I’m thinking this years will perhaps have more game playing than last years as this year’s contestants will have seen last year’s show so they’ll kinda know what to expect.

Good for Emma. Only thing I missed last year was like some form of exit interview for blocked members although I suppose them visiting another member kinda counted as that.

Not the biggest Emma fan at all but I'm very much here for the format change, I feel like the blockings weren't an event like they could have been and hopefully making them a bit more of an event with the Friday evictions like with Big Brother will be a good start!

I missed the first series as I couldn't keep up with that and Big Brother at the same time but I've started watching it on All 4 now. It's such a great concept that works so much better than you think! As with all things, there's things that need ironing out but I'm glad it's been given another chance now we don't have Big Brother and having Emma is like a badge of honour in that respect

I hope we get to be more involved this year.

I’d love it we got to like save players this series. Not talking every vote off but maybes one or two just to switch things up a bit.

Like say the two players bottom of the rankings go to an app vote type thing.

I loved last year’s though Dan was my favourite throughout I had a huge crush on Aiden and I went to school with Harry who joined towards the end he was a year below me.

It's confirmed that the live episode each week will see us interacting with the game and influencing it with a Circle app *.* I think that's a big change for the better, I think that'll get people really drawn in more to let us have a hand in things and see how things happen in real time as a result.

SO excited! Only recently actually watched the first series but it was really good, the best reality show I’ve seen over the past few days, and a really promising format. Even more excited with Emma on board, and I feel they’re really going to give it that extra push this year.

Hopefully, we’ll have more catfishes as people understand the game more.

It definitely got better, I needed to adjust to the format at first, but I was an addict within a matter of episodes and I don’t really do reality tv.

Agreed; the first episode was probably the worst... however by the first blocking and the possibility of that person going to see 'Kate' was fantastic. Obviously it didn't happen, but by that point i'd become hooked.

It definitely took a while for me too, I think it's always going to when it's a new format. I remember actually thinking it was kind of awful at first and couldn't see how it would work but because of that I then kind of wanted to see how it might crash and burn, but of course it didn't! It did really well at always keeping something going, from the cliffhangers to the little feuds they kept firing with tasks etc., I'm sure they'll take strides to make it even better this time *.*

Hopefully not much barring the live element given how great it was last year. If they change it too much it'll just end up like Big Brother in going too far away from its original premise and alienating viewers

I think you misunderstood my post to be honest - you don't last for 20 years completely revamping everything - BB was revamped to death in the end and ruined itself. However evolved whilst on Channel 4 enough.

It basically needs to do what the Love Island revamp did - nurture the success of the first series going forward, not make massive changes (a la BB in the C5 years)

I'm not a huge Emma fan at the best of times but she really ruined tonight I think the cast is strong and I'm excited for the rest of it, there's lots of potential! I can't wait to see Richard, hopefully as Judy, but Katie/Jay and especially Tim are already icons. Tim is a genius casting because he's the kind of person you just couldn't even make up for an alias if you wanted to

I think the other ones who are being themselves seem kinda boring, but I think it will depend how they unravel and interact with people, like Dan was pretty standard but he was an essential character because of the Kate thing. With a catfish you have an outline of the character and it's immediately interesting because you have the immediate factor of the intrigue of whether they can keep it up so they're usually initially better for me.

Just caught up and I echo the comments about wanting less Emma. I think a lot of the 'omg it's basically Big Brother' complaints are probably stemming from the fact that they've just plucked out Emma fresh from that ending. They definitely should have tried to keep it to a minimum because it worked so well last year with Alice and Maya only popping up once every now and again.

All of them seem pretty interesting so far though, particularly loving James (think he's probably got the best game plan at the moment), Woody and Brooke.

Can’t believe we’ve had a blocking already but not going to complain at the result. They way it played out did feel a bit pushed by producers, particularly as she met the main catfish but that’s reality TV in 2019!

hmm interesting that it states he contributed adverts to the Leave campaign. I thought it was strange that he was to-ing and fro-ing so much between the second referendum. It seems his true afflections are actually ‘leave’ which is interesting when he held himself out as leave, even outside the Circle chat!

It's entertaining watching him have to be someone so wildly different to him though, I really love this twist on the game.

