if it is the chorus?)
Nicki's great in it too. Her first verse sounds exactly like her 'Run Up' one though, ha.

Posted by: ~josh~ 19th May 2017, 07:01 AM

f***ing hell, it's like a mix of a generic dance song and Swalla!! Finding it hard to stan this era drama.gif

Slay at Nicki's verse tho!!

Posted by: Yeasty Clutch 19th May 2017, 07:08 AM

It just gets WORSE!!

Even worse than Bon Appetit.

What ees thees!!!! Explain, EXPLAIN

Posted by: ~josh~ 19th May 2017, 07:11 AM

I thought the cherry pie lyrics in BA were cheesy enough too but 'swish swish bish'?!? She sounds like a meme laugh.gif

Posted by: Yeasty Clutch 19th May 2017, 07:13 AM

I'm out.

See y'all next era ... if she continues post-meltdown.

This is going to be Spirit Indestructible levels of falling from grace.

Posted by: danG 19th May 2017, 07:32 AM

WOW at 'Swish Swish'. Interesting to hear Katy go full-on house banger.

Posted by: Joe. 19th May 2017, 07:40 AM

This era is really exciting and interesting. I stopped stanning for her a bit over Prism and the Rise made me so upset with how bad it was but these three songs have been fresh, different and exciting.

I'm glad she's not on auto pilot because her formula would have started to get tired.

Posted by: awardinary 19th May 2017, 07:49 AM

in case it's not been realised yet, it heavily samples Fatboy Slim – Star 69.

Posted by: lewistgreen 19th May 2017, 07:56 AM

Holy shit Swish Swish is amazing!

Posted by: J▲hq 19th May 2017, 07:57 AM

Not huge on the hook with the title but otherwise I'm liking this one, MILES better than Bon Appetit which has not grown at all when hearing it on the radio. Loving Nicki and also the pre-chorus/hook bit.

Posted by: Klaus 19th May 2017, 08:09 AM

Is the album just full of rap features?

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 19th May 2017, 08:46 AM

Duke Dumont and 2014 sounding seems like she may finally have something I can get properly on board with this era. Sucks I can't hear it until I get home this evening. sad.gif

SWISH SWISH IS LIFE CHANGING

Posted by: Jonjo 19th May 2017, 09:11 AM

It's def the weakest of the 3 songs so far for me (but then again, I've never been a fan of the house sound completely anyway) but I do really like it!

Agreed with Rob on every point pretty much, tbh!

Posted by: Davidson 19th May 2017, 09:23 AM

This is f***ing brilliant.

I don't care if this era flops. This is the most exciting Katy's music has ever been for me, including in the 'Teenage Dream' era.

I really appreciate when someone as big as her really pushes herself like these new songs are doing. There is a lovely carefree "f*** it" type attitude to just releasing what she wants, and this seems particularly free in that way.

I'm jammin.

Posted by: liamk97 19th May 2017, 10:03 AM

So 'Swish Swish' is actually produced by Duke Dumont? It doesn't sound like him to me, I'm getting 'Girls Like' vibes from the beat.

As for the song, I can feel myself really getting into this. Said beat is ridiculously catchy and makes me want to start bopping along.

He tweeted that he's honoured to have produced it!

omg its a Taylor Swift diss track! Not overly keen on it though, can't help but cringe at 'swish swish bish'. It's like she's trying to start a meme.

Funny everyone here loves Swish Swish but disliked Bon Appetit. I still prefer Bon Appetit, even if I do like this a lot.

Posted by: Tombo 19th May 2017, 11:29 AM

I really wanna hear this, y'all are hyping it up a lot!

Posted by: Liаm 19th May 2017, 11:31 AM

I think this and BA are about equal for me, but this will probably overtake. CTTR is still my fave but this album is shaping up so well! I agree she just seems to be doing what she wants and I love when artists do that.

