I'm curious to know what these are all about: Validating +Subscriber Member restricted Editorial Graphics BJSC Host (this is a thing? not updated if so!) Chief Cow (lol) There's also 2 for Admin, one with a full stop/period at the end. A few of them have members but some don't have any. Are they outdated and yet to be cleaned up or what's the deal here? Cheers!

They're all deprecated or lesser used member categories that were in use in the past but not now with a couple of exceptions. Validating is the main one, new accounts that don't confirm their email are left there - and sometimes we get requests to move people out of there, they can't post. The rest, yeah we used to use them but don't anymore. Back in the 2008-2011 days there was a mod for writing an Editorial (though not sure if they ever did) and Graphics (I assume provided graphics?). In either case, the only two members I can ever recall using those categories haven't posted for years. The subscriber and member restricted I think (I'm not sure as I've never seen them used at all) are for if there was ever a paid option (there never was) and an old way of restricting someone's posts - we'd just use mod preview now. 'BJSC Host' is my long-standing workaround to give trusted members extra PM space without just assigning EVERYONE extra PM space (as that might cause board slowdown), I just assign it as a secondary category whenever necessary. Originally it was because BJSC hosts had trouble keeping messages in their inbox - if anyone ever wants more PM space, especially if it's because you're hosting something, you can PM me for that - I haven't regularly given it out for years but if I notice someone with trouble then I do. Joseph can explain Chief Cow.

Nah. Joined: 7 March 2006 Posts: 15,565 User: 27	There was a Graphics forum back in the day Iz. The people in there were really good at creating banners and signatures as well as avatars. I remember two of the moderators. One was Teresa (TeresaBloom) and the other was Russ (russt68).

I'm a paragon so don't perceive me Joined: 3 February 2011 Posts: 37,409 User: 12,929	oh and the admin. thing, there's just two categories of admins, root admins, which is the admin. and the actual admins, me, Phil and Joseph, and then the other one is a secondary role for GMs that primarily lets them in the Admin CP without making that an automatic right of GM-ship.
