Biography
Jonas Blue
A London-based DJ and producer who’s delivered a steady stream of hit tracks and remixes since the mid-2010s, Jonas Blue knows how to give a dance floor all the joy and energy it needs. Yet he leaves room for some wistful feelings out there in the dark, too. The best proof of that is his thrilling yet poignant revamp of Tracy Chapman’s folk-pop classic “Fast Car”, a collaboration with singer Dakota that became a worldwide hit in 2015. The club and radio favourite also propelled Blue—born Jonas James Robin in Chelmsford in 1989—into the top tier of the dance-music world. On hits like 2017’s “Mama” (with William Singe) and his 2018 debut album Blue, the busy producer developed a signature style of pop, tropical house and EDM that was reliably light and summery yet also contained the emotional undercurrents that made his update of “Fast Car” so surprising and special. They’re certainly present in “Younger”, a 2019 single full of nostalgic feelings for times long past. As Blue told Apple Music, exploring some of those deeper sentiments while giving them a positive spin is “what my music’s all about.” - Apple Music
LÉON
Swedish singer LÉON made a splash in 2015 with a softly glowing contemporary pop sound that evoked classic sounds of the 1960s and '80s without being entrenched in the past. A trio of EPs paved the way for her eponymous 2019 debut and its breakout hit, "You and I." LÉON returned with her sophomore LP, Apart, the following year.
The Stockholm native -- a daughter of musicians -- fronted a band as a teenager and watched her career accelerate as a solo artist after she began to work with producer Agrin Rahmani. In 2015, at the age of 21, she made her proper debut with "Tired of Talking," a single with a sweet melodic hook that belied the lyrics' assertive character. The more uptempo "Nobody Cares," a song in which LÉON sang of having trouble letting go of a relationship, followed shortly after that and led the way to an EP, Treasure, which contained both of the singles and two new songs. Her For You EP arrived in early 2017. Months later, she issued another EP, Surround Me, followed by the sultry single "Baby Don't Talk" in 2018. In the buildup toward her debut album, LÉON scored another hit with its rousing lead single, "You and I." The album, simply titled LÉON, appeared in March 2019, followed by tours of Europe and North America. A year and half later, her sophomore long-player, Apart, continued to build on her mellow, melodic pop sound. - Spotify

Mirror
1st single from forthcoming studio album
Released: 26th May 2021
Label: Island Records
Video
Biography
A leading voice of Scandipop’s next wave, Sigrid combines forthright lyrics with irresistible hooks. Born in Ålesund, Norway, in 1996, Sigrid Solbakk Raabe began her music career on a dare: Her older brother, a singer/songwriter, challenged her to write and perform a song at one of his shows. The then-16-year-old Sigrid accepted, and the next year she released her first single, “Sun,” and began performing at local festivals like Øyafestivalen. Her major-label debut single, the swirling “Don’t Kill My Vibe,” became an international sensation almost immediately upon its 2017 release; she was named an artist in Apple Music’s Up Next program after its success, and she released her debut EP of the same name a few months later. Her cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Everybody Knows,” which appeared on the Justice League soundtrack, cemented her as part of the late-2010s mope-pop zeitgeist, and her 2019 full-length album, Sucker Punch, showed how she’d honed her ability to balance festival-ready choruses with introspective yet self-affirming lyrics. Two singles from that album, “Strangers” and “Don’t Feel Like Crying,” became significant hits in the UK. Sigrid established herself as one of pop's brightest stars quickly, a font of maturity and promising songwriting savvy. - Apple Music

When you want to hear ‘I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE’ on the radio but have meetings booked for 4 and 4:45
…but then the 4pm one got swapped to 3pm earlier instead
Let’s hope it doesn’t get played during that 15 minute window until I’m done at 5
Rooting for Little Mix x2 in the top 10 and ‘Save Your Tears’ smashing too
If the Little Mix songs end up peaking at #7 and #8, they'll have had at least one song peak at every position in the Top 10 - unlikely to happen today, but over the coming weeks possibly...

Awww 15 years since Sandi Thom was number one - I played it the other day 😍
I bet good 4 u will still be no. 1 today.
I remember that Sandi Thom track toppling Crazy at the time as being as HUGE shock (as I didn't know the back story behind the latter being deleted, bizarre tale that whole thing was wasn't it?)
Also crazy that Angel got 3 weeks at #1 whereas It Wasn't Me is the far more remembered Shaggy song but only had one week.
Small typo on the Keane song there too btw.

Biography
“Back Again” might seem like a strange title for a debut single, but not for Joel Corry: When the British DJ/producer dropped his first record in 2015, he was already well known to UK audiences from his appearances on the MTV reality show Geordie Shore. While that program captured its cast members’ romantic misadventures with tongue firmly in cheek, Corry has treated his musical career with far more seriousness, faithfully updating the sounds of classic house with a sleek contemporary touch. Born in London in 1989, Corry was just a boy when the slinky sounds of UK garage catapulted underground dance music into British pop around the turn of the millennium, but he brings the same crossover spirit to his own productions. While 2015’s “Back Again” and “Light It Up” flirted with big-room EDM, Corry looked to the past for his breakout hit, a 2019 cover of Monsta Boy’s 2000 UK garage classic “Sorry” that paired soulful vocals with crisp, jittery drum programming. He’s pursued a similar approach on subsequent singles like “Lonely” and “Head & Heart”, updating the piano chords and organ stabs of ’90s dance pop with 21st-century production values. While Corry’s timeless hooks are perfect for radio, he’s careful to always have something special for the dance floor. As he told Apple Music: “With all my records I like to do my own VIP mix”—that is, a club-ready version that’s a little tougher and heavier. With reality TV in the rearview, these days Corry’s simply keeping it real. - Apple Music

I can’t cope with the stress of finding out if LM have made it with Confetti
Amazing that this song never a) leaves the chart for long and b) gets old still love it
Omg yes I didn’t expect this to re-enter and up 14 places! Will never get old such a bop
Head & Heart is such a bop, I welcome it's return
I wonder if Rasputin will make the top 10 today?
We can thank the good weather for this
I really hope Marea has made it in though!
What's caused Head & Heart to go back in the Top 40? Still love this record.

Biography
When singer-songwriter Billie Eilish feels something new, the first thing she does is take out her phone and write it down. “You can write anything,” she told Apple Music in an interview for the Up Next series. “You can say the truth, and you can not tell anyone that it’s the truth—you can just write it, and it’ll be yours.” Raised and homeschooled in Los Angeles by actor/musician parents, Eilish (born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell in 2001) started writing songs when she was around 11, exploring a strain of melancholy, minimal and slightly surrealistic pop influenced as much by Lana Del Rey as the radical honesty of rappers like Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. Writing and recording with her brother—and producer—Finneas O’Connell at their parents’ house, Eilish released dont smile at me in 2017, followed by an ever-evolving series of singles—a prime example of the fact that, in the streaming era, artists are now free to move directly from their bedrooms into the spotlight. Despite the attention, Eilish is doing her best to stake out a space of freedom and fluidity, expanding her range of collaborators (Vince Staples, Khalid) and dodging easy definition. “If people think I have a sound, if people are like, ‘Oh yeah, her sound is this,’ if someone asks you what my sound is and you have an answer for them—you’re wrong,” she told Beats 1’s Zane Lowe. “Instead of trying to find a sound, when I want to make something and when I have an idea of what I want to make, I’m just going to make that.” - Apple Music

He is best known for his 1999 single "9 PM (Till I Come)" which was a No. 1 single in the United Kingdom. - Wikipedia
Topic
German songwriter, producer, and DJ Topic refers to his sound as "melancholic dance music." His songs typically combine striding house beats and light guitar melodies with yearning lyrics about heartache as well as dancefloor escapism. He made his full-length debut with 2015's Miles, and later scored a worldwide hit with 2019's "Breaking Me," featuring A7S. Tobias Topic was born in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, in 1992. He began producing music using a digital audio workstation when he was 16. Using social media to launch his career, he released his first single, "Light It Up" (with vocalist Jona Selle), in 2014. His debut album, Miles, appeared in 2015, containing several additional singles, including "Home" (featuring Nico Santos), which was certified platinum in Germany and Australia. He continued releasing additional charting singles such as 2016's "Find You" (with Jake Reese), 2017's "Break My Habits," and 2018's "Perfect" (with former Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooke), which became his first song to reach the Billboard Dance/Electronic chart. Topic's first major worldwide hit, "Breaking Me," featuring Swedish singer A7S (Alexander Tidebrink), was released during the final weeks of 2019, and hit the Top Ten in two dozen countries by the end of 2020. Topic reunited with Santos on the 2020 single "Like I Love You," and collaborated with A7S and rapper Lil Baby on "Why Do You Lie to Me." - Apple Music
A7S
A7S is the enigmatic alter ego of Swedish songwriting sensation, Alexander Tidebrink. Having amassed over 1 Billion worldwide streams under his real moniker and for others, A7S is an altogether different project – darker, groove-heavier, but still infinitely melodic. Tipping his hat to fellow sonic travellers Diplo, Jon Bellion and The Weeknd, A7S blends seductive beats and a twilight vibe with perennial hooks. His laser-focus on melody is front and centre and the imaginative production never eclipses or overrides the song. Although A7S has just begun releasing material, he’s already a chart phenomenon – storming out of the gate with his first single “Breaking Me”, which is one of the top 10 most streamed tracks global (top 100 best streaming artist), top 3 in Germany, UK and Netherlands and No.1 on the Shazam and European airplay charts. For an artist in his mid-twenties, his style is confident, and more importantly, fluid. After all, genre is irrelevant when everyone you know is singing your chorus. Watch and wait as his audience grows exponentially with each release. - Spotify