Posted by: JosephStyles🐶 19th May 2017, 11:32 AM

The production of Swish Swish feels quite dated to me but Katy and Nicki are both on top form wub.gif

Absolutely loving both Bon Appetit and Swish Swish, Katy Perry better get it gurl! w00t.gif

Posted by: RobBob 19th May 2017, 01:40 PM

DEFINITELY agree that this is the most instant so far, it's the first of the three that's hit me from first listen and I am genuinely hooked on it. So so glad Katy/Nicki hasn't disappointed me even if it isn't what I expected it to be.

Posted by: Davidson 19th May 2017, 01:54 PM

I think this will be more than a promo single.

They are confirmed to be performing it at The Billboard Music Awards this weekend and Nicki has been liking tweets from fans saying "they can't wait for the video", so it looks like a music video is definitely in the works.

The UK better eat this up.

Nicki likes literally everything I swear. But still I don't think you're wrong, I can't see this staying a "promo single" status for very long. Has Billboard actually been confirmed or is it just Nicki tagging everything "#BBMA" on Twitter?

Posted by: RobBob 19th May 2017, 04:05 PM

Well, Nicki is doing Light My Body Up and Swalla as far as I know, but she might well pop up for Katy or something, I have no idea.

omg I agree.

'Swish Swish' is a tune. The video has also enhanced 'Bon Appétit' for me and 'Chained for the Rhythm' is really good if I ignore the lyrics.

Katy has never been more interesting.

This era reminds me of the 'Dangerous Woman' era and that was one of my favorite albums last year wub.gif .

Posted by: Cremey 19th May 2017, 05:45 PM

Yeah, I've never been more excited for a Katy album either. All three so far are absolute fire.

Posted by: Atonement 19th May 2017, 05:52 PM

But apparently she has said that there are quite a few ballads on the new album so yeah, there's that....

Great avatar. One of my fav bodies albums. A classic.

Posted by: Cremey 19th May 2017, 06:11 PM

Such a huge contrast to 'Prism''s pre-album singles. I love them both but they were very safe.
Some of her ballads are her best! Some of them are hideous though, she's a bit hit and miss with them for me.

'Voodoo' heart.gif
Such a classic. And a lovely body too.

Posted by: Jonjo 19th May 2017, 06:34 PM

Is this Nicki's best verse since 'Monster'? I think so!

I think I'm starting to prefer this to CTTR already! It goes in hard and I LOVE that!

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 19th May 2017, 07:34 PM

This is actually decent! It's nice to hear her on a proper 'dance' (esque) track, I think the closest we had previously was 'Walking On Air'?

A few cringey lyrics, but then this is Katy Perry we're talking about. A big step up from 'Bon Appétit'!

tho.... three feats in a row... cmon

Posted by: ~josh~ 19th May 2017, 08:18 PM

I'm glad y'all are enjoying this but it's still not growing on me (I basically only like Nicki's verse!) but I am kind of hoping it is a bit of a Dark Horse situation where it blows up as a promo track and ends up getting the single treatment because she could definitely do with a hit right now!

If there really are lots of ballads as Atonement says then I hope we get one soon so I can get back on board if it it's cute like Lost, Not Like the Movies, By the Grace of God etc !! Would be nice to get a SOLO single too from her :')

Also yay at Jonjo recognising Nicki's opus as Monster but she'd had so many fire verses since as a guest feature!! The Creep, Make Me Proud, Flawless (Remix), Throw Sum Mo, All Eyes on You are all AMAZING wub.gif

Posted by: Yeasty Clutch 19th May 2017, 08:50 PM

I think this might be one of my favourite songs by her such a BOP !!! I need this to smash please .

Posted by: burbe 20th May 2017, 05:17 PM

Surprised they're pushing this as a single already ohmy.gif Poor Bon Appetit getting stepped on, but I guess it makes sense with it being awful and flopping so much.

I really like this, still no where near the quality of Chained to the Rhythm but at least it's song I can actually enjoy ~

Yeah, I agree it's sad. But like I said when Bon Appétit was flopping I think it's more about Katy and her name and lack of interest than anything else. Radios in the US just are not playing her at all. Her main audience is the causal listeners and if they don't hear it they won't buy it.

