Having just watched Nightcrawler I'm very, very disappointed that Jake Gyllenhaal wasn't nominated for an Academy Award. Glad the Brits have seen the talent and nominated him for a BAFTA (fast becoming more credible than the US awards).

No big shocks there, most of it is quite predictable, even though I am suprised Bradley Cooper got nominated over Jake Gyllenhaal. I'm also very pleased Marion Cotillard got the nomination, her performance in Two Days, One Night is stellar! I haven't seen Cake yet, but people were expecting Jennifer Aniston to get nominated for her performance.

I find it very odd that Bennett Miller is nominated for Best Achievement in Directing, while Foxcatcher didn't even get the Best Picture nod. I would have given the nod to Ava DuVernay instead.
