Yay!!!! Sam Smith went platinum!!! yahoo.gif yahoo.gif I take it they are from actual sales (without TEA/SEA). It's a depressing look when only two 2014 released artist album sold over the platinum threshold this year.

Edit: Just saw totals, Taylor is now triple platinum!!!!! w00t.gif w00t.gif

Thanks a lot! Good news for Sam Smith, not a huge fan but amazing to see how well he's taken off in the US!

Ah, I was wondering if Ed was anywhere near 1m yet but it seems not - I presume there's very little chance of it selling the remaining 325k in the last couple of weeks of the year but it'll definitely pass the mark at some point especially if 'Thinking Out Loud' is as massive as it was/is in the UK.

57 christmas albums this week.

Nice seeing Taylor and Sam selling very well this year. How likely will Pentatonix reach the platinum threshold before the year is over?? They can do it.

By the end of this week.

Really impressed with J. Cole having all three of his albums reach #1, and increasing first-week sales each time (353K > 297K > 217K)! Of course having a December release probably worked in his favor this time but it's still impressive, especially with no hit single to support this one yet.
