No way has 19 has sold 2.94m - it was only certified 8x Platinum last February. Plus, Life for Rent (11 places higher) was on 2.9m last October.

With 19 not 9x Platinum (2,700,000), that would have Adele somewhere between 11.1m and 11.4m as an overall total! |

I'm guessing they meant 2.49m. What's weird is that I would have understood if it was openly stated as having sold 2.94m (meaning that I could simply acknowledge it as a typo), but since they actually totalled the 3 albums, they must be pretty certain that it did sell that much.

Now corrected on OCC web site.
Adele's triology of albums have a combined total of 11.17 million chart sales, including 5.16 million for 21. The record is the UK's best-selling album of all-time by a solo artist, certified 17x Platinum. So 11.17 - 5.16 - 3.56 = 2.45m for 19. Also, from Music week, Adele’s 21 (XL Recordings) has sales of 5,162,672, according to the Official Charts Company. |
