VÄLKOMMEN BUZZJACK till finalen av Buzzfestivalen 2016!! Now it's been a BUMPY ride getting here, (NOT ONE FUCKING SCHLAGER DROTTNING) as quite frankly the quality of this year was incredible. Andra chansen in particular threw up some shocks! But, we've still ended up with a final 12 of simply outstanding music. Even if you hate Eurovision, I would simply not believe you if you listened to these 12 tracks and didn't like at least 50% of them. I have literally NO IDEA what's going to win this, which of course makes it all the more exciting!!

01. Ace Wilder - Don't Worry
(MF result: 3rd in final)

Fresh from her Buzzfestivalen victory back in 2014 with fanwank favourite 'Busy Doin' Nothin', Ace returned with a spring in her step after getting an Ikea voucher for Christmas off Sanna. So with her brand spanking new light cubes, and a songwriting team consisting of the Debs and Anton Le Kid (Eurovision 2015 winners), Ace was one of the two pre-contest favourites. Sadly it wasn't to be for our Ace, however, she's a strong Buzzfave so has a great chance of taking back the Buzzfestivalen crown off Queenah Nah.

02. David Lindgren - We Are Your Tomorrow
(MF result: 11th in final)

The long awaited return literally no one was waiting for! Seriously, if Sweden gave two fingers to Eric Saade last year what did Christer think they were going to do to the embarrassing uncle of the scandipop-gays? Well it must have it's fans on Buzzjack, as it's made it here albeit via andra chansen (kicking out actual contest winner and teenage homosexual favourite Frans!). This is a great song, I mean, Sharon Vaughn of 'Release Me' and 'Survivor' fame wrote it. But it should've been given to someone else, because as a popstar, David is just so cringey to watch. This is a firm favourite for last place here I reckon, so into the death slot it goes *.*

03. SaRaha - Kizunguzungu
(MF result: 9th in final)

Behind Frans winning the whole damn thing, this has to be the surprise of 2016. No one could've guessed this as a finalist back in November, let alone it being the Hasse Andersson break-out hit of the whole contest. But really, if you're not bopping along to this slice of afropop, I fear for your soul. It was in the toughest MF heat for YEARS as well, and it still managed to win over Sweden and Buzzjack. Beating out Oscar Zia, SMILO and After Dark (</3), this is a dark horse, so discount it at your own peril!

04. Isa - I Will Wait
(MF result: Knocked out in andra chansen to SaRaha)

PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR so when she buggered it all up in andra chansen she only had herself to blame for not being able to reach the final for 2 years on the trot. It's SUCH a good song though, so I was still a little disappointed. Fortunately, we here in the Buzzverse have much better taste than the app voting Swedes and she arrived here direkt from the dismal 2nd deltävling. This is the only real classic MF ballad in the mix here so that if you're in that sort of mood when you're voting, this could do very well indeed.

05. Wiktoria - Save Me
(MF result: 4th in final)

Like Frans, this was another marmite track. I was very much definitely on the hate side of things when the contest was on, mainly because her live vocals were bloody appalling. However, since the studio version was allowed to grace its presence on streaming services, I've most definitely switched to the love side. That middle 8 especially! She's most definitely coming back in 2017, but do Buzzjack want her to return?

06. Oscar Zia - Human
(MF result: 2nd in final)

After crashing out in the heats back in 2014 with 'Yes We Can', Oscar finally realises his true dream of making the final of Buzzfestivalen. Winning the international jury vote in the real thing by 1 point is something I'm sure he's proud of. (Although I would've preferred him to win it by about 25 points x) This beat out quite a few favourites in our AC, so it could well cause some further upsets in the final.

07. Mimi Werner - Ain't No Good
(MF result: 5th in the 1st deltävling)

Did somebody say HOEDOWN THROWDOWN? *.* This little gem was TOSSED ASIDE by Christer and co into the first deltävling, where it sadly stood no chance against the heavyweights, not least of all Anna Book. So when she was disqualified (NEVER FORGET) there was a glimmer of hope for Mimi to actually make it to AC! But this is Melodifestivalen. And Melodifestivalen will never give you perfect results. If she giveth with a Bengtsson heat victory, she will taketh with a shattered dream (see also: Krista Siegfrids, SMILO). This is probably the gayest thing here, so expect some fans on Buzzjack.

08. Molly Sandén - Youniverse
(MF result: 6th in final)

Oh Miss Molly sad.gif THE hot favourite pre-contest, a Danny Saucedo co-write, dubbed the new 'Euphoria', it was literally hers to lose. And lose it she did! All the hype was washed away by a terrible British accent and some desk fans Ace picked up for whilst at Ikea. I think maybe the expectations were TOO HIGH, I mean, her 2015 'Like No One's Watching' EP is literally wall to wall 10/10 brilliance. She's a big Buzzfave though, so it might not be all over for Mrs. Saucedo (unless all the jealous thirsty gays penalise her).

09. Samir & Viktor - Bada nakna
(MF result: 12th (last) in final)

Speaking of thirsty gays! The above video is a visual treat for you all, which I think was meant to be the point considering it wasn't going to be an aural treat. But WAIT, the thirstiest gay of them all, FREDRIK KEMPE wrote the song!! With Saade and Ewald becoming 'serious artistes' now, Kempe had slim pickings for his annual twink contribution. So he wrote a song about skinny dipping and sent it to the two it boys of Sverige. And we all thank him for it.

10. Lisa Ajax - My Heart Wants Me Dead
(MF result: 7th in final)

FUCK YOU CHRISTER putting this on 2nd in the real final! 2014 Swedish Idol winner Lisa made her contest debut with an instant MF classic. For me as well she had the best vocals of the whole year, although the Andrex sponsorship was a little much. This is bound to be a huge Buzzfave and rightfully so.

11. Dolly Style - Rollercoaster
(MF result: Knocked out in andra chansen to Samir & Viktor)

HELLO HI! After a successful launch in 2015, the Dollies returned with Heidi and Amelle taking centre stage. And with a G:son/Boström song to back up that performance of PURE FUN, everything was set for the Dollies to right the wrong of being cruelly drawn against Queenah Nah in AC in 2015. But OH HOLD ON A MINUTE, they've only been fucked over again, this time being paired up with S&V. Third time lucky in 2017 perhaps? (And with Molly Pettersson Hammar as the new member)

12. Robin Bengtsson - Constellation Prize
(MF result: 5th in final)

Ladies and gentleman, the song that should be about to blow up in Europe and beyond after it's performance at Globen in a couple of weeks time and would've secured Sweden that lucrative seventh win (I'm fully aware Frans is 99% likely to do it anyway but SHUSH). However, the stars in Robin's constellation weren't aligned for him in the final, although he did win the first deltävling, beating Ace! Don't look directly into his eyes though.

---

Please send me your votes to myself via PM, by 23:59 on Friday 29th April using the following scoring system. Results will be the following evening. I will be pestering all of you all week to do it so it's probably best to get it done as soon as you can!

I hope for some upsets. Particularly Ace not winning.

Also I'm judging people not pointing Kizunguzungu on the basis of 'YOU DON'T KNOW FUN!'.

12 for Miss Molly sees her jump into 3rd place, however it's now Oscar Zia who leads the pack, with S&V close behind. Only queen of Swedish/African fusion SaRaha remains on noll poång.