Love Tim, Brook and Georgina. Woody is sweet too and Richard is Richard. He isn't as bad as I imagined he would be.

The catfishes... I loved Alex last year as Kate. James is great at playing the game as Sammie, but I don't find him particularly likeable or warm. Whereas Alex was great last year and you were rooting for him. I can't see Jay lasting long to be honest.

I'm guessing Tim will get his girls on side with his suspicions and then things will start to unravel.

Such a good show though! but the live show needs to go, or just cut it down to the interviews with the blocked players. Courtney and Scarlett served no purposes and we need to see more of the Players, not more of Emma.

James as Sammie isn’t going down to well tbh.

Good at playing the game but the public definitely won’t choose him as the winner.

I’m thinking when it comes to like challenges and stuff though that’s where he’s downfall will be. He can’t predict or rehearse things like that. But he’s not particularly likeable.

I wonder if the public will ever get the power to “block” anyone.

How is Tim so sure that Jay is Infact a woman though and not just a woman but the one in his photo. He was pretty sold at guessing that one.

Georgina and Woody I hope stay in this a while.

Georgina is my favourite.

She’s stunning but she’s also pretty genuine and I feel like I root for her.

My two least favourites are also the catfishes.

With Sammie/James I don’t really root for him or want him to do well. I’d love it if someone started to get suspicious of him. It’s going to be down to one of the challenges that does that though. Something he can’t have predicted before going in.

I’m still staggered and impressed at Tim seeing through Jay being his mam though.

If I was in there I’d have probably put Tim and Georgina as being the catfishes.

Woody is growing on me too. It was nice to see him and Georgina chat in tonight’s show.

Tim, Georgina and Brooke are my holy trinity. Tim is TV GOLD. I feel like Sammie will turn on Tim soon though, seeing him as competition. I hope Brooke and Georgina continue to have Tim's back.

Katie is low key tragic and is really fun to watch and I quite like Woody too. I can see Woody being a major dark horse.

So yeah, Sammie is the only one I'm not a massive fan of.

I can't see that happening though; not with Georgina and Brooke as they'll rank Tim high... and probably Sammie too as one of the girls.

I could see Woody ranking them low possibly; I think it depends on any curve balls to be honest and if Sammie slips up, or something doesn't add up.

I absolutely love Georgina, she really is the sweetest and most genuine but also funny and entertaining. Also love Tim but Georgina is definitely in front of him for me. Brooke is great and think if she got involved more would love her more. Woody is harmless and seems sweet. I really like Ella and think she will bring some humour to the show but also think she could stir the pot a bit. 'Sammie' is playing a good game but think the card could be the start of the downfall now. 'Jay' is definitely my worst atm as I think she is playing it terribly and I don't know how anyone at all could be convinced that she is a young lad 🙈

I think it's obvious Tim is playing the game, trying to get himself and his friends to the next rounds and trying to suss out the catfishes, but I don't think that makes him any less caring, nice or worthy. Tim is pretty much the perfect Circle player, he's playing a blinder really but he's not doing it in a really sneaky or nasty way as say Sammie is. As much as I love Georgina and Woody, they are both absolute sweethearts and deserve the world, they're not playing it as much and as well as Tim, who I'm constantly impressed by.

Idk you just get the feeling that James/Sammie would do ANYTHING, like Jack said I wouldn't be surprised to see him block Tim, Georgina or Woody if he got a chance. And I guess you can't be totally mad at that, when you're playing a game to win you might have to get rid of the competition, but in terms of it still being a show we have to watch, I'd be gutted to lose Tim/Georgina/Woody and still have to watch Sammie

At the end of it though, it is a game and Tim knowing he has to build connections and trying to figure out who's catfishing is really what they're meant to be doing, I don't see how that's sneaky or false at all.

I'm genuinely intrigued as to what they do all day? I get they talk to each other but surely they have to have SOME contact with another human? Otherwise this would be the hardest show ever to be on. Maybe they have like a crew member go in and speak to them.

I'm surprised not more of them miss their families and walk.

ALSO, the shots of the building are so fake, it hasn't been sunny in Manchester/Salford in about two weeks so they definitely stockpiled those during summer ha.

