Obsessed had a rather messy release in the UK, eventually being cancelled before its release. It did of course get released with the album on iTunes and peaked at #52 in the UK singles chart, which of course is still quite disappointing for a Mariah lead single. It fared far better in the US, peaking at #7! The song is said to be about Eminem, who claimed to have a relationship with Mariah and wrote several songs about her following it.
