Seen it circling twitter that this is her second single due to be released soon
I think she needs to wait for 'Sorry Not Sorry' to die down, Selena released 'Fetish' way too soon after 'Bad Liar' even though it was at it's peak and I think that's the reason 'Fetish' flopped kind of.
Turns out this is the album!! Out 29th September, pre-order from midnight ET
There is something off with her eyes or eyebrows in that pic.
FYI, the title track is coming out tonight at midnight ET as an instant grat.
I thought that was Anna Paquin at first I didn't realise Demi had freckles either, she looks so different on the cover
Excited for this anyway! I've never been one of her biggest fans but Sorry Not Sorry has become one of her best singles ever for me so I hope the album is more of the same
Everything's ready for this to become one of the year's biggest surprises, let's hope the momentum continues! Glad that's just an instant great, the VERY earliest time for a new proper single should be a week before the album.
Well that is a tragic cover to go by that tragic title
Glad Instruction is on the deluxe, shame there's no No Promises though unless its just not named yet for some reason! Loving Tell Me You Love Me, it's like an Emeli Sandé song but with personality and excitement!
Really liking Tell Me You Love Me, such a pretty song.
Miley v Demi it is then!
Judging by the iTunes pre-order performance and performance of recent singles, I'd be shocked if Demi didn't just edge Miley! I just seen that Dolly is also going up against Miley ! It's going to be an interesting chart battle, wouldn't even be surprised if Dolly managed #1
Tell Me You Love Me is absolutely stunning Did not expect that, wow.
Queen of vocals delivers again!
Not really relevant to the album, but she has posted easily the best tweet I've seen all week and I am CREASED.
https://twitter.com/ddlovato/status/901672716578803712
Hehe I love Demi on socials but I don't see what's so good about that tweet in particular?
(She performed the national anthem before the fight)
Such innocence on Buzzjack
Have to echo the love for the title track, her voice is perfect for it, she can show off her soulful tones without it being "screechy" like some say SNS is (and I initally thought the same til it grew on me).
You Don't Do It For Me Anymore is apparently coming on Friday!
You Don't Do It For Me Anymore is absolutely stunning! Her vocals are stunning, love when she does songs like this because I really feel like they show off her versatility.
Standard tracklist:
01 Sorry Not Sorry
02 Tell Me You Love Me
03 Sexy Dirty Love
04 You Don't Do It For Me Anymore
05 Daddy Issues
06 Ruin The Friendship
07 Only Foever
08 Lonely (ft. a male rapper, rumoured to be French Montana)
09 Cry Baby
10 Games
11 Concentrate
12 Hitchhiker
The deluxe will have Instruction and two oher tracks, with another two tracks exclusive to the Target edition.
Please no more French Montana
"You Don't Do It For Me Anymore" is really terrible, why she thought that was a good song to showcase the album I have no idea! The title track is really nice but we need more bangers please Demetria!!!
Yeah I'm not a massive fan of YDDIFMA, it just does the same thing as the title track but in a much worse way imo. I hope this whole album isn't that sort of sound otherwise it's gonna peak at track and then all sound the same but worse.
She posted a really awkward Instagram story video announcing a UK launch party for the album on the 26th, hopefully she'll perform on TV somewhere that week too.
Lil Wayne is the featured rapper on "Lonely" and tracks 14 and 15 on the deluxe edition are acoustic versions of "Sorry Not Sorry" and "No Promises" respectively and the Target-exclusive songs are "Smoke & Mirrors" and "Ready For Ya".
I wish she'd included "Body Say" from last year, I quite like it and it's much better than "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore".
Sexy Dirty Love is THAT pure pop bop (out as instant grat)
Sexy dirty Love SLAYS *.*
I'm really like TMYLM but I'm not sure on YDDIFMA atm!
I'm really not sold by what I've heard of this album.
SDL is good enough but it feels kind of Poundland Nick Jonas :lol:It reminds me of a Levels and Teacher a bit.
'Sexy Dirty Love' is good, nice to have a more fun and carefree pop track from this era. I have listened to the other two with wordy titles, but I've kind of forgotten about them. I'll give them another go sometime.