Posted by: Cucumberella 21st May 2017, 03:42 PM

i'm really sick of popstars using drag queens as well just cos it's in the mainstream - it's really lazy, katy just had them walking really awkwardly and not doing anything lmao it not only didn't add anything to the performance but was supposed to make the performance for her

When have Katy's TV perfomances ever been praised? She always gets savaged. As far as her performances go, that's one of the more entertaining ones imo.

She tweeted that drag queens/club kids were there to be a shout out to her LGBT family, (after speaking up about it at the Human Rights gala last month) Yes the drag queens could have done something a bit more exciting but a lot of them tweeted about being so excited to perform on SNL - a huge, mainstream opportunity Queens rarely get. Drag Queens being seen more in the mainstream is a huge plus and I hope more artists continue give them these opportunities.

Love this performance. I thought it was fun and suited the song really nicely!

Has this actually been confirmed as a single, if so then...why have all the songs from this era so far have been features, does that mean that the solo songs aren't strong enough or what, it is quite a worrying sign. As for this song however it is far better than 'BA', but dunno how I really feel about it yet, needs time to grow on me. Maybe this is a tester to see how it does on the charts, and if it does well, then it probably will be a single. Kinda like what they did with 'DH', but honestly can't see this catching on as well as that did.

Little Mix 2/4 singles this era have had features, 7/27 singles 5H 2/3 and even Katy in TD had Kanye and Snoop Dog. I would imagine her and her team are just putting the features out because they're the most interesting tracks.

If you want something that's not tacky, Katy's the wrong popstar. This is the woman who brings out the "big big big big balloons" for her birthday and wants to see your "pea-cock-cock-cock-cock". Katy is corny.

Yess! This is the best way I've seen it described yet! I can't really defend Peacock because that's pretty bad too but tracks like Birthday which are cheesy but also catchy af bops are a lot of fun whereas hot messes with cheesy lyrics are just embarrassing and she's not doiny anything to sell them with these performances.

BA is really growing on me actually but it's still one of her worst singles ever. I really want to like Swish Swish but it's just kinda... bad sad.gif

I don't think the Little Mix features and Kanye on E.T are totally the same, because they had solo versions on the album and were post-album singles given a different mix to help them sell a bit more when people have already bought the album, that's a bit different to these pre-album singles IMO.

That's my least favourite part of the song too but even that I'm coming round to with repeated listens. The "so keep calm honey imma stick around.." bit is one of my favourite musical moments of this year.

i really don't think the first point is much of an excuse tbh cos i'm not going upon everyone else's opinions, i'm going on mine - someone who has had time to improve their performances and pretty much really on staging etc. to MAKE it happen should actually have a better plan in place - there's no excuse that anything but her vocals / dancing ability (and even then really she should be doing decently with these (vocals were okay)) should be bad...

i like that drag queens have got exposure in any form don't get me wrong but it's not like miley where each drag queen had their own choreographed part and really got a chance to show off their skills, were named in articles specifically etc. it just seems a bit of a random and pretty ill-conceived inclusion because the song sounded vaguely 90's house

it's a shame cos i love katy and i LOVE corny her but i just think i'm cringing for all the wrong reasons with her atm sad.gif

Posted by: 360Jupiter 22nd May 2017, 09:28 PM

I really have no idea what the album will be like.

At least, saving grace, she's released the singles in this order. Swish Swish would have been a TERRIBLE choice for lead comeback single, or even for direct follow-up to CTTR.

Performance sold me on it a wee bit more but I can't shake the feeling that its two songs stitched together. Also the Nicki feature is a double edged sword as she sounds much more comfortable on the beat than Katy does.

I was actually commenting on the 'she's putting out the three features first because they are the most interesting tracks on the album' line. If that's the case, then it isn't a good sign for the album.

Songs like these usually aren't my cup of tea AT ALL but something about this just works. It was awful on first listen but by the third I was sold. I think this will be her first big hit (big by her standards as CTTR did fine) off the album, especially in America. It has held up well this week on iTunes and is already #41 on pop radio -- Bon Appetit only made it to #35 as an official single.

Bon Appetit first week run: 15-15-22-37-51-63-71
Swish Swish first week run: 14-14-18-15-14-21-18

I cringe at the intro though.