I always wonder do they have to like book in advance or something to use things like the Gym or the Roof or when they’re there are they given a time limit.

Also is everything totally soundproof or are they quite spaced out in the block they’re in like on different floors etc or are they all literally next door.

A Chat limit is something I’ve never thought of but that’s a good point! Do they all have to talk to each person as well or is that decided on your own prerogative.

When the first person goes to bed too does that mean everyone’s chat goes off then or is it actually open in the night. I’m legit always awake till at least 3am it would drive me mad if I couldn’t speak at that time.

I really don't think that they'd have access to Netflix or anything like that. Can you imagine any of them having Netflix and thinking 'Oooh, let me do that 1000-piece puzzle instead of watching a movie' - and basically everyone is doing puzzles. I guess they can ask for something to 'play with', like Brooke plays hair salon and Sy had the car (tractor? - can't remember).

Why would they have contact with anyone else? I can't see the need for that (all the stuff they use/need is in front of the door).

Haha, you should watch 'Alone', people are left in Alaska alone in the middle of nowhere with 10 chosen items to survive with - they build their own shelter, hunt/fish to eat and there is literally noone around (they film themselves, so there's no camera crew). Now that might be the hardest show to ever be on, this is not even close.

It's a good guess that there are a lot more challenges/tasks, perhaps some of them are only 'for fun' and the good/edgier ones are for TV.

Will be safe for the next blocking I feel but I’m not convinced that they’re heading to the final now.

What would be good is if someone asked Sammie a question about pregnancy or asked about the father of her child but that was never gonna happen I do hope he slips up majorly though.

I feel like Woody at the minute is most likely to get to the final tbh as he’s growing in popularity and peaking at the best times.

It was also very wise of Georgina not telling everyone she had the immunity!

Also Ella reminds me of one of those girls who “doesn’t like girls”. It’s obvious she likes Sammie because she thinks she’s less of a girls girl by her profile. To be honest I'm not a fan of Ella at all... but Brooke is playing this terribly.

Yeah I'm not a massive fan of Brooke anymore especially after that Woody pic (using the LGBT heart when shading someone is weird) but Ella not liking 'being nice' is just odd. I've met so many girls like that who just hate other girls for no reason.

It's kind of a battle of wits between Sammie and Tim I think. Sammie is SO manipulative, she's so good at the game and I feel like she's got too many people under her spell. Tim is very good at the game too but it just a bit more sensitive of other people's feelings so I worry Tim will get thrown under the bus by Sammie sooner or later.

Sammie is 10000% going to at least push hard to get Tim out if she's influencer at any point when Tim isn't!

I don't like Brooke or Ella tbh, the former kind of proved the fence sitting thing because she couldn't even really make a stance on Woody, rather than just shading her or sharing her suspicions, she had to also be like "but love you babe xxxx". Ella is definitely the worst though, one of those people who think that being loud is a personality and she seems to talk just for the sake of talking, she has so much to say quantitatively but there's actually nothing to it.

I guess people voting tactically hugely benefitted her whilst it made Georgina and Sammie drop.

If Sammie goes full on “savage” Sammie here though that’ll draw more suspicion to her as it’ll make people feel it’s hit a nerve and like she is hiding something. The best thing James can do is just move on from it and try and discuss it as little as possible and remain how he’s been portraying her from the start.

I wonder if the two newbies will be the most “at risk” for the next vote though?

I feel Tim could go if he isn’t an influencer but that all depends on if he is and who the influencers are but he’s the biggest threat to them all.

This programme is the gift that keeps on giving! So glad Jay is finally out and what a cliffhanger at the end with the two catfishes about to meet each other! It feels like every episode has ended with a major cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more and that is always the sign of a very entertaining programme when you constantly can't wait for the next episode.

Not looking forward though to the pointless studio chat from whichever celebrity guests they get too appear on Friday night's show but I will just fast forward those bits when I watch it on demand on Saturday.

I think Ellis is quite witty, and we’ve seen some good conversations between her and Woody/Sammy and Tim. Although you like Brooke, even her wariness of her has been interesting. I don’t think it shown her to be horrible, as everyone being overly nice on a group chat when they’re there to play a game is a bit cringe!