I think "Sexy Dirty Love" is my least favourite track yet. It sounds a bit cheaply produced and cheesy but isn't anywhere near as catchy as "Sorry Not Sorry" in order to make it work. I feel like it might grow on me though and I'm very excited for this album based on the other three tracks so far
(SNS > TMYLM > YDDIFMA > SDL)
OCC have revealed Demi's top ten best sellers - just ugh at the #1:
1. "Up" (with Olly Murs) 837,000
2. "No Promises" (with Cheat Codes) 38m streams
3. "Heart Attack" 407,000
4. "Cool for the Summer" 354,000
5. "Skyscraper" 318,000
6. "Let it Go"
7. "Instruction" (with Jax Jones and Stefflon Don)
8. "Sorry Not Sorry"
9. "Confident"
10. "Really Don't Care" (with Cher Lloyd)
Weird to see three songs that didn't go top 40 in her top 10 but she doesn't have that many UK hits and "Confident" deserved so much more. I guess if "No Promises" is #2 already, "Sorry Not Sorry" will be able to overtake that by the end of the year.
Thought SS would’ve been #1 TBH
She’s on Jonathan Ross on Saturday *.*
This so easily her best album - Daddy Issues is unreal!
Her voice is honestly a bit too much on this album for me (and I'm just a little over half way through). :/ I think I'd enjoy it more in smaller doses!
Daddy Issues was a standout on first listen so far though!
My favourites are Sexy Dirty Love and Ruin The Friendship but overall a great album up there with her best.
Cry Baby is uttterly stunning my fave so far definitely!
Predicted to sell 78K in the US and debut at #2.
Neon Lights isn't in her top 10?! Travesty.
Screaming at Poot getting aired on primetime British TV
Great performance and interview on Jonathan Ross, I've not thought much of her personality-wise previously but I loved how she came across (and of course the Poot meme being featured was hilarious).
I wasn't huge on the album on first listen, after about track 6 everything seemed to blend in to one, I was glad "Instruction" was there to wake me up 😏 I'll give it another try though and of course I'm willing her to be successful and would love for it to be her highest peaking in the UK. YAS at beating Miley so far in the US x
I always love Demi interviews as she always comes across really well, I remember her on Alan Carr a couple of years ago was amazing! Lots of Americans sometime struggle to click into British humour with these chat shows but Demi (nearly) always gets right into things.
On the album, I agree that track six onwards does blend into one but on repeated listens they are starting to differentiate. That said she's definitely carved out a very cohesive album that has its own sound and a lot of criticism towards Demi in the past is that she doesn't really have her own musical identity up until now - just releasing top notch (in my opinion) but generic dance-pop. However, for the first time since her pop-rock days I do think she's found her own lane.
I'm not sure what follow-up singles would work. Tell Me You Love Me probably would as it did really well as a grat. Something like Lonely would do very well in the US I imagine, not so well worldwide. I think Daddy Issues is one of the strongest but I'm not sure it would work as a single.
I think she'll only get three singles out of this album, SNS, the title track and probably Lonely or Ruin The Friendship. You Don't Do It For Me Anymore could get a single outing if she wants to push for vocal awards.
I really enjoyed her on Jonathon Ross!
Love the start/end of the album! <3 The middle is so-so for me so hopefully some growers on the album.
10 Sorry Not Sorry
11 Tell Me You Love Me this has clicked with me so much over the past few days <3
10 Sexy Dirty Love
09 You Don't Do It For Me Anymore also just clicked with me!
05 Daddy Issues
06 Ruin The Friendship
06.5 Only Forever
05.5 Lonely (ft. a male rapper, rumoured to be French Montana)
10 Cry Baby
08 Games
09 Concentrate
07.5 Hitchhiker
10 Instruction
10 Sorry Not Sorry (Acoustic) this works so well *.*
I thought No Promises (Acoustic) was also on the deluxe but it doesn't seem to be on spotify?