Posted by: Dusty Muffin 3rd June 2017, 02:27 PM

This is actually quite good I think, wasn't expecting Katy Perry to do a house influenced song. The instrumental I suppose is a bit like the one in 'Girls Like' by Zara Larsson/Tinie Tempah but I prefer the one in Swish Swish.

This is awful. Worst thing she has EVER done. It is unlistenable, even worse than This is How We Do.

Bon Appetit is much better.

When pop archaeologists dissect her career in a few years, they will say releasing This Is How We Do followed by Rise was her downfall.

For me it's coming VERY close to topping her verse on Side to Side. I'd love them to collab again on Nicki's album even if this is still fresh!

Posted by: Slick 11th June 2017, 09:22 AM

Despite my previous comments, this song has grown into quite the tune. Nicki's section is one of the best Minaj raps on ANY song.

Still holding out hope that this could pick up and do something for her. I understand why Bon Appetit didn't even if I adore it but this really does feel like it has everything for a summer smash to me and I just hope people can get behind it even if she seems to have fallen out of favour with the public somewhat at the moment.

What I do like about it though is the intentional complete mess of it all, like it seems like it's deliberately taking on the polar opposite of Bad Blood in being the worst squad ever and being completely unpolished. But, there's too many ideas and the execution of it all just leads to a mess of a plot, so much so that I'm not sure what it is. Kinda fun but it's a struggle sad.gif

This actually makes sense, especially if you take into account that Taylor bashed the media in Blank Space.

The video is a complete mess. But then again, that's the Internet. Comedic cameos, an utterly cringeworthy plot, and most importantly... dank memes. Backpack Kid and the Shooting Stars memes have been around for a while (Doug The Pug as well), and I think there may be more than can be spotted if you look hard enough. This is Katy celebrating the Internet, cringe and all.

#SwishSwishChallenge coming soon maybe?

Posted by: StillJupiter 24th August 2017, 04:04 PM

Jeeeezus Christ. What a hot mess. But I actually liked it. She has embraced her crapness and gone full circle. I don't at all think it was planned but she's done well t try and turn everything around by being in on and running with the joke of this era being a disaster for her.

As another note I'm really surprised she got Nicki to appear in it. When 'Nicki' first showed up wearing the visor I thought they'd hired a body double.

Posted by: Cremey 24th August 2017, 04:04 PM

I actually quite like it. It's obviously an intentional mess like others have already said.
I think they think it's funnier than it is though...it gets a bit tiring seeing people being hit in the face with a basketball on repeat. Definitely could've been executed better but it's fun. Plus Nicki looks sensational.

Yeah, I agree. It's definitely not as funny as they think it is, but it's still humourous!

Nicki does indeed look amazing! Her part was amaze.

Ok. I have just seen it for the 2nd time and I am starting to properly enjoy it. So fun.

Posted by: Klaus 24th August 2017, 05:46 PM

Ohhh, I never thought of it as being a intentionally failed recreation of the Bad Blood video! I actually like that idea because it was putting me off how RANDOM all the cameos are and how none of them really go together. It's a good contrast to Taylor's ridiculous squad.

Otherwise, it really is a mess, especially her continued desire to use tired memes.

I just get Space Jam vibes from it.

So the song is climbing on iTunes again. It's up to #32, but to make this a hit it pretty much needs to be 59p tomorrow, with Hot Songs exposure if possible, too. If the song can get to #25 or higher, Capital will playlist it, and Radio 1 will A list it the week after next. It should also get another small boost from the VMAs on Sunday too.

It also needs to go back on to the Spotify playlists, Swish peaked at #33 on Spotify months before it was getting any airplay.

I like the video tbh. What were you all expecting? She literally said the video would be a mess.

Of course i'd prefer Nicki and Katy serving sexy and dancing like Side To Side but i guess Katy didn't want it. I hope it at least goes viral a bit like Bon Appétit.

So you think these two are the possibilities female pop stars have?