I really like Brooke as a person and if she was on Big Brother she’d probably be good, but I don’t think she’s playing the game well. We do only see her when she is initiating the Scholar Squad chat and even then it tends to be the same conversation as you barely see her interact with others.

It could be the edit I guess, but she doesn’t seem to add much in terms of gameplay or potential story.

I was so ready to lose Beth and Jack but at least they have a good character concept, the new couple just going in as the guy anyway would be boring as anything. I think the couple should have had to have made a funny character too.

This is such a good twist in theory but it would have been so much better if it was say two people who didn't get on/had clashed, imagine Ella and Brooke having to do it Us getting either a real couple playing one of themselves, or a showmance who probably will be more focused on each other than the game and character just feels like wasted potential.

Yeah 100%, I think last night was better as I was actually interested in seeing Richard's interview, but there was still no need at all for all the Emma links, constantly teasing a "huge twist" and telling us the ratings were coming, pointless interjections from Sy and Emelle.... It was fine last year when it was only for the final, obviously it works then, but you don't need a live show for what was really a typical episode last night, there wasn't even a blocking. When there's a twist like tonight's, they can announce it on a VT at the end. If they really must use Emma Willis for yet another TV show, she can narrate the normal episodes

Busayo's idea is probably the best catfish of the series in theory but she just doesn't seem that arsed about committing to it? She's almost playing it like a "white people" Twitter parody, I love the idea but she just isn't fully there and to me the close-up selfie she's got on Josh's profile right now just screams catfish too

As for the winner, I think it will be Ella as the player's winner, maybe Woody, and then Tim or Woody for the viewer vote. Sammie/James is growing on me a lot recently now he seems to be into it a bit more and having fun so I hope he's in the final, the Tom Hardy's boxers comment

Brooke going is something I'm really not bothered about oops, she had very little left to give I feel. I don't really know how Tim and Ella came to that conclusion though, I guess her pitch was really weak and made it seem like she wasn't fussed whether she stayed, but she had a strong connection with Tim and was getting to know Ella whereas they both had strong suspicions about Joyce...

When it comes to the final rating they’ll rank Tim a bit lower when it’s choosing the overall winner.

Georgina has a good chance of winning the public vote though. As is Woody.

Ella and Sammie won’t win on the public one but they have a chance on the player one.

Tim I don’t think will win now. He’s been a good contestant but I can’t see him winning the whole thing now.

This is the only reality show I'd consider applying for as well. Seems to be the one where most people come across well and don't get too savaged online.

I think the show would want that too... if the final 4 (or however many it is) all real people, it would make the 'meet' a bit underwhelming. The biggest revelation would be Woody's parents being Fatboy Slim/ Zoe Ball

I agree that Brooke was fading away a bit (I liked her though), but blocking her was a HUGE mistake on Tim's part. Brooke would always have his back and would rate him in the top 2-3, now it's pretty much guaranteed that he won't be an influencer again (not to mention that Georgina will give him poor scores too). Blocking Brooke was basically suicide for his game.
Woody and Ella might save him for some rounds, but at top 5-6 it would be easy for Ella to say that she has a good relationship with the girls (G+S) and Paddy too and I'm sure she can persuade Woody to agree with whatever she wants.

I just haven't warmed to Sammie.

Tim is still sliding into a burning volcano - I think his support in the circle will collapse apart from Sammie and Joyce. I could see him 4/5th in the next rating.

Ella and Georgina are my current faves.

Jack and Beth are still hilariously awful as players.

1 Georgina - back to the top because of her meeting with Brooke
2 Ella - still talks sense
3 Woody - his comments are so enjoyable
4 Paddy - less annoying than he used to be. His comments are improving. He can be very funny.

I've been loving this, finally caught up on it all tonight after a few weeks of binge watching from series 1!

I really liked Tim in the beginning but he has right gone down in my estimations, didn't like his treatment of Brooke at all thought it was really shitty tbh, finding him irritating now and a bit too cocky.

On the other hand I didn't like Sammie (James) at all in the beginning but he is now in my top 5! Really warmed to him, think he is quite funny and the bod is always a plus to see lol.

Love Woody, he is so sweet bless him, and Ella makes me laugh she is so funny (but seriously why is she always shouting!?!?)