This is actually pretty fab! Lonely is the only massive dud for me
Fabulous album. Her vocals actually don't grate on me, I find her quite controlled
"Sorry Not Sorry" has finally reached the top ten on the Hot 100, her first since "Heart Attack"!
I loove Sorry Not Sorry acoustic!!
Also she was on Nick Grimshaw's show on Radio 1 this morning:
Omg at the second song/video *_* Is that available on YouTube?!
Loving this album, her best yet for me.
Standouts are Tell Me You Love Me, Only Forever, Daddy Issues and Crybaby
#5 in the UK, her first top 5 album!
#3 in the US with 75K sold!
Sorry not sorry has outpeaked this is me on the Hot 100! Demi finally has a new peak on hot 100 *.*
omg YAS @ both
Loving this album... Daddy Issues is great but I love the whole album
'You Don't Do It For Me Anymore' has really clicked with me now, so stunning, I absolutely adore her voice. It's the 'Nightingale' / 'Stone Cold' of the album for me.
Really hoping she finally does a tour here in the UK, she is someone I have always wanted to see live.
This album has really grown on me, I keep coming back to it which is something I rarely do when an album is actually released!
"Tell Me You Love Me" is such a strong song, it has to be her next single over the winter. I'm not overly familiar with her previous albums but I'd say it's her strongest ballad since "Skyscraper". I actually don't hate "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore" anymore but if they push this as a single over "Tell Me..." I'll be pissed
"Sexy Dirty Love" is a huge bop and another obvious single choice, hopefully it'll be third - Camila Cabello posted a cute Instagram story of her lipsyncing to it after Demi posted one of herself lipsyncing to "OMG" Crazy to think that Demi was actually a mentor on the season of 'The X Factor' that Fifth Harmony were formed on!
‘Concentrate’ is such a bop.
a VERY emotional watch
Oh my god, after all that, I NEED Sexy Dirty Love to be a single! Probably not right now bc TMYLM feels more right for this time of year but like HOLY CRAP. Will probably be my favorite post-album Demi single since Neon Lights.
Actually this might be my fave Demi album since DEMI.
Major announcement coming tomorrow!
I'm hoping it's a tour (with UK dates as well) or announcement of the next single. I think it'll be 'Tell Me You Love Me', 'Daddy Issues' or 'Sexy Dirty Love' if it is the next single.
Joint US tour with DJ Khaled announced LOL.
So f***ing random
I hope if she comes to the UK, it's her by herself! I'm seeing her as part of Free Radio live in Birmingham, I'm so excited but I want a full tour!
I gave this album a full listen. The first 7 or 8 tracks are excellent, I was impressed with the diversity in sound and the ways she uses her voice.
'Cry Baby' is intolerable and sadly the album never really recovers after that.
I have to disagree! Cry Baby is really soulful and one of my favourite vocal deliveries from her on the record. It reminds me of a song or two from Christina Aguilera's Stripped, with the dramatic vocals/instrumental (and I'd regard that as being a big compliment, Stripped is great album). I'd go as far as to say it's an album highlight. Games is a lowkey bop (which is needed after a few heavy tracks in a row following Daddy Issues, it's light relief), I'd say Concentrate is one of the album's strongest downtempo moments, and Hitchhiker proved itself to be a grower; I enjoy her more delicate vocals.
Beyond the singles, Sexy Dirty Love, Daddy Issues, Ruin the Friendship and Only Forever are other big faves. The latter track's vibe reminds me of some of Ariana's Dangerous Woman album.
The only song I'd describe as a low point of the album is Lonely. It's a really strong album overall, definitely one of my favourites of the year.
Yeah ‘concentrate’ is the best song on the album... not as a single but as a track; its perfect.
I’m so invested in this album I could pick about 6 singles
UK Tour announced for June, tickets on sale this Friday!
Also shame it's looking likely nothing else will be a hit from the album, she can never get past the first single in the UK 😭
'Tell Me You Love Me' (the single) has been added to Hot Hits and is C List on Radio 1
Really hoping it can now be a hit and break her curse of flop 2nd singles. Also, I managed to get tickets to see her live, so excited!
