BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Your favourite album?

Which Justin album is your favourite and why?

I absolutely love all three of his main studio albums, they're defining albums of the past 5+ years in my life and they're all actually pretty close in my affections too. However, I'd rank them like:

1. Believe - one or two duds aside, this is a killer album, full of amazing pop tracks with top notch production and lots of variety. My favourite album of 2012!
2. My Worlds - I'm sure this will be less popular on here but I have so many good memories with this album, it's a bit too long really (although I guess it was originally put out in 2 parts) and there's definitely a few duds but the highs are REALLY high.
3. Purpose - I've revisited this less than the top 2 but it's still a great album, and it's definitely the most consistent album he's put out.

If we're counting Under the Mistletoe and Journals, they'd be my bottom 2 anyway, in that order. Under the Mistletoe is fun, one I revisit every Christmas time, but doesn't live up to his proper studio albums. Journals was fine as a side project I guess but I find it a bit dull, and I'm glad he didn't continue that route for the proper third album.

1./2. Believe - This album has so many memories attached to it and always makes me feel nostalgic. The Believe era was when I truly fell in love with Justin so this album has a special place in my heart. I'm not the biggest fan of about 2 songs but the others are brilliant. Even after 5 year I would argue that this album doesn't even sound that dated.

1./2. Purpose - Critically this is definitely his best album and he really found his sound with this album. Only down side is that I think this album will sound very dated in 10 years time.

3. My Worlds - Back in 2012 when I got into Justin I really enjoyed this album and still do but I rarely listen to it. Its super cheesy and comparing his voice from this now is quite frankly bizarre laugh.gif

Under the Mistletoe and Journals don't really count as proper albums in my opinion. UTM is good but probably the weakest of the 5 (although it did give us the FLAWLESS 'Christmas Eve'). Journals was good at the time but not only was not really my sort of music, it has really bad memories associated with it because of the whole disaster that 2013-14 was for him. Stanning for him during that time was NOT fun and listening to Journals always leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Purpose for sure, Sorry/Love Yourself/Been You are the holy trinity of it. Believe is good too though because it has As Long As You Love Me which was always his best until Sorry and Love Yourself came along wub.gif

Yeah I don't count them as proper albums either! In terms of Journals, it did seem like it was the music he wanted to make so good on him, but I just couldn't get into most of the songs sad.gif Roller Coaster and Confident are great though, definitely my favourite two from that era.

For the memories, I think 'Believe' is my favourite. Some incredible album highlights ('She Don't Like The Lights') and high points with the singles.

I think in time, that will change to 'Purpose' though. The singles are absolute killer and it's easily his most consistent album as Joseph said.

I really don't have time for 'My Worlds' away from their singles sad.gif

Definitely Believe! So many highs and very few lows. The singles were handled perfectly, and I wouldn't have done it any other way. Been going back to Justin's catalogue recently, and have thoroughly enjoyed this album, and appreciated some more songs I didn't really take notice of before heart.gif

Purpose could well become my favourite in time as that's full of pure moments too!