It was good to hear from Tim on Friday that, even if a person is a catfish, you have to look beyond that and whether you still get on with them. There's quite a big emphasis from the players on finding out who is the catfish and if someone is, as though they automatically need to leave because of it!

I agree. The game is about being the most popular, not hunting catfish. If players do that as a side project, fine. But blocking just because you think someone isn’t real rather than because they aren’t bringing anything to the show is pretty rubbish.

They all known Joyce isn’t real but I bet they’re enjoying it. Josh though is not only a catfish but also boring af. I’d block him next.

I guess the point is that they've lied in a sense to be popular - so really are they only popular/ likeable because of the lies they've told and the personae they're playing.

I get the point about the person behind it, but I guess from a blocking perspective i'd be more inclined to keep the people who are being honest/ 'real' that someone who I think is a fake and making things up just to win 100k.

I think alot of keeping the catfishes in play is that it gives them the ability to knock out some stronger players. 'Joyce' has been a weak player, so really would be in the interests of the influencers to really keep her in play as really there is little chance of her winning anyway.

Oh, gross. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I actually didn't mind 'Joyce' prior to this. Questionable motives aside (I'm too pretty!! x 40000), Beth really hasn't done anything to annoy me, and Jack's 'move over bitch' to the random lady in Jan's profile gave me probably the biggest laugh all series.

Really liked Tim until the Thatcher revelation. Plus he's very obviously playing up to the 'clueless older man' narrative, which is a little tiresome. Georgina and 'Sammie' are the only likeable ones for me right now. The latter purely for how little f***s he gives now.





Honestly, Busayo's entire motive was justified by Brooke's time on the show. She barely set a foot wrong, was consistently nice to everyone and yet was still bottom two in most ratings. Ella deciding to antagonise her on the basis of... literally nothing when she hadn't spoke to her 1-on-1 says it all. I do agree that Busayo's catfish persona is boring as all hell, but equally, she's had very little screentime so far so it's hard to judge.

Brooke didn’t set a foot wrong but she was exactly outstanding either. She developed her scholar squad early and only ever really bothered with them. She was fun for us to watch but was she as entertaining for those who were competing? Clearly not. Ella called her out not because of something she had done but because she hadn’t been given any reason to like her. Once Brooke was making an effort, Ella changed her mind at least initially. I really don’t think Brooke’s skin colour came into it at all.

I have a bit of a problem with Busayo's motives, purely because it makes no sense.

She says she wanted to prove that a young, single, white male would be more popular than she would be as herself. But what's her basis for comparison. Had she already been in The Circle and blocked early, and then gone back in as Josh, I'd understand it. But as it stands, how does she know "Josh" is proving more popular than she would have? She might have been instantly liked by everyone. She'll never know, making her theory baseless.

What has become clear is that Busayo is boring. She hasn't given "Josh" one ounce of personality and is instead just playing him as a cardboard cut out stereotype. She has no imagination and hasn't come across as very likeable at all.

As for using Brooke as an example, you can't do that either, just because she's also a young, black woman. They're very different. Brooke had genuinely good moments, and that was reflected when she climbed up the rankings. But overall, she was as dull as ditch water if you look at only her replies in Circle Chat. We might have seen a reasonably sassy, fun side to her, but nobody else did. I'm not surprised she was blocked.

EDIT: T Boy, you replied first while I was typing this, but we clearly feel the same about this.

For me, the most entertaining are Ella, Woody and Sammie. All have bags of personality. I actually prefer James to "Sammie" as he's hilarious when he's talking about people for us. I genuinely hope he gets to be super influencer, just for the reaction of whoever he blocks. But I've got a funny feeling we're looking at Georgina blocking Tim.

I just hope that they get told they need to block someone and need to make the choice and then find out they have to do it in person, so they're more likely to be really honest with the choice.

The task in tonight’s show was a bit of a tricky one for me.

If someone said to me where was I when England beat New Zealand in the cricket i legit would’ve had no clue what they were on about at all!

Yet at the same time if I happened to get the Leona Lewis one I’d have known or something like the death of Michael Jackson I’d have known but sporting events I couldn’t even lie I have literally no interest in that kind of thing.