I can imagine several better storylines for Swish Swish video and none of them include "overeating woman" (which was appalling) or "serving sexy"

This video is so tired, not clever by any means or funny. She did the funny videos best when they were relatable (LFN is great), I don't think anyone can relate to this.

I feel like after watching all three of her videos I kinda see the point of the whole Witness era.

Katy wants us to witness the truth, because often times that's the one thing everyone can't handle, and it's very apparent in these music videos. Everything is overtly exaggerated to the point where it feels unbearable, but in the end it's society looking at themselves in the mirror.
• Chained To the Rhythm took the aspect of social bubbles and closed-mindedness and created this dystopian theme park (which is a Six Flags with different signs, so there's your appeal) out of it, but then once she takes off the glasses she opens her eyes to the sheer ridiculousness of it all. It's a problem with all kinds of social spheres, in which anyone who has a differing opinion will be mocked and outcasted by that sphere. We've seen it in social media. Someone has a dissenting opinion and everyone takes it as http://i0.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/022/940/spongebobicon.jpg.
• Bon Appetit attacked misogyny and the objectification of women as meals. So she transformed herself into one. Of course people shamed her and said she was transforming into Miley Cyrus. There was also the fact that she tied the men up and turned them into food and no one says anything about that. The GP ends up being fixated on the overt sexuality of the video that they miss the entire point of why the idea of food came to be.
• Swish Swish ends up celebrating the whimsical and bizarre nature of the Internet with people making memes for the dumbest things, and now people are saying it's too much? Like it wasn't too much when all these memes started?

People like to run around in circles and jump through hurdles to defend their mindset and all Katy wants us to do is witness the truth. Could there have been a better execution? Of course. But if the truth has to be hyperbolized for us to even take notice, then i think she's doing a wonderful job.

Y'all are probably not gonna read this and think it's too much but it's a nice read into how this era seems to be working.

I am stanning the inclusion of Jenna Ushkowitz and Molly Shannon in the video but on the whole it didn't really work for me sad.gif the entire execution was all over the place - it was plodding along for ages in parts and then when action did happen it just felt so OTT and cringeworthy. Minus Nicki who was the show stealer. The memes felt quite forced, the Gretchen lyric video worked but her dabbling with Internet memes for this song should've been left there I think. This is such a shame as the CTTR and Bon Appétit videos both really worked! On the bright side, 'Swish Swish' is a bop so if this is helping to escalate its progress then fabulous.

That felt like a pretty big step down in quality from The Voice Australia to me. The dancers weren't used anywhere near as effectively and honestly Nicki's part felt so phoned in from her that I wouldn't mind if she hadn't shown up at all. The performance needed more work on the whole I think.

Seriously delighted to see this going to be a top twenty hit.

I'm hoping Spotify continues to gain some momentum but I'm so glad how much of a positive impact the video has had on 'Swish Swish' and it really could be effective in saving this era especially with radio more likely to spin her next single more.

Posted by: HellaGood 29th August 2017, 09:07 PM

Hope for 'Roulette' or 'Witness' as the fourth single

Posted by: WallIsSoGood 29th August 2017, 09:09 PM

In all honesty, I would maybe move on from the witness era and maybe do a re-release?

Posted by: White Mustang 29th August 2017, 09:19 PM

Brand new single and low key release after Roulette to tie in with American Idol. If this continues upwards in the charts, it should guarantee she continues to get radio support here. When you think about it, Bon has been her only noticeable flop in the UK.

Posted by: cqmerqn 29th August 2017, 10:02 PM

Katy should do a Lady Gaga and release a new song to help the era ('The Cure') which did wonders for her! It got Radio back on board so hopefully Katy led the same.

Posted by: Josh! 30th August 2017, 08:37 AM

It seems that the video and VMA performance has really helped the song out on sales and streaming already. I wonder if this could actually be another top 10 hit for her if radio airplay and playlist support begins to increase too. I'm really not a fan of the song still but I'd be so pleased if it was a big hit for Katy, she could really do with one of those right now.