Could definitely have done without this one being back
I forgot this was out of the top 40 last week.
Ah looking forward to a dance-heavy chart then with 2 big ACR climbs already.
Was it the summer dance playlist being primarily responsible for these rebounding?
I adore Your Love, such an amazing track
I'm glad the Billie track was skipped.
Meh thought we'd lost some of these tired dance records for good. Although it's been a very quiet week for new releases.
Anyway it's all about praying for Marea this week
So people listen mostly to the old dance tracks when it's warm and sunny?

Biography
Nathan Dawe
Nathan Dawe is fast-becoming one of the UK’s most talked-about new dance acts. Buoyed by a huge fan base in Birmingham and the Midlands, Nathan’s regional pull has seen him sell-out 3000-capacity headline shows in the city’s 02 Academy, as well as curate the first ever, one-day 0121 Fest in the summer of 2019. That pull is now starting to transmit nationwide, with Nathan’s single ‘Flowers’ ft. Birmingham rapper Jaykae – a fresh twist on the UK Garage classic — spending 11 weeks inside the UK Top 20, peaking at #12 earlier this summer. Nathan’s new single ‘Lighter’ ft. KSI went straight to #1 on iTunes on launch and the official video, which also features Window Kid, S-X and Lotto Boyz’s Ash, racked up over 3.5 million views in its first 48 hours – it’s already shaping up to be one of the records of 2020. Both singles follow Nathan’s first Atlantic Records singles ‘Cheatin’ and ‘Repeat After Me’ ft. Melissa Steel, both of which spotlighted his ability to write crisp, infectious dance music. - Spotify
Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie’s bold, booming voice has resonated around the world, both as a consummate dance-music collaborator and a brassy pop powerhouse. Born Anne-Marie Nicholson in Essex in 1991, the singer/songwriter never thought she’d make it far beyond her small village, but she was already making waves in London as a child, performing in prestigious West End theatre productions and becoming a karate world champion. Such ambitions undoubtedly helped prepare her for major festival stages—which she’d soon dominate as a rising vocalist in the electronic music world. After being discovered by Elton John’s management company, Rocket Music, in 2013, Anne-Marie lent her skyscraping vocals to tracks by dubstep/DJ supergroup Magnetic Man, garage duo Gorgon City and drum ‘n’ bass hitmakers Rudimental, who invited her to guest on their 2015 album We the Generation and join their extensive world tour. Going forward, she’s been a go-to vocalist and songwriter, pairing up with artists like Snakehips, James Arthur, Nick Jonas, David Guetta and Lauv. But her biggest breakthrough came in 2016 with Clean Bandit, whose single “Rockabye” with dancehall superstar Sean Paul became a multi-platinum global smash, largely thanks to Anne-Marie’s honeyed croons and playful lyrics, which offer an empowering twist on single motherhood. Since releasing her 2018 debut album, Speak Your Mind, the singer has been building up an enviable catalogue of self-love odes (“Perfect to Me”), sassy club bangers (Marshmello collab “FRIENDS”), nostalgic pop love songs (“2002”, co-written with Ed Sheeran) and throbbing coming-of-age anthems (the Doja Cat-featuring “To Be Young”). Even as a solo star, she continues to have no qualms about sharing the spotlight. “I just think collaborations are beautiful,” she told Apple Music. “I don’t think collaborations will ever stop with me.” - Apple Music
MoStack
North London rapper Mostack shifted from making music about the streets he was raised on to focusing on deeper personal issues and broader social themes. Mostack first appeared on the scene in 2014, when he released the single "No Buddy" through Link Up TV's YouTube channel. The single quickly caught the attention of U.K. rap fans, leading to a tour in support of Stormzy in late 2015. The following year Mostack dropped his debut mixtape, Gangster with Banter, reaffirming his playful yet serious approach. He spent the rest of 2016 and early 2017 touring and building his fan base. In the summer of 2017, he dropped his second mixtape, High Street Kid, which featured guest spots from J Hus, MIST, Jigzz..., and Krept. - Spotify

Biography
Fred again..
London-based producer Fred Gibson, aka Fred Again, is responsible for numerous chart-topping pop and rap songs, working alongside the likes of Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, and Stefflon Don. He also produces for himself, blending house/electronica with samples he has pulled from social media. His journey began after he joined an a cappella group at Brian Eno's studio in London; there, he managed to impress Eno with his Logic skills, leading to Gibson gaining the revered musician as a mentor. By 2014 he was working alongside Eno, collaborating on his trilogy of albums alongside Underworld's Karl Hyde. After an impressive start, Gibson went on to co-produce Roots Manuva's 2015 album Bleeds. He followed that with a number of high-profile singles, including a couple of tracks on Ellie Goulding's 2015 album Delirium, Stefflon Don and Charli XCX's 2016 single "After the Afterparty," and Little Mix's 2017 single "Is Your Love Enough?" In 2018, he became in increasingly high demand, working with numerous musicians in a variety of genres, including Shawn Mendes, Ray BLK, George Ezra, Clean Bandit, Rita Ora, and Jess Glynne.
Gibson's debut solo single, "Kyle (I Found You)," arrived in 2019, using samples he had sourced from social media, in this case a clip of a friend singing. In the same year, he worked closely alongside Ed Sheeran on No. 6 Collaborations; he co-produced all but two tracks on the album. Gibson had been nominated multiple times at awards ceremonies, but in 2020 he landed his first win for Producer of the Year at the Brit Awards. Later the same year, he released the GANG mixtape alongside Headie One, which featured an eclectic array of guests including Jamie XX, FKA twigs, Octavian, and Sampha. More stand-alone songs arrived in fall 2020, including "Jessie (I Miss You)" and "Julia (Deep Diving)," the latter of which found Gibson crafting a song around a social media post by singer Julia Michaels. - Apple Music
The Blessed Madonna
The Blessed Madonna, formerly known as The Black Madonna, is one of the most celebrated DJs of her time, thanks to her eclectic, joyous sets, which can encompass anything from classic electro and new wave to the latest techno and house white labels. Her production work, including the widely praised 2016 single "He Is the Voice I Hear," walks the line between disco and techno, with the emotional weight of the former and the driving momentum of the latter. One of dance music's foremost activists, she is renowned for her commitment to humanitarian work and her outspoken views on LGBTQ rights and gender inclusivity.
A string of further releases culminated in her 2016 single "He Is the Voice I Hear," which acted as the first record for her own label, We Still Believe. Mixmag named her DJ of the year (the first time they granted a woman the award), and she appeared on the magazine's cover wearing a gold crown. In 2017, Stamper began a residency at London club XOYO, selling out the venue for 13 straight weeks. She then relocated to the city and became a popular DJ on BBC Radio One. She appeared as herself in the video game Grand Theft Auto Online, where she was given a radio station called We Believe. While she hasn't released any original material since "He Is the Voice I Hear," she has delivered high-profile remixes for Robyn, Silk City & Dua Lipa, Georgia, and others. - Spotify

Hi all
Really hope the blessed Madonna track finally makes it and fat joe too!
Wow they really put us through Your Love and skipped the new peak for Way Too Long
Lol at them completely snubbing Nathan Dawe's re-entry.
Great to hear Marea on the chart though at last! Such a unique hit.
ELATED to see 'Marea' top 40
In my head I was always convinced it would end up with an eventual #41 peak.
Glad way too long has got a new peak! Disappointed it got skipped though.
yes Marea!! great track
We've Lost Dancing
So pleased this eventually made it in. Breaks my heart and mends it again
I heard this on the Capital charts on Sunday and it's a weird track.
If this Fred Again song hast charted then the superior and similarly themed 2019 by Martin Jensen and Georgia Ku deserves to chart.
This song is kinda boring
This Marea track gives me major Faithless "God is a DJ' vibes - a rare dance track that brings tears to the eyes. Not so keen on this mix they're playing but great to hear!

