There's still tickets left as far as I can see! Unfortunately with it lasting up to 3 hours there's no way I'd get a train back in time but hopefully they show it properly on TV and not just a really edited version.

Does anyone know how much the circle seated tickets cost?

There are some standing tickets available right now but I'd rather hang back to see if anymore seats become available. But then if they're all over £60 like the standing tickets I'd rather not pay out at all laugh.gif

Posted by: Ryan. 27th February 2015, 09:01 PM

If I remember rightly, the cheapest seats were around £47ish with the expensive seats about £60ish.

I can't remember exactly but I'm sure there were 2 sets of standing and seating, one of each in the £40s and one of each in the £60s.

This is being broadcast on BBC One on Good Friday (April 3rd) at 9pm according to the BBC Entertainment PR guy on Twitter. I guess this is so BBC get the exclusive first showing as it seems several countries are showing it on April 4th.

Can't believe the show itself is less than a fortnight away now, very exciting!

Posted by: gooddelta 31st March 2015, 07:35 PM

Shirley Clamp is sitting about three rows in front of me *.*

Riverdance was the interval act aaahhhhh so amazing!

Posted by: Ryan. 31st March 2015, 07:38 PM

Absolutely sensational show so far - even Electro Velvet were great live as our warm-up act! Jon Ola Sand is just a few rows in front of me! laugh.gif

Posted by: gooddelta 31st March 2015, 07:39 PM

I have to admit, that Electro Velvet performance rather sold the song to me, it looks brilliant visually.

Posted by: LexC 31st March 2015, 08:16 PM

So apparently Dima Bilan is being booed to the echo in the hall. LOL!

Posted by: gooddelta 31st March 2015, 08:43 PM

The mention of Russia was as opposed to Dima specifically. The hosts re-recorded it and told the crowd off for booing laugh.gif

Posted by: Ryan. 31st March 2015, 09:27 PM

Yeah it was handled well considering, Dima himself got completely cheers so that was the main thing!

I'll give my full thoughts later but fantastic show! On my way out I'm sure I was walking next to Electro Velvet's Bianca and she was wearing an accreditation pass and walking with a crew member (and a man who wasn't Alex tongue.gif) so I guess it could've been her! If not it was an identical twin! laugh.gif Also I didn't spot Loreen in the final performance but it was a fantastic show closer!

Posted by: gooddelta 31st March 2015, 10:07 PM

Such cheers for Bobbysocks and Johnny Logan, the 80s fans were out in force!

It really was an incredible evening, works so well as a commemorative show, i look forward to seeing it edited together on TV!

Posted by: Qassändra 1st April 2015, 12:28 AM

OMFG WHAT A NIGHT

AS IF SHIRLEY WAS THERE TOO ohmy.gif The night STARTED AT 11 and only got better when I rocked up and found Nanne RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF ME AND GOT A PHOTO *.*

Posted by: Ryan. 1st April 2015, 12:52 AM

I've also just got back home! There are a few spoilers in this, so don't read any further if you don't want any but I'm mostly mentioning things that won't make the broadcast anyway.

I loved the fact that there were a few mistakes and retakes - at one point Petra's earring fell down her top and Graham spent a couple of minutes trying to put it back in with many innuendos! Also when Graham interviewed Lys Assia, the crown he gave her fell off so they had to do 2 more retakes and still couldn't get it done It sort of turned into Lys just saying 'Refrain' on repeat before something went wrong! laugh.gif

Really was a fantastic show, it's so hard to pick out a favourite performance - possibly Emmelie actually for me! I liked the fact that a few of the old non-English songs had a verse or chorus of English put in them and I agree with Rich that the older acts (in particular Brotherhood of Man, Bobbysocks and Jonny Logan) got massive cheers along with Loreen and Conchita - the atmosphere really was spectacular all night! The Russia incident was a shame and unnecessary in a celebration event but I'm glad once the initial booing was over that Dima got fantastic cheers like everyone else.

Natasha St-Pier was a stand-out for me. Possibly because she wasn't a big name compared to the majority so I had lower expectations, but her vocals were incredible and it was staged beautifully. I wasn't expecting to enjoy the older acts as much as the likes of Loreen and Emmelie but they were all fantastic - The Herreys were probably my favourite of the classics! The stage overall was a big surprise, I wasn't expecting something so good - it was more of a big arena stage than a small theatre stage which is what I was expecting. Great finale too but won't give it away, love the fact Dana International took like three separate bows (kink.gif) and when she sung a small part with Conchita that definitely was a crowd pleaser!

Really can't wait how to see it is put together on TV, I hope they don't cut any of the performances out - I don't see why they would as I'm sure without all the gaps that we had for retakes and stage set-up then everything will fit perfectly into a 90 minute show. Graham said the Electro Velvet performance may end up on the website and/or red button, although I think there's already LQ videos on the web anyway.

Oh yes, Riverdance was also a spectacular interval act!

Turns out this definitely was Bianca I was walking next to, spotted a picture on Twitter of her with John Kennedy O'Connor (and Alex) in the same dress I saw her in and in the same seating area as me too - so maybe the man I saw with her was Alex after all but I'm still not convinced it was him! I should've said hello - I'm not sure anyone else recognised her as no-one seemed to be stopping to speak to her! kink.gif

Posted by: gooddelta 1st April 2015, 07:55 PM

I wonder how many viewers will watch this on Friday and if anything will re-chart on iTunes?

Call me crazy but I feel like the biggest beneficiary could be Riverdance (maybe not on iTunes but in the public's consciousness), it won't have the novelty factor of 1994 but it may have the 'WOW, I remember that - it's still amazing' factor if enough people tune in. Euphoria for a chart return too please *.*

Congratulations! You’re a regular ˇeljko Joksimović (the Serbian host of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest). This result must make you feel like a Süper Star (the title of the Turkish entry in 2006). So, Loreen chose to wear her Obese Uncles waistcoat and pour chip-fat over her hair. Loreen is a true artist and I'm sure there is something symbolic with the performance, but it didn't work for me.

I also enjoyed Bobbysocks.

Johnny Logan is a pompous twat.

Petra is a legend.

They are my verdicts for tonight.

Posted by: Conderella 3rd April 2015, 09:49 PM

They are only going to show this here in 2 days. Ugh. Oh well I'll just download it from someplace instead of waiting~

Posted by: Ryan. 3rd April 2015, 10:33 PM

Great to see it all put together! They fit everything in apart from a few of the classic songs montages, they showed about 5 or so on Tuesday but only 2 made it in tonight if I remember correctly. Glad they minimised the booing prior to Dima's performance and they edited the Lys interview very well in the end considering all of the takes! laugh.gif

Overall it came across great on screen and the sound seemed pretty well mixed too, maybe except for parts of the 'Diva' performance but that's just a minor thing. I liked how they brought back those 1998 transition effects from the original 'Diva' performance to today's show.

Fantastic! cheer.gif

'Euphoria'actually came across much better on screen than live for me, I was in the upper seating section so couldn't experience the full stage production which looked fantastic on TV although of course seeing Loreen live is fantastic anyway. For me live on Tuesday, the 'Euphoria' production sounded the same as the original with a few added violins (like on the album version) but I could hear the differences in production much clearer tonight. Still sounded great to me though and it's nice that the production has a little bit of a refresh. Riverdance was incredible live, I'd never seen it properly before but it was fantastic.