If it does smash though, I would still not release another single from Witness. This has already done well enough to guarantee support for the next single and I wouldn't want her to ruin that with releasing something like Save As Draft immediately after this drama.gif

Posted by: RobBob 30th August 2017, 01:04 PM

I don't see it hitting top 10 because I don't think Spotify will do much for her at this stage but even just slipping into the top 20 would be something considering how drawn out this whole process has been.

Posted by: White Mustang 30th August 2017, 02:02 PM

I still don't think it's totally out of the question for the song to be added back to Hot Hits UK. I know it's rare and almost unheard of bar a couple of occasions of the past couple of years, but this situation is quite unqiue, how many times can we think of when a song is taken off Hot Hits and starts becoming a hit months afterwards?

It would be really amazing if her team could put her back to all the big playlists like Today's Top Hits since the song is having a comeback after this video and it already is at over 100 million streams, it could become a sleeper hit.

Silver in the UK now. I imagine it'll go Gold too.

Posted by: HellaGood 15th September 2017, 05:34 PM

And Witness is #100 this week. Probably will leave the chart next week. She needs a new single (pos album release) that could help the sales especially with holidays coming up.

Ugh, three weeks in the sales top ten and still only #22 officially. Glad it got certified though, hopefully it manages to last longer in the top 40 than "Unconditionally" and "Birthday" did from Prism.

If they go for a fourth single, I'd like it to be "Power" or "Witness". I can't see either going top 40 at this point though unless she comes over for a TV performance.

Posted by: Andrew. 15th September 2017, 06:56 PM

Tsunami needs to be the fourth single with an X factor performance!

Posted by: MoistSummerFruit 15th September 2017, 06:57 PM

No, let people forget about this awful album.

Posted by: White Mustang 15th September 2017, 07:03 PM

Whatever she chooses she just needs to do some damn promo for it. Like one performance on one big TV show.

Posted by: HellaGood 15th September 2017, 08:24 PM

I'd say Roulette as single 4! Sounds like an European hit to me.

Posted by: Andrew. 15th September 2017, 11:39 PM

Tbh it's best if there's no fourth single, Swish Swish having so little effect on the album (I know it's not exactly gonna be a huge album seller but I thought it could at least get 'Witness' in the top 75) I think shows the public are just not going to invest in this era and focus on an amazing tour to remind the GP how amazing a popstar she is. <3

FFS get that top 50 on Spotify back.

Posted by: White Mustang 19th September 2017, 09:16 AM

The Spotify progress is kind of odd. It was really high for a non-Hot Hits song, (like #72) before being added, as soon as it was added it leaped like 20 places in two days but then stalled at #51 - #52 for like a week. It's quite strange it hasn't managed to go top 50 this time.

I'm glad the song kind of rallied and it's a known hit with the public now, but they really messed up its release pushing it to radio and releasing the video months after it originally had interest. If you see https://spotifycharts.com/regional/gb/daily/2017-06-13the song was #32 on Spotify, which it hasn't managed to attain the second time round, despite the airplay hugely helping on the iTunes side of things.

Posted by: Defaze 20th September 2017, 05:28 PM

I legitimately think this may be favourite Katy Perry track now. The production is sublime and Nicki's verse is incredible. Shame it can't seem to break the top 50 on Spotify, but the fact that it managed to rebound and spend a couple of weeks in the iTunes top 10 is brilliant in itself.

Posted by: HellaGood 20th September 2017, 11:20 PM

It has now been moved up on the Hot Hits playlist, currently as the 16 song on the playlist. It has started to get over 100k daily plays in the normal week days and this should be able to help the song to enter the top 50 on Spotify!

Oh I didn’t realise it had moved up! It has a chance of breaking the 50 then as that’s a 22 place climb.

Posted by: White Mustang 22nd September 2017, 08:11 AM

Finally in at 47 on Spotify, Hot Hits higher playing helped!

Posted by: HellaGood 22nd September 2017, 11:24 AM

Hope it keeps on climbing tongue.gif

Removed from the Radio 1 playlist.

38 on Spotify!

#31 (+7) on Spotify

New peak!

Posted by: THEO. 24th September 2017, 08:32 PM

Glad this is finally picking up on Spotify, top 20 officially should happen this week!