Biography
Nobody makes feeling bad sound as good as The Weeknd. Even the singer’s sunniest tracks (“Can’t Feel My Face,” “Starboy”) feel anchored by darkness—the sense that pleasure is pain and beauty decays and you can’t have the night without the morning after. The brainchild of Toronto singer Abel Tesfaye, the project took off in 2011 with a string of mixtapes (later collected as 2012’s Trilogy) that forged cavernous, falsetto-driven R&B with narratives drenched in drugs, sex, and other regrettable decisions—a sound both sensuous and detached, featherlight and dead heavy. One of the earliest musicians to find his footing on the internet, Tesfaye originally offered his music through YouTube and free downloads, a move that felt radical then but is common now. Ethiopian by heritage (his parents immigrated to Canada in the late ’80s, just before he was born), Tesfaye—out from behind the mask of making art online—has since come to represent the changing face of Toronto, rooting himself not just in an international musical community but in a specific diasporic experience. Like the work of collaborator Lana Del Rey or early booster (and fellow Toronto native) Drake, Tesfaye’s music has become a symbol of hedonism pushed to bleak excess, with a series of albums—including 2015’s Grammy-winning Beauty Behind the Madness, 2016’s multiplatinum Starboy, and 2020’s dense and atmospheric After Hours—whose narrators can’t seem to say no even if they hate themselves for it later. And though his music has gotten a little brighter over time, the prevailing mood remains heavy, even unsettling—the ride you want more of even when you’ve had too much. Speaking to Apple Music about the persona behind his songs, Tesfaye said, “I’m a chill person. That guy is who I am, but it is who I am to myself and in my writing. Sometimes you take him and then you create more, and then it becomes this beast. You add more to him, and then it’s uncontrollable—its own character. It’s like Scarface, the villain: It’s horrible, but you can’t stop looking at it.” - Apple Music

Biography
As Years & Years, Olly Alexander has become one of the world’s most trailblazing modern pop stars. Across two hugely successful albums to date, the singer, actor, and cultural vanguard has earned 5 Brit Award nominations, sold-out numerous global tours, and played triumphant homecoming shows at London’s O2 and Wembley Arena. Along the way, Olly has also become a fearless, once-in-a-generation voice on important discussions around mental health, and issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community. This has been marked by a number of standout moments, ranging from Alexander's defiant speeches at Glastonbury in 2016 in the wake of events in Orlando to his BBC Documentary ‘Olly Alexander: Growing Up Gay’, plus the dizzyingly creative world around 'Palo Santo' (a record that arrived with an ambitious short film starring Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw). In 2021 Olly led the cast of critically acclaimed and huge hit drama ‘It’s A Sin’ (Channel 4/HBO Max). The show broke records on All 4 since its premiere, with over 18 million views to date (the platform’s biggest ever instant box-set) and received an incredible reception from fans and critics alike. Following the show’s broadcast, the Terrence Higgins Trust reported a four-fold increase in HIV Testing Week stats from previous years. Years & Years push boundaries by challenging notions of identity and sexuality in a way that is new to pop music - and totally Olly Alexander’s own. - Spotify

Biography
Born Tijs Michiel Verwest in the small Dutch city of Breda in 1969, Tiësto went on to become more than just a world-famous electronic musician—he largely created the model for a powerhouse DJ in the 21st century. He got his start in the mid-’80s, when the skeletal sounds of Belgian new beat ruled Holland’s clubs, but it was trance—sleeker and more emotive—that moved him. His first proper DJ mix , 1997’s Magik One (First Flight), showcases his signature style in dreamy synth melodies drawn out above tough but streamlined drum grooves. As trance’s foremost ambassador, he pioneered stadium raving with solo DJ concerts in sports arenas; in 2004, he played for millions at the Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Athens. And his Club Life weekly radio show and mix series, one of trance’s premier global platforms, became synonymous with the genre itself. But you don’t become the world’s No. 1 DJ by sitting still. By 2011’s Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas, Tiësto was following through on a shift that had begun with his 2009 album, Kaleidoscope, a blend of high-energy trance and airy pop melodies that heralded the next big rave revolution: EDM. With 2014’s A Town Called Paradise, he made good on EDM’s anything-goes promise with a collection encompassing soaring toplines, massive drops, and other big-room thrills without turning his back on the aching melodies that made his name. As the decade drew to a close, playful collabs with a new generation of producers who had come up in his wake—The Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, DJ Snake, Hardwell—only served to confirm his versatility and cement his legacy. - Apple Music

So great to see The Business climb
I thought we were gonna lose it after its low position last week.
Blinding Lights at a record 33rd different Top 40 position!
Lol I thought the business was gone after last week but I guess the good weather really does have an impact
Think this has only been skipped about once in its whole top 40 run
Still really like The Business. Not something I'd play but wouldn't skip it either. Hope his next hit is of similar or even better quality!

Biography
Ella Henderson
Bursting on to the scene in 2014, at just 18-years-old Ella Henderson went on to achieve global success with her debut single, ‘Ghost.’ Co-written with Ryan Tedder, the song became the fastest-selling debut single from any British Artist in 2014. That same year, Ella’s debut album, ‘Chapter One,’ (Salaam Remi, Babyface, Steve Mac, TMS) spawned her first Platinum selling album, making her one of only 3 UK artists to break Platinum in 2014. A revered artist, in 2015 Ella received two prestigious BRIT Award nominations for 'Best British Female' and 'Best British Single', rounding off the year with a landmark sell-out UK headline tour, which included two shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Following a whirlwind few years, Ella returned to the studio to being work on her next project. During the process she continued to collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, appearing on hits produced by superstar DJ’s Kygo and Sigma. She also returned to the live stage, touring with the likes of Take That, James Arthur and Rudimental, the latter of whom signed her to a new record deal with their label Major Toms/Asylum. For Ella, this marked a brand new start. “I want it to be fresh,” says the 23-year-old. “The industry's changed so drastically since I last released music over four years ago. I want to embrace that. I want to treat everything like it's a clean slate.” - Spotify

Biography
Bradford’s BBCC are MCs Kane, GK, Clive managed by Darren Booth aka “Dr Google”. Deeply influenced by the ‘bassline house’ clubbing heritage they grew up around in the North of England as well as emergent UK and US rap. The boys’ have created something of their own new sound, lacing pacey 4x4 bass-quakes with a frantic lyrical fire that veers from infectious ear-worm hooks to wry observational punchlines. Think The Streets meet T2’s ‘Heartbroken’. Embracing the term ‘charva’ as a way-of-life, together they channel the nuances and absurdities of northern street life into hugely addictive tunes. The new single 'Don't You Worry About Me' is out now, and the debut mixtape ‘Full Wack No Breaks’ was released summer 2020. - Spotify

Kiss FM's fave song at the moment.
Noizu top 30 too!
I’ve had this BBCC song on repeat all week it’s such a bop! I’m one of the few people on here that actually likes it 😂
I'd LOOVE to join you guys today but I need to commence my investigation, which will involve a few lovely emails to the OCC
They skipped Ella and Tom for this shit
The chorus is ok but the "rapping" is awful, serving drunk bloke in a pub.

Biography
Infinitely fascinating and unpredictable, Bella Poarch is a true force of nature. Not only the world’s third-biggest TikTok star (with over 65 million followers and counting), the Filipino-American is a U.S. Navy veteran, gaming icon, anime obsessive, lifelong singer, and burgeoning songwriter who’s created countless home recordings based on her emotionally raw lyrics and self-taught ukulele skills. Originally hailing from a tiny farm in the Philippines, Bella first discovered her vocal gifts as a little girl and started performing despite her parents’ disapproval. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17, where she proudly served working on helicopters and jets across the States and Japan, and ultimately landed in Hawaii after her contract ended. She now holds the record for most likes on a TikTok video – an August 2020 post that’s surpassed 50 million likes – and by September 2020 she’d moved to L.A. and begun meeting with multi-platinum music producers, soon inking her deal with Warner Records. Now, with her debut single “Build a Bitch” and more music to come, Bella Poarch delivers her own dynamic and diverse brand of dark pop sure to turn heads. - Spotify