My parents were born when John Lennon died and they don’t watch the show but I asked both of them what they were doing and they just looked at me blankly and went well I don’t know but my mam can remember the whole thing of princess Dianas death.


On to Woody winning yessss! I’m a bit nervous of Georgina going as they don’t really click but I feel like he’s more likely to block someone he really feels is fake. So Joyce or Josh. Anyone else going surely would’ve went for Tim though if they played it tactically or even Ella.

If I was playing a catfish I would choose someone my own age at least to help out and wouldn't give them interests that I knew absolutely nothing about. Joyce is different as they Jack & Beth didn't choose her I guess.

With the Diana question that Tim throughout, WHY didn't Jack & Beth just say something like "I do remember the wedding, it was a sceptical. Does anyone remember the day she died it was so shocking" or SOMETHING to make it seem like they weren't dodging the question but at the same time they are.

Sammie and Paddy are just p!ssed because they’re not included

Be interesting to see where Georgina goes, I still think she likes Tim so I’m a way I hope she exposes the twosome or plays along and then flips the rankings out of Pammies favour

Also I think Panmie are forgetting Jan and Josh are how they’ll rank people

Jan I feel will escape the next blocking at least.

Because a lot of them now are playing the game tactically nobody will see her as competition.

The next blocking I feel could come down to Tim, Woody or Ella.

Woody was so sweet the way he blocked Joyce he’s so genuine but I’d have loved to have seen someone really big go.

I warmed to Jack and Beth too. I have to support Beth because she is a Geordie girl after all and anyone from my home town I have to fully appreciate (or try too).

I'm all for the Sammie + Paddy (+ Gerorgina) alliance, it's refreshing to see some people actually playing.
Tim, Woody (and Ella) are all lovely, but f*ck kumbaya, I want them to 'work' for the money.

Yes!! I don't know why this country is so against people playing hard who want to win, it's the same on Big Brother or anything like that, if people try to be a bit tactical it's "GAMEPLAYER!11! GET HER OUT!1!1 SNEAKY SNAKE SLYYYYYY!11!1" But of course it IS a game, that's the whole point! It shouldn't be frowned upon that you want to win. The catfishing aspect is also the most interesting aspect of this show, if you think of the deception, the twists and turns, the guessing and ofc the cliffhangers when you know someone is about to find out the catfish isn't who they say they are.

James/Sammie’s reaction to Woody not revealing why he deserves the money is another aspect to this. Woody may want to win secretly but he doesn’t have to state/justify that to the rest of them. His overreaction to that was over the top.

I don't have an issue with gameplay per say and I love the catfish element to the show and all the twists too... i'd probably be more on board with 'Pammie' if I found either of the people involved actually likeable or want them to succeed; but I don't

I liked Sammie briefly for a few days, but the rant about Woody and thinking his comment was a dig at him was just bizarre - James has alluded to his anger issues in the past and not wanting them to come out and you could see them rearing their head last night.

Paddy I just can't stand. Hopefully Georgina steers well clear. I'd love for her to be WTF and then report back to Tim and co in order to shaft them.

Would certainly give Georgina the push she would need to go back into contention.

I can't see the next few days being simply just rank and eliminate anyway

I'd prefer Sammie to have just aligned with Georgina. If only for the drama seeing as she's also trying to figure out who the catfish are. Or even better, get properly in with Woody etc and take them down from within. But also because I'm not overly fond of Paddy, who will no doubt go zero to 100 in 3 seconds next time he has an opportunity to be snide to someone in group chat.

Sammie has played the game really well. He came in prepared and he hasn't dropped the ball when it comes to the answers he's given. I'm also still finding him hilarious in his reaction moments.

And I do like Ella and Woody as people, I'm just bored of the giant love-in now. It's really not interesting to watch them constantly tell each other how amaaaaaaaaazing they are. I want gameplay and tactics.

And Tim can get in the bin now after Thatcher.

US, French and Brazil versions are coming to Netflix! I'll be interested to see if the US version is more tactical and gameplay orientated like their version of Big Brother, I think this format with that ruthless edge from most people would be great to see.

All those claiming to want to spend the money on starting some foundation annoy me because it just comes across as insincere. Some people in the circle might be doing it because they’re genuinely in need of the money.