Posted by: RobBob 24th September 2017, 11:03 PM

Finally! The #22 non mover for 3 weeks has been so frustrating.

Posted by: Tyler 27th September 2017, 08:22 PM

OKAY. This has finally clicked! And I really love this now. Nicki's verse is f***ing fire. The video upsets me more now because I love it. But, again ... Nicki was fire in the video! And I'm not hating on Katy by praising Nicki, it has just made me remember how much I f***ing love her! Especially the Pink Friday's.

Like, I just can't believe Katy watched that video and thought "wow, this is great!". She has great videos in her catalogue and she could have SLAYED. It's like 'Make Me' with Britney, except Nicki Minaj didn't show up 2 min fierce as f*** to make her look lame.

Posted by: RobBob 29th September 2017, 03:48 PM

wub.gif Glad this has managed to grab top 20 finally, looks much better on her and a song as fab as this only deserves the best.

Posted by: Conderella 29th September 2017, 03:52 PM

Poor Bon Floppetit then :(

Posted by: RobBob 29th September 2017, 03:54 PM

Slightly side point: wasn't she meant to have some kind of big Spotify deal for this entire album? They've been shocking with their support for her this era, I'm sure Bon Appetite could've done better if this so called deal got her higher on the top playlists.

Posted by: HellaGood 29th September 2017, 10:19 PM

On it's 19th week on the chart it reaches the #19 peak. Lol!

The song is done chart peak wise but hopefully has lots of longevity! Update on sales anyone?

Has 'Witness' hit 50k yet?

Witness is on 47k, abysmal, it has two hits on it too. She really isn’t going to sell albums in the Uk without promo

Posted by: Poked Pumpkin🎃 7th October 2017, 11:57 AM

The album is itself abysmal so it is no surprise.

#26 this week

Posted by: THEO. 14th October 2017, 03:00 PM

I'm guessing that'll be its last week in the top 40 then. A solid run following the video premiere, I'm pleased with a top 20 peak and a total of eight weeks top 40 (including the week that it was an instant grat). I do think they should go for another single especially after 'Prism' had so many but they just need to time the video right, they held it back way too long for this after the lyric video.

Posted by: White Mustang 14th October 2017, 10:48 PM

She can easily get hits in the UK if she does it right. An XF performance at roughly the same time as the video and she’s got a hit. Things are different in America because their radio system is so complicated.

Posted by: HellaGood 14th October 2017, 11:04 PM

There are rumors about Roulette being a single.. It's doing very well in Russia atm.

Not this week, it’s still top 40 (just) on both iTunes and Spotify and probably higher on the latter due to songs above it on ACR.

EVERYTHING about this music video was just so unfunny. Even this behind the scenes makes me cringe laugh.gif

Back on ACR this week, so streams will be halved so potential could fall to the bottom of the Top 100.

It’s only on 300k so far so you have a little while to wait.

Posted by: HellaGood 10th November 2017, 04:49 PM

Looks like Swish Swish will take a longer time to be certified Gold then i thought. It's out of the Spotify top 200 and the iTunes top 100.

Posted by: RobBot 28th May 2020, 02:06 PM

So, Swish Swish is trending again because of Gaga’s Sour Candy.

So let’s remind ourselves of what an amazing song this is and put some respect on its name wub.gif

Girls Like > Swish Swish > Sour Candy

Tbf all of them are very close together in my rank and are very very different songs

Sour Candy >>> Swish Swish >>>>>>>>> Girls Like (feat. whatever vocal it is Zara is attempting)

Posted by: Jack 9th June 2020, 01:23 PM

Swish Swish and Bon Appetit are such underrated bops. Maybe they were too ahead of its time.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 9th June 2020, 04:23 PM

'Sour Candy' is definitely an inferior equivalent of this.

Posted by: Road Salt Mixer 20th December 2020, 03:12 PM

Still sounds great and took me aback with the house music production when I first heard it, didn't expect Katy Perry to release that sort of song. There weren't many dance songs in the UK chart back then if I remember too so it was good that Katy Perry provided one.