Biography
Los Angeles based Noizu is quickly climbing through the ranks of house music. Making his debut on the Chris Lake and Skrillex curated ‘HOWSLA’ in 2017 with ‘Lasers’ before catching the eyes and ears of French label boss Tchami. His follow up release saw the Jungle EP, an instant live anthem supported by Diplo, Oliver Heldens, A-Trak, Jauz, Malaa and more. 2018 started with singles ‘LFO’ and ‘Wavey’, gaining huge support from Sirius / Diplo Revolution. The latter in particular receiving over 200 plays. Noizu’s first official remix came when he was asked by DJ Snake himself to tackle his Lauv featured smash ‘A Different Way’, which boasts over 4.8M Spotify streams at present. A champion for other new talent, Noizu has always given away his own stems post-release to encourage other young producers and has released several remix EPs highlighting the best new talent he can find. Other official remix offers came in and he selected songs by Tchami and Valentino Khan. He also took the idea of re-working the classic house anthem “Music Sounds Better with You” to his now friend Malaa. The song was released as a bootleg and has had over 1M Soundcloud plays and tens of thousands of downloads.
With a growing urge to adopt a label boss attitude, he set up Techné Records summer of 2018 with a view to working club releases globally and giving new talent a platform to show their skills. The debut release, a collaboration with Dombresky, could not have gone better. ‘Rave Alarm’ was launched and an instant festival anthem was subsequently made “Hottest Record in the World” by Annie Mac for BBC Radio 1. A top 10 Aria club track in Australia, this track has now been licensed and will receiving a big push with video in 2019. November 2018 saw Noizu make his LA debut, a packed headline show at Sound Nightclub. An incredible landmark for a project barely 18 months old but a true testament to the pace and quality of which the project is heading towards.
Cruising straight into 2019, Noizu started off the year with the much-anticipated release of ‘DANCE’ on Chris Lake’s Black Book Records, which quickly gained the support of some of dance music’s top names including FISHER, Chris Lake, Green Velvet, Claude VonStroke and more. After a packed set at Beyond Wonderland, Noizu gifted fans with his second release of the year ‘No More’ which gained the same ongoing traction of everything before it. Having already been played by some of the top DJs at major events around the world including Miami Music Week and Lollapalooza Argentina, this track is not one to be slept on. The year will undoubtedly continue to deliver more top-quality music on a host of respected labels as the ever-growing list of A-List support, co-signs and fan awareness grows. - Insomniac

Decent background music, nothing spectacular.
I thought she was saying "build a bear" when I just heard that too.
YAY Noizu getting top 30!
Big climb for noizu love to see it
idk if it's been mentioned already but the piano melody in Summer 91 sounds identical to the one from Example's One More Day lol
The chart so far is zzzzzz thank god for Marea though
Yasss at Noizu return.
New music struggles agin
If this Noizu song is a throwback to 1991 - he must be pretty ancient for a chart DJ then if he was partying at that time. Nice track though.
I really like Build A Bitch. Noizu is ok, it is growing on me a bit. Part of the song really reminds me of Body by Loud Luxury and Brando.
I bet you they end up playing Friday, peaches and bed again 😂

Biography
There’s a moment in a 2020 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe where Justin Bieber begins—quietly, hesitantly—to cry. “It was hard for me being that young and being in the industry, and not knowing where to turn, and everyone telling me they love me, and just turning their back on you in a second,” Bieber says, each clause kicking up memories like dust. The point isn’t to weep with or for him—he had more dreams come true in his first 25 years than most people manage in a lifetime. But he’s also one of the few pop stars of his generation to have truly grown up in public, weathering the cable newsification of celebrity culture in the internet era while still trying to develop as both an artist and a person. Even early on, you could tell he had his eye on the future, balancing a doe-eyed wholesomeness with earnest attempts at hip-hop and R&B, material that suited him as a kid with material that reflected his growth into adolescence and adulthood. Some teen-pop singers end up trapped in amber; Justin Bieber has, knocks and all, kept swimming.
Born in London, Ontario, in 1994, Bieber was famously discovered when his future manager, Scooter Braun, stumbled on some performance videos that Bieber’s mom had uploaded to YouTube to share with family and friends. Braun, who understood not only Bieber’s appeal but the potential of the internet, encouraged him to keep making videos and keep the equipment cheap—an approach that not only helped Bieber’s growing fanbase to understand that he was still just a kid like them, but drafted a new blueprint for how artists could reach audiences in the digital era. With the exception of a voice change around 2011, 2009’s My World, 2010's My World 2.0 and 2012's Believe are more or less of a piece: the sound of a boy trying to stick the landing into puberty. Released in 2015, Purpose showed Bieber developing a more thoughtful connection to his material, including collaborations with vanguard pop producers like Diplo, Skrillex and benny blanco. After a five-year break during which Bieber underwent significant personal changes—including a detox from touring life, a diagnosis of Lyme disease and a epiphanic marriage to Hailey Baldwin—he came back with 2020’s Changes. “People have been putting me on a pedestal,” Bieber told Apple Music. ""I didn’t ask for that. Obviously I love making music, but there are a lot of people that love making music and they’re not in the position that I’m in. I’m just trying to steward that wisely, steward my relationship wisely. I want people to take a look at my story—hopefully, my words can make a difference.” - Apple Music

I thought she did say Build a Bear in the censored version
I think they will skip one Måneskin song.
Peaches really didn't need another play, yaaaaawn.
It's quite annoying that this his most successful hit post-2019 but it's the worst of all of them imo, think I even prefer Lonely to this now.

Biography
Niall Horan
If you want to see something sweet, have a look back at Niall Horan’s 2010 audition for the The X Factor. The swoop of bleached hair, the boyish jitters, the idea that he was gonna become the Irish Justin Bieber and it was all—going—to—start—today. Of course, things worked out a little differently, but if teaming up with a few other contestant runoffs and starting a group—One Direction—that went on to break Beatles-level records is your consolation prize, you probably came out okay. Not that Horan had a lot of time to think about it. “When it was happening, it was like we were in our own little bubble and everyone else was outside it,” he told Apple Music on the occasion of his second solo album, 2020’s Heartbreak Weather. “I didn’t realize the phenomenon. Like, apart from the fact that we played to 60,000 people every night.” Born in Westmeath, Ireland in 1993, Horan grew up listening to stuff like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young—influences not immediately apparent in One Direction but that surfaced in his solo career. His first album, 2017’s Flicker, didn’t cling to youth. If anything, Horan—like Ed Sheeran—proved himself one of those artists capable of riding the divide between a teenage audience and a decidedly adult one, crafting earnest, uplifting folk-pop with a slight modern shimmer. Heartbreak Weather took the sound a step further, incorporating soul, dance, and classic pop-rock. Not that he’s aiming for cool. If anything, what makes Horan appealing is that he feels more like an Everyman than a rockstar—the boy from around the way who made good. Good thing he didn’t win after all. - Apple Music

Not a fan of Marea or Summer 91 but I'm glad the timing has worked out for them to get more respectable peaks, and a breath of fresh air compared to the stale songs R1 is still choosing to play!
'Peaches' is such utter garbage.
I think 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' was #29 in the last mids we saw - yay for Måneskin having two songs in the top 25
Am I the only one who likes Peaches?
Our Song only dipping a little, hopefully it can climb back up in the coming weeks! Can't get enough
Not a bad song this actually, actually refreshing to hear Anne-Marie on a non-dance song again.
Our song gone wrong way
Idk why they insist on playing some weird remix of our song and not the original
'Our Song' is surprisingly good, I wasn't expecting much from it all.
Our song deserves better...Hopefully it rises over the coming weeks.

Biography
Måneskin is a beloved and critically-acclaimed young Italian 4-piece-band aged from 18 to 21: Damiano (vocals), Victoria (bass), Thomas (guitar) and Ethan (drums). Måneskin means “moonlight” in Danish, a tribute to the bassist’s origin. Group members have known each other since middle school, but they started playing together only in 2015. Their sound is marked by different musical influences: a mix of rock, rap/hip hop, reggae, funky and pop, tied together by the soul voice of the frontman Damiano. 2018 the band released "Morirò da Re" (triple platinum) and "Torna a casa" (quadruple platinum) to anticipate "Il ballo della vita" (double platinum), their first studio album entirely written by Måneskin. “Il ballo della vita” went straight in at #1 on Italian top charts with more than 170 million streams. Their 80-concert-tour with 66 sold-out shows and more than 140.000 tickets sold both in Italy and Europe well represents their high-impact on the current national musical scene. Then they moved to London where they began working on their last brand new album "Teatro d'ira - “Vol I”, entirely written by themself, released this year on March 19th and anticipated by “Vent’anni” (platinum) and “Zitti e buoni” (platinum), the song was presented at Sanremo Festival and won it. During Sanremo Festival Måneskin announced four concerts in Italian big Arenas (December 2021) and ticket went sold out in few days; In May they won the #Eurovision song contest with "Zitti e Buoni". - Spotify

Back to back Måneskin
@ the Amanda Holden dig they just made.
Ahhhhhhh
So happy that they're smashing so hard right now! They're in the studio again at the moment but hopefully 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' gets a proper single push first.
The guitars in this
I wish they had played both Måneskin songs.
I gave this a curiosity listen earlier this week and had no idea it was gonna follow their ESC song into the UK chart!
Can actually see this hanging around too as it's in English. Really good track.
This is a bop.
First time hearing I Wanna Be Your Slave and I really like it (and I like having hard rock in the top 40)
Oh o Friday get close top 20
Quite an achievement for a Eurovision winner to have another hit, for it to happen the week after their win is unprecedented! People really took to them as an act, not just because of one song.
This song is crazy catchy, one of the biggest sounding rock songs in years. It feels like it could get a lot bigger than this but they could do with some radio support.
Soooo happy I was able to catch that live these guys are so amazing

