After almost a decade in this contest, it is a pleasure to finally welcome you all to Tinnmark for the 103rd edition of Buzzjack Song Contest. The host city Åsnesia have been turned upside down and Kvadraten Arena have been sold out. Delegations from all over Buzzjack have started to arrive. The Tinnmarkians have been celebrating that the contest is finally coming to home soil this month and it's all thanks to EMIR placing 9th with the song 'Faller' that we finally recived the honour of hosting.

Confirmed, sticking with new age vibes in the end. Probably another risky entry especially after Cusco bombed in the semis in BJSC 100 but I hope this should get me back to the final, it's a very unique and beautiful piece of music imo. (Also my first entry from an African country, specifically Ethiopia *.*)

Taking full advantage of my first AQ and I am sending a Metal song.

A genre I never thought I'd ever send. Ever (it's literally bottom of the pile for me). But this has such strong pop sensibilities, that to me, it's more than a metal song.

But WWE PPV themes have been quite good! Little Mix - Power was used for the first ever womens royal rumble this year, Tinashe - Flame was one of the themes for Wrestlemania last year, Kat DeLuna - Whine Up was used for Summerslam 07, Kevin Rudolf - Let It Rock was used for 2008 Royal Rumble too iirc. They're quite diverse tbh!! Haha.

Gah I have come across another song by my artist that is also wonderful, this one has been described as an electro-ballad with some trip-hop influences, so more typically me. I happened to be scanning over the holiday rules yesterday & just wanted to clarify if an entrant is away for the entire of final week but technically "active" for the start of Semis, can they enter, submit a ranking for both Semis (but host only counts the set of their semi of course) then their final vote comprises of those that qualified from each? Obviously too late to enter this one but useful knowledge perhaps sometime down the line.

Yes! you'd essentially just rank ALL the songs in order of preference from 1-60 or w/e, and that can be used to determine your final votes.

I didn't know the rules were THAT strict for these songs. The only one I've ever heard of is that 80's one I know who Grimes is but I've never listened to any of her stuff.

The others have had their artists been entered a lot/done very well enough to get them a bit of a reputation around here, so the estimate is people in the contest would have heard them. Like, Grimes has a huge following around here so good luck getting anything of hers through now. It seems strict at first but when 90%+ of songs entered here have no problem passing and you start to recognise the names that do get vetoed, it'll seem less so.

Grimes is very popular on here though. Vera Blue was entered a couple of times and flopped and wasn't discussed much on here, I think I started her album thread and nobody really bothered replying. It's relative to here not the real world in places, like being entered here and doing well or having long threads shows that someone is known here, and they should probably be vetoed.