Biography
Riton
Henry Smithson (born 13 September 1978), best known by his stage name Riton (/ˈriːtɒn/ REE-ton), is an English electronic music DJ and producer. - Wikipedia
Nightcrawlers
Electronic dance act the Nightcrawlers is based around DJ, producer, and vocalist John Reid. The act released the single "Living Inside a Dream" in 1992, it wasn't until "Push the Feeling On" that Reid achieved a Top Ten hit on the U.S. dance singles chart. The track was re-formed by Mark Kinchen with his "Dub of Doom" remix, which reached number 22 on the U.K. singles chart in 1994. For the four following singles, Reid worked very closely with Mark Kinchen, and all the singles featured Mark Kinchen remixes: "Surrender Your Love" (U.K. number seven), "Don't Let the Feeling Go" (U.K. number 13) "Let's Push It" (U.K number 23), and "Should I Ever Fall In Love(U.K number 34). It was a few years before "Never Knew Love" was released in 1999, “Push the Feeling On" was again remixed and re-released, this time by Rosabot, and went into the U.S. dance charts at number one.Reid is also an Ivor Novello award winning songwriter and has written songs for the likes of Pitbull, French Montana, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Keith Urban, Il Divo, Westlife, Rod Stewart, and Tina Turner. - Spotify

I wasn’t hot on Zitti e Buoni but I Wanna be your Slave is great!
MANESKIN KINGS!!
the fact they got TWO rock songs in the top 40 simultaneously - unfathomable!
Double Maneskin amazing. Hope IWBYS goes top 20 next week
So they skip one Maneskin song so that they can play a song they've played every week for the last 1,268 years.
Urgh, this needs to FOAD.
Made even worse by the fact my boss referenced it in a Zoom meeting earlier.
Yes you can't get rid of Friday that easily
Friday again Saturday sunday what
I'm enjoying Friday still
Wait, were we expecting I Wanna Be Your Slave to overtake Zitti E Buoni?
I do hope Zitti can get at least one more chart play before it drops out!

Biography
West London grime MC Che Wolton Grant (aka AJ Tracey) rose through the ranks of pirate radio, becoming one of the leading figures in U.K. grime's second generation of artists. Grant knew from a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in music, due in part to his parents; not only was his dad a former rapper from Trinidad & Tobago, his mother was a former drum'n'bass DJ from Wales. By age six, Grant had started writing rhymes, coinciding with the first great boom in grime. Although the genre temporarily lost its way, Grant soldiered on, unwilling to give up on his passion for grime. By the time he had reached his early twenties, grime had started another upswing. During this time Grant became proactive in his pursuit of radio spots, working his way up through pirate radio before scoring appearances on Rinse.DM, NTS, and eventually even BBC Radio One.
With his reputation in the world of radio firmly cemented, Grant released a string of EPs, beginning with The Front EP in July 2015, followed by the Alex Moran EP later the same year. In 2016, he further solidified his status as an emerging talent, with a combination of solid collaborations, more radio appearances, and the release of the Lil Tracey EP. The end of 2016 culminated with Grant's nomination yo BBC's Sound of 2017. That year saw him release a handful of EPs and singles including Secure the Bag and "False 9," as well as dabbling in production on "LA4AWeek." The following year Tracey delivered his first U.K. Top 20 single, "Butterflies," followed by the Top 40 single "Lo(v/s)er." Alongside the release of the singles, Tracey also worked on his debut album. The self-titled release dropped at the beginning of 2019, featuring a wide range of influences, including Afrobeat, dancehall, and country. - Apple Music

Biography
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin once joked that the two biggest challenges in his life were trying to follow Radiohead and trying to follow Brad Pitt. The Pitt reference was personal, of course—Martin had been married to Pitt’s former fiancée Gwyneth Paltrow—but his self-assessment still felt remarkably apt: Coldplay isn’t just one of the most popular bands in the world, but also torchbearers for a kind of mainstream art-rock whose roots reach back through Radiohead, U2, Pink Floyd and even The Beatles. Yes, the music is anthemic enough to fill arenas—“Clocks”, “Speed of Sound”, “Paradise”, “A Sky Full of Stars”—but detailed and atmospheric, too, stretching the conventions of modern rock without ever losing the emotional thread.
Formed in London in the mid-’90s, the band debuted with 2000’s Parachutes. Seasons have changed—the arty experiments of 2008’s Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, the electro-rush of 2011’s Mylo Xyloto, the eclecticism of 2019’s Everyday Life—but the core of their sound has been consistent: Propulsive, uplifting, grand but vulnerable. In crowded bars and lonely bedrooms, the effect is more or less the same: At the end of the day, Coldplay came for the heart. - Apple Music

so great for Måneskin! thanks TikTok
This Coldplay song has grown on me so much! It’s certainly not their best but I still really like it
Wow, Coldplay still relevant enough to have a segment of discussion and a single multiple weeks in the chart
Did they play Zitti e buoni last week?
Not surprised 'Slave' is doing better in most countries as it is in English. In my country Zitti is still #1 on Spotify though! Great to see them smashing.

Biography
Joel Corry
RAYE
Croydon, South London-based R&B singer Rachel Keen (aka RAYE) started her career at the age of ten, guided by her father and her guitar teacher. Her interest in music quickly led to small charity gigs and bouts of singing at her local church. By 2012, RAYE had enrolled in the prestigious BRIT school for music and singing, spending two years perfecting her craft, but she left in 2014 due to the limitations she was being taught and the desire to create her own rules. The following year, RAYE released her debut EP, Welcome to the Winter. The lead single, "Hotbox," was noticed by Olly Alexander (Years & Years) on Hype Machine; he got in touch with RAYE to discuss music, and arranged a meeting with the A&R department at Polydor. With major-label backing, RAYE kept busy in 2016, including co-writing her single "I, U, US" alongside Charli XCX, appearing as a guest vocalist on Jonas Blue's "By Your Side" single, and releasing the SECOND EP. She was back working with Charli XCX the following year, guesting on the singer's tracks "Girls" and "Dreamer." RAYE also delivered her own single, "The Line." The singles "Check" (with Kojo Funds) and "Cigarette" (with Mabel and Stefflon Don) were released in 2018. The following year saw RAYE issue the emotionally charged single "Love Me Again." - Apple Music
David Guetta
From his early days playing Chicago house in French discotheques to his long reign atop the pop charts, David Guetta has revolutionised dance music multiple times. Born in Paris in 1967, Guetta began DJing in the late ’80s, when the shimmery sound known as the “French touch” was taking shape. By the early 2000s, at his F*** Me I’m Famous parties in Ibiza, he had translated that melodic style into a clever merger of pop sass and club swagger. He parlayed that mix into pure platinum with hits like 2003’s “Just for One Day”, an energy-stoking rework of David Bowie’s “Heroes”, and 2002’s “Just a Little More Love”, a sultry bump-and-grind featuring R&B singer Chris Willis. That versatility—along with a knack for killer hooks—would become one of Guetta’s principal calling cards, and as EDM exploded across pop culture at the end of the 2000s, Guetta’s shapeshifting style led the way, yielding ecstatic affirmations (“When Love Takes Over”), feisty come-ons (“Sexy Bitch”) and unstoppable singalongs (The Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling”, which Guetta produced). Since then, his collaborations (Sia, Nicki Minaj) have kept listeners guessing even as his choruses—triumphant as a bottle of bubbly blowing its top—have proven one of pop’s most dependable pleasures. - Apple Music

Biography
There’s purpose in Dua Lipa’s euphoric pop. “For me, it’s about championing women and putting ourselves in the position of power,” the singer told Apple Music in 2020, ahead of the release of her second album, Future Nostalgia. “I have been inspired by the female alphas that have shown me that we can do it. And that we can wear the pants, you know? We need more of that in music.” Forcing the world to get a little more comfortable with female alphas has been a mission statement for Lipa (born in London to Kosovar Albanian parents in 1995) since her 2017 self-titled debut. It housed the triumphant breakup smash “New Rules”, the self-love anthem “IDGAF” and the assured “Hotter Than Hell”—songs which made it clear that this was no ingénue, but rather an outspoken, effortlessly cool face of pop’s future. Indeed, that status was cemented a year later when Lipa made history as the first female solo artist to receive five BRIT Award nominations. She won two and, in 2019, added two Grammys to her mantelpiece.
Despite the success of her debut, Lipa wasn’t interested in recreating its hits. “People always say, ‘The second album is really scary,’ but for me, it’s more scary to go back into the studio and try to create something like ‘New Rules’ or ‘IDGAF’ over and over again,” she said. “I feel like I’d end up in a vicious cycle of trying to get somewhere but never being able to mature as an artist.” And so, to move forward, she pivoted to the past, drawing on disco and funk—and filtering it through her ahead-of-its-time pop—to arrive at Future Nostalgia. Decadent and every bit as empowering as those early hits, it brought Lipa her first Mercury Prize nod, multiple Grammy nominations and a rightful place in pop’s upper echelons. And with it, too, came Lipa’s new purpose. Released just as the world went into lockdown amid the coronavirus crisis, Future Nostalgia became an urgent tonic for tough times—danced to in living rooms across the world. Yet Lipa wasn’t done there: Five months later, she unveiled Club Future Nostalgia, a thrilling remixed version on which the singer teamed up with club queen The Blessed Madonna, and guests including Madonna, Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani and Mark Ronson, to bring lockdown-fatigued listeners another dose of escapism. “I didn’t think I’d be putting albums out during a global pandemic,” added Lipa. “But it’s just about creating experiences for everyone at home. That’s the most important thing for me now.”
All of this, of course, is only just the beginning. “I really feel like I’m finding my feet,” said Lipa. “I feel so proud of Future Nostalgia as a whole and the most confident and the most myself making it. But I’m already planning the next move.” - Apple Music

Stay Flee Get Lizzy is known as the freshest production house out of the UK that fuses together Sincere's love for music and street culture. The first single, ‘Ay Caramba’, burst onto the scene in summer 2018 with an infectious chorus by Young T & Bugsey and lead vocals by rising rap superstar Fredo. The single coincided with a new collection by luxury clothing brand Lizzy which is championed by pioneering UK artists such as Jorja Smith, Fredo, Giggs and Stormzy. Since then SFGL has released collaborations with the likes of Central Cee, Popcaan and Tory Lanez, RV and Youngs Teflon. ‘Stay Flee Get Lizzy’ encapsulates the perennial influence black music has on street culture and vice versa. I'm kinda enjoying BED today but I much prefer the likes of The Business and Your Love.
YES LEVITATING!
It's no Ay Caramba but I like it.
This 'Meant to Be' is nice on first listen
It's great for Levitating to be top 20 again
Meant to be Mean.
Is levitating ever gonna leave? It seems to just keep on climbing while being on acr lol
That lyric about "swing both ways" made me giggle.

Biography
Leeds, U.K.-based vocalist Tom Zanetti began his career in the music industry primarily as a club promoter; his breakthrough night, Insomnia, became the most successful night at Leeds nightclub Mission for five consecutive years. Discovering he had a knack for club promotion, he went on to set-up a wider reaching events company called Sleepin Is Cheatin. His brand grew so much that a local television channel filmed a documentary, titled Sic Life, that tracked his daily working life. On the side, Zanetti would lend his vocals to a number of Leeds-based U.K. house producers. Eventually he released a few U.K. house singles under his own name, including "Darlin" and "You Want Me," both produced by friend and past collaborator Chris Lorenzo. - Apple Music

Biography
The way Lil Nas X tells it, it sounds simple, almost mystical. “I was just kinda bored,” he told Apple Music. “I wanted to put something up. So that’s what I did.” Not only did the “it” in question—“Old Town Road”—become a global phenomenon (and 2019 Apple Music Award winner for Song of the Year), it prompted surprisingly pertinent conversations about how we define and classify music. Was it country? Was it rap? Cowboy anthem or LGBTQ camp? TikTok novelty or legitimate pop song?
It was, of course, all those things, and pity those who couldn’t live with the contradictions. Born Montero Lamar Hill in 1999, Nas grew up outside Atlanta but came of age on the internet, turning to social media and meme-making out of boredom and teenage loneliness—feelings compounded by his struggle to resolve his sexuality. (He later became the first artist to come out while his record was at No. 1, though he’d figured that between the rhinestones and rainbows and the general vibe, it would’ve been obvious.) “I didn’t know it was gonna do what it did,” he said of “Old Town Road” and its companion EP, 7. “But it did what it did.” - Apple Music

Still in love with 'Montero'

Also amused at Del Amitri and Texas both being announced as "Scottish bands"
It's a shame to see Montero out the top 10, it had a good run at #1 though

Biography
Rag'n'Bone Man
As a bearded bloke with a great big voice trading under the unabashedly old-fashioned name of Rag’n’Bone Man, Rory Graham shattered the mould for music stars who broke out of in the 2010s. Then again, he was bound to break something given the power that pours out of him on “Human”, his debut single in 2016. The fusion of blues and hip-hop established the singer/songwriter—born in 1985 in the town of Uckfield—as one of the decade’s most unique new arrivals. It’s also an arresting showcase for the booming baritone that Graham himself was surprised to discover when he tried singing a Muddy Waters song at an open mic in the mid-2000s. Until then, he’d spent his teenage years rapping for hip-hop and drum ‘n’ bass crews in his hometown. His take on vintage blues—as well as soul and funk, two words he has tattooed on knuckles—still reflects his love of the more modern sounds and sensibilities provided by collaborators like producer Two Inch Punch a.k.a. Ben Ash on Rag’n’Bone’s 2017 debut album Human. With “Giant”—a 2019 match-up with Calvin Harris—Graham got another chance to show how his old-school gusto and soulful delivery can heighten a song’s intensity without overwhelming it or blunting its pop appeal. Even with all of Graham’s potential force, he knows the value of restraint, too. - Apple Music
P!nk
From the start, P!nk made it her business to be different: “Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears,” she sang on 2001’s “Don’t Let Me Get Me". “She’s so pretty/That just ain’t me.” Even as she rose in fame, she retained the whiff of an outsider—someone too frank, too unapologetic, too real for the show: not an icon, but a human being. As a girl, P!nk (born Alecia Beth Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, in 1979) loved Madonna and Janis Joplin, and tried her hand at opera, show tunes and punk rock. She started performing in clubs as a teenager, taking her name from Steve Buscemi’s "Mr. Pink” character in the Quentin Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs: quippy, edgy, ready for trouble. After the demise of her first group, Choice, which was briefly signed to LaFace Records, P!nk released her 2000 debut, Can’t Take Me Home, co-writing more than half the album’s tracks. A year later, she released M!ssundaztood, a leap forward both artistically and commercially, bridging the immediacy of club pop with songs that were confessional, genuine, frustrated and raw (“Family Portrait”, “Just Like a Pill”). That style paved the way for artists like Halsey, Kesha and just about every other major female pop star in her wake.
While her attitude was central to her appeal—whether she was tilting towards rock on 2003’s Try This or tipping back to dance on 2006’s I’m Not Dead—what really set her apart was her versatility: It was hard to imagine another singer capable of tackling something as bitterly sarcastic as “I Got Money Now” (“You don’t have to like me anymore/I’ve got money now”) and then shifting, with total credibility, to “Dear Mr. President” or “Who Knew”—who could be a punk one minute and an embracing, almost maternal comfort the next. She also set new standards as a live act, incorporating aerial dance and acrobatics into her extravagant stage shows. (Check out her performance of “Sober” at the 2009 VMAs for proof.)
In 2012, The Truth About Love marked another career high, tackling marriage, parenthood and the heft of Real Adult Emotions with a frankness that was funny, touching and refreshingly unsentimental (“It’s whispered by the angels’ lips,” she sang on the title track, “and it can turn you into a son of a bitch”). Speaking to Beats 1 host Zane Lowe about 2019’s Hurts 2B Human, she described the album’s title track in classic P!nk fashion—welcoming, human, but with an edge: “Everybody is going through something. And the point is, it’s all about your village, it’s all about your people, and the circle you create around you to get through all the bullshit in this world.” - Apple Music

Biography
Even in the crowded field of mournful singer-rappers, Polo G stands out. It’s not the depth of his trauma—poverty, hunger, gang violence, drug addiction, and prison, all before his 20th birthday—or even his willingness to share it. It’s his focus. Listen to a Polo record—“Heartless,” “Pop Out,” “Through da Storm,” “Go Stupid”—and you can hear an artist obsessed by craft. The flow is dense but melodic, the lyrics plainspoken but crammed with imagery and detail, more in tune with classic rap virtuosity than the loose impressionism that ruled most of the 2010s. And in a culture of rappers making records back-to-back-to-back to capitalize on interest, Polo has been borderline stingy: no mixtapes, no bloated deluxe editions three months after the initial drop, albums running closer to 40 minutes than 80. He’s said in the past that he doesn’t freestyle, he writes. And when he’s done writing—that’s when he goes to record. And if he doesn’t love what comes out at the session? Like, love-it love? He keeps it to himself.
Born Taurus Bartlett in 1999, Polo was raised in Chicago public housing, coming up through the rough, quick-delivery style of local hip-hop known as drill. Like local heroes G Herbo, Lil Durk, and, to a lesser extent, Chief Keef, Polo’s primary subject was pain: personal, racial, generational. But as compelling and tightly wound as his debut was (2019’s Die a Legend), he knew you could only get so much mileage out of the same story, and took his follow-up—2020’s THE GOAT—as a chance to evolve, exploring more pop- and club-oriented sounds while retaining the intensity that makes his performances shine. - Apple Music

Biography
Raised on Eminem and 50 Cent, Australian rapper Masked Wolf developed a rap style that paired astute, often personal lyricism with clean production values. He slowly built a listenership with a series of stand-alone tracks, hitting streaming numbers in the multimillions with his 2021 single "Astronaut in the Ocean." Masked Wolf was born Harry Michael and grew up in Sydney. By age 13, he was writing his own rap songs, inspired by favorites like Eminem and Kevin Gates. As he grew up, he discovered other rap influences, and worked some of Drake's cool-headed poise and the sinister atmospheres of American trap production into his songs. Early tracks like 2018's "Speed Racer" and 2019's "Vibin'" gave way to tracks that addressed topics such as mental health and peer pressure on songs like "Numb." Masked Wolf's fame grew exponentially with the release of "Astronaut in the Ocean" in January 2021. The song quickly accrued more than 75 million streams in under a month and set the scene for his music to reach a new level. - Apple Music

Yessss at Little Mix making the Top 10. The only bad song in the Top 10 is Body which should hopefully be remedied next week
Yay for Confetti.
Mimi Fricking Webb keeping 'Rasputin' out of the top 10.
What are the chances of majestic aiming for a Christmas number one by reworking Mary's Boy Child / Oh My Lord?
Olivia wannabe.
Rasputin would be a very welcome addition to the top 10 but I really like Good Without too.
What is a Mimi Webb?
Mimi is ok but a bit boring, I prefer Griff's Black Hole (which I'd prefer to have been played over this)

Biography
As the first group to win The X Factor, Little Mix set a high standard from their formation in 2011. In the years since, the quartet have exceeded any expectations placed on them, performing spirited pop that unapologetically shows off its members’ personalities and effortlessly fit in with the 2010s’ constantly shifting pop trends. Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall had all auditioned as solo singers when trying out for The X Factor but were put together early on in the show’s run, and their charisma and harmonies won over viewers. Little Mix’s first single from their 2012 debut album, “Wings”, was an ideal opening statement for them, its themes of empowerment boosted by a stomping beat and a sing-along-worthy chorus. Since then, they have channelled confident girl groups like the Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child as well as forward-thinking singers like Janet Jackson and Rihanna, with singles like the sparkling “Black Magic”, the defiant “Shout Out to My Ex” and 2017’s chaotic Stormzy collab “Power” combining no-nonsense lyrics with immediate beats. In 2020, they cemented their legacy both on record and with Little Mix: The Search, a reality show tasked with putting together a next-generation girl band—demonstrating that their goal since they were put together in the early 2010s has been lifting up women all over the world through energetic, danceable pop. - Apple Music

Biography
Galantis
What happens when two producers who live and breathe pop and dance music set aside the digital bells and MIDI whistles and sit down at the piano first? That’s what Christian Karlsson, aka Bloodshy, and Linus Eklöw, aka Style of Eye, ask themselves every time they hit the studio as Galantis. Since 2013, the Swedish duo has crafted some of the most unforgettable songs in dance pop, and they’ve done it by turning the usual equation—make a beat, then graft a melody on top—on its head. It’s a holistic approach that makes their hooks stand out—and their drops are nothing to sneeze at, either. The two met when Karlsson’s trio Miike Snow hired Eklöw to remix the group’s 2009 hit “Animal,” and the producers found common ground in arcane synths and the nuances of songwriting. Both brought serious clout to the table. Karlsson, born in rural Loftahammar in 1975, had penned plenty of pop hits—including Britney Spears’ 2003 smash “Toxic”—in the duo Bloodshy & Avant; Stockholm native Eklöw, born in 1979, had cut his teeth making frisky house and techno as Style of Eye, and in 2012 he had co-written and co-produced Icona Pop’s “I Love It.” Galantis’ debut album, 2015’s Pharmacy, proved a perfect merger of their skill sets, pairing the filter-swept rush of mainstage EDM with canny chord changes and sly melodic twists. That versatility has become Galantis’ calling card. In the mid-2010s, as big-room house ruled the festival landscape, they cleverly used EDM’s techniques as a Trojan horse to seduce unsuspecting ravers with joyous, carefree pop songs like “Runaway (U & I)” and “Peanut Butter Jelly.” In the years since, even as dance trends have changed, Galantis hasn’t much altered their approach; they’ve branched into tropical rhythms and slinky R&B accents, and fleshed out their own emotive falsettos with guest spots from John Newman, OneRepublic, and even Dolly Parton. But the heart of Galantis remains the same: powerful grooves and uplifting choruses, as elemental as ebony and ivory. - Apple Music

It sounds EVEN better being in the top 10
"Confetti" is a horrible mish-mash of a song. Little Mix's worst single by a long way.
Loving Confetti!
Why is Confetti climbing that much?
I like Confetti but this is so much better
Heartbreak anthem is so good! Please let this go top 5 over the coming weeks
I didn't get this at all on the first couple of listens but I'm warming to it (more so the production), the enunciation is rather weird at parts.
Great for Little Mix, their 18th top 10 and second as a trio.
I prefer Heartbreak Anthem to Confetti, so I’m glad this has moved up a place.
If this could climb to #4 that would make Galantis' chart history extremely satisfying (let's pretend Rich Boy doesn't exist )
Amazing stuff! So, so proud of them!

Biography
BTS (Korean: 방탄소년단; RR: Bangtan Sonyeondan), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a seven-member South Korean boy band that began formation in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The septet—composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—co-writes and co-produces much of their own output. Originally a hip hop group, their musical style has evolved to include a wide range of genres. Their lyrics, often focused on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work features references to literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline. The group has released several albums and performed on several world tours.
After debuting in 2013 with their single album 2 Cool 4 Skool, BTS released their first Korean-language studio album, Dark & Wild, and Japanese-language studio album, Wake Up, in 2014. The group's second Korean studio album, Wings (2016), was their first to sell one million copies in South Korea. By 2017, BTS crossed into the global music market, leading the Korean Wave into the United States and breaking numerous sales records. They became the first Korean group to receive a certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for their single "Mic Drop", as well as the first Korean act to top the US Billboard 200 chart with their studio album Love Yourself: Tear (2018). BTS also became the fastest group since The Beatles to earn four US number-one albums, doing so in less than two years. Love Yourself: Answer (2018) was the first Korean album certified platinum by the RIAA. In 2020, BTS became the first all-South Korean act to reach number one on the Billboard Global 200 and US Billboard Hot 100 with their single "Dynamite" and remix of "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" and, with the release of "Life Goes On", became the first group to have two number one debuts on the Hot 100.
Having sold over 20 million albums on the Gaon Music Chart, BTS is the best-selling artist in South Korean history and holds the best-selling album in South Korea with Map of the Soul: 7. BTS was ranked at number 45 on Billboard's Top Touring Artists of the 2010s, the only non-English speaking act on the list. During their Love Yourself World Tour, BTS became the first Asian and first non-English speaking act to headline and sell out Wembley Stadium and broke the record for the single highest-grossing engagement in Rose Bowl Stadium history. Featured on Time's international cover as "Next Generation Leaders", BTS has also appeared in the magazine's lists of the 25 most influential people on the internet (2017–2019) and the 100 most influential people in the world (2019), where they were dubbed "Princes of Pop". Forbes Korea named BTS the most influential celebrities of Korea in 2018 and 2020, and BTS ranked 43rd in the Forbes Celebrity 100 (2019) as one of the world's top-earning celebrities. As of 2019, BTS is purportedly worth more than $4.65 billion to South Korea's economy each year, or 0.3 percent of the country's GDP. They attract one in every 13 foreign tourists that visited South Korea and were cited as one of the key acts in boosting global music sales to $19 billion in 2018.
Following the establishment of their Love Myself anti-violence campaign in partnership with UNICEF, BTS addressed the United Nations 73rd and 75th General Assemblies and became the youngest ever recipients of the Order of Cultural Merit from the President of South Korea due to their contributions in spreading Korean culture and language. - Wikipedia

Of the two tracks I prefer Confetti, Heartbreak Anthem is a bit basic really
Oh no I really hoped Rasputin was going to make it!
As anyone has already said, this BTS song reminds me of that boring Bruno Mars single.
Butter achieving what Dynamite couldn't and managing a second week top 10.
It's nowhere near as good but I still really like it.
Back-to-back Måneskin and Little Mix in the chart really happy that the girls have another top 10 now!
How is BTS this high? Last time I checked it wasn’t that high on Apple, Spotify or Amazon and only been like top 10 on iTunes although it moved up to #2 today.
Least theres not that big a fall for BTS, should hang around too if its as big as 'Dynamite'.
Butter still slaying

Biography
hi there! my name is olivia! I’m 18 years old and writing songs is my favorite thing to do in the world. I’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember and I fall more in love with it every day. The first song I ever got published was called “All I Want.” I wrote it for a show I act in and it was a super cool experience that opened up a lot of doors for me. On the last day before Covid lockdown, I met the team at Interscope/Geffen records and a producer named Dan Nigro for the first time. It turned out to be a very momentous day for so many reasons. I spent most of quarantine writing songs in my living room and producing them in a garage, including ‘drivers license’. It was always a really special song to me but I never expected the response it got. It absolutely blew my mind and I still to this day refuse to believe it all actually happened. The day I am writing this is actually the day that I turn in my debut album! I’m sooo excited for you to hear it and I feel so grateful that I get to make music for my job. - Spotify

Ugh hate these divided chart runs due to the three track rule!
We didn't need this, get brutal in the chart instead.
Cue the buzzjack moans . I do wish traitor was here instead but driver's license is still stunning.
DL coming to ensure its YE #1 position (I know it's sales not chart positions but still)
Thanks OCC for the three tracks rule!
The three track rule has really effed up the chart run for this.
get TRAITOR back drivers license bug off
So we're back to the only #1s to have not visited any other Top 10 positions being single-week #1s.
If this could re-enter, why not Wellerman?
At least they’ve played a shorter version but yeah I wish this was traitor or brutal instead.
I didn't like Traitor when it was played last week so I prefer to have this back.

OMG LITTLE MIX DID THAT
I'm enjoying these Olivia tracks today
At least the Olivia tracks are in the right order!
Really Like 'Deja Vu', best song by Olivia!
I think "Deja Vu" is by far her best single - just to think that when it was first released it only looked like peaking at 27. It's great that it's got a good innings though.

Biography
Some call the end of summer the “slow news season”—school's still out, holidays are in full swing, and headlines tend to get weird—and Doja Cat (born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini in 1995) knew just what to do about it. In August of 2018, the Los Angeles singer and rapper dropped “Mooo!”, a sultry R&B jam, thick with double entendres and sung from the perspective of a cow. It went viral, thanks to an unforgettable, improbably catchy chorus that had people wondering: Could she possibly be for real? But Doja, who released her debut EP, Purrr!, in 2014, and her first album, Amala, in 2018, was no novelty act. In the years since, she has proven herself one of pop music’s savviest, most audacious characters. She raps nimbly, switching up her cadence from one syllable to the next, and her pop-culture nods (referencing actresses Tia and Tamera Mowry or sampling blink-182 and Paul Anka) are just as unpredictable as her dizzying flow. Her presentation is both tough and coquettish. As she demonstrated over and over on her 2019 album, Hot Pink, she assumes a fun and fundamentally empowered stance in her singing and rapping about sex. And woe to anyone who might take issue with that: “Sex is meaningful, it is!” she told Apple Music, with her trademark defiant charm. - Apple Music

Biography
Russ Millions
Shylo Batchelor Ashby Milwood (born 20 March 1996), known professionally as Russ Millions or Russ Splash or simply Russ, is a British rapper and songwriter. In December 2018 he released his single "Gun Lean" on Virgin Records. The track peaked at number 9 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the first UK drill track to reach the top 10. The dance that Russ performs in the music video became a "dance craze" and was mimicked by footballers including Jesse Lingard. It was ranked by The Guardian at number 10 on their list of "greatest pop music dance crazes". In April 2019 his follow-up single "Keisha & Becky" with Tion Wayne entered the UK Singles Chart at number 19, and later peaked at number seven. The song later became BPI platinum certified. - Wikipedia
Tion Wayne
Tion Wayne first started to make a name for himself in 2010 after dropping a handful of videos for various online streaming channels. The Edmonton, North London-based MC quickly started to rise through the ranks of a predominantly D.I.Y. underground scene, and by 2014 delivered his first proper mixtape, Wayne's World. Continuing to push his sound on social media and online video streaming, Wayne had built a loyal following by 2016 and had supported artists such as U.S. rapper Rick Ross and Ghanaian hip-hop artist Sarkodie. His follow-up mixtape, Wayne's World, Vol. 2, was also released that year and saw him joined by the likes of One Acen, Scorcher, and frequent collaborator Afro B. Wayne released the Transition EP in 2017 while also playing a host of live dates across the U.K., including a sold-out show at London's Electric Ballroom. - Apple Music

Looks like "Good 4 U" is my birthday #1 this year, not "Body"
Body is quite a bop to be honest
Oh they don't play the "Body" remix then? That's the one that's getting most of the streams.
"To whoever@officialcharts.com
Yeah Hi dont think i didnt notice that sudden 52 place drop in the album chart totally nothing suspicious there. i better get a good f***in explanation or youre f***in done for mate"
Am I coming on too strong?
I assume there isn’t a clean version of the body remix. I would love to hear them play it

Biography
Talk about an unexpected career trajectory. In 2007, 23-year-old Calvin Harris released I Created Disco, a cheeky shot across dance music’s bow that presented him as Scotland’s brow-arched answer to LCD Soundsystem. Fast-forward a few years, and the scruffy fellow playing house-party host in the “Merrymaking at My Place” video is suddenly baring oil-slicked abs on Calvin Klein billboards. What happened, of course, is that Harris (born Adam Richard Wiles in 1984) traded up from the Amiga computer of his teens, developed some of the best studio chops in the business with deep-house rollers like 2013's “Thinking About You,” and helped spark EDM’s pop crossover with hits for Rihanna, Florence Welch, Ellie Goulding, and others. Along the way, he became one of the 2010s’ first DJ/producer/songwriter polymaths to earn top billing even on the songs in which he didn’t sing. No stranger to pyro-lit main stages—his percussive, synth-strafed 2014 single “C.U.B.A.” is big-room house at its most gargantuan—Harris has resisted getting boxed into any one sound. On 2017’s Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, he lays down a set of slinky R&B jams for Frank Ocean, Migos, and Young Thug, while the 2018 singles “Promises,” with Sam Smith, and “One Kiss,” with Dua Lipa, proved just how versatile his vision of pop can be. - iTunes

Really enjoyed that chart today tbh! I hope good 4 u can have a long run at #1, I can’t see it dropping from number 1 until a big new release comes out, can’t see any of the current songs knocking it off.
Do you guys think that Kiss Me More will ever to go #1?
The way traitor would have got a new peak this week
House & Garage new at #46 today. Hopefully it will be top 40 next Friday.
What's the chance of another version of 3 Lions, topping the charts very soon, with the UEFA EURO 2020 Tournament starting next week
How did Black Midi fall from #8 on Wednesday's update to #60 today??
for Fred again.. finally making the top 40 this week. Also happy to see the new peaks for 'Save Your Tears', 'Confetti' and 'Astronaut In The Ocean' (plus 'Rasputin' although disappointing that it stalled at #11, shame it couldn't overtake Mimi) and 'ZITTI E BUONI' managing a second week in the top 25 at least, it is still in the top 40 on Spotify so hopefully will stick around for at least one more week. And good to see that 'Higher Power' is managing a pretty decent chart run - it's by no means a classic amongst their discography but it is growing on me, I cannot deny its feel good vibes x
Finally got around to hearing 'good 4 u' yesterday and it is another really strong single from her (a few questionable lyrics aside x), all for it being this huge.
Can Astronaut In The Ocean finally climb into the Top 10 next week?
Hopefully further gains for I Wanna Be Your Slave as well.
If my scrolling through charts serves me correctly I think ZITTI E BUONI is the first Eurovision song to spend more than one week in the Top 30 since Euphoria which is pretty impressive!
Also I never thought I'd hear a sound like that of I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE in the charts again in my lifetime save for random charity gimmicks Of course the questionable lyrics stop me from putting it on my playlist but hopefully this is a sign of better things to come in the charts!
hooray for Fred Again finally making top 40 this week! great to see Måneskin well inside the top 30 with both their songs too.
Rasputin peaking at #11 is a big shame though especially with what is at #10.
Yeeey at Stay Flee Get Lizzy back in the charts 3 years after the smash Ay Caramba!
To this day I'm not exactly sure what the entity 'Stay Flee Get Lizzy' is meant to be. It definitely doesn't appear to be anyone involved with the actual music - I've checked the production credits and the three SFGL hits all have distinct producers, most of which are fairly big names - seems to just be used as an artist tag for the songs to promote the clothing brand Lizzy who I guess must be sponsoring the songs (similarly to 'GRM Daily' being used as an artist tag for songs that were 'commissioned' by the GRM Daily channel).
In practice it might as well just be an alias of Fredo given that the songs with Fredo are the only ones that ever chart
Hooray! Marea made it!
Maneskin having some staying power
I hope Starstruck and Summer 91 hit the Top 20
