Portsmouth favourites again? I had money on them to win last season & they completely flopped!

Poor Accrington always have the worst odds but they really are the Villa of the Football League, just refuse to go down.

Pompey are always favourites due to their size, BUT this year I expect they will go up. They've spent a lot of money, and are buying/recruiting the top lower league players. I 100% expect them to go up as champions this year.

Yeah, g'won Exeter. Nice high scoring start.

Posted by: Flatcap Aug 15 2015, 08:44 PM

Carlisle have had two draws so far, good start. Rather lively up at Brunton Park today goal wise.

Posted by: Mack Aug 29 2015, 04:09 PM

Leyton Orient stay top of League Two thanks to their 2-0 win over Bristol Rovers which extends their perfect start and Plymouth go second after beating Newport 1-0 to leave the Welsh club bottom of the league.

Posted by: Flatcap Aug 30 2015, 08:10 PM

Carlisle also picked up their first league win of the season over Hartlepool. dance.gif

Posted by: Mack Sep 1 2015, 06:33 PM

And you'll be hoping for three points on Saturday for Carlisle, won't you, Flatcap?

Posted by: Flatcap Sep 2 2015, 06:38 PM

How on earth did you work that one out? angel.gif

Of course, Barnet at Brunton Park. Hopefully a home win to go with the away win. A home clean sheet would be nice too. I am not asking for much at all...

Posted by: Iz~ Sep 5 2015, 09:23 PM

FOUR! I thought I heard a large amount of cheering from the crowd today. First to topple Leyton too biggrin.gif

Just watched the highlights on C5, Exeter looked decent actually! Some of the Orient defending was pretty terrible considering thwyre top of the league laugh.gif Good crowd in there today too.

Quite an exciting game for you yesterday and a good result.

Posted by: Flatcap Sep 6 2015, 08:33 PM

It was indeed, rather nail biting as we heard it on the radio commentary. Hopefully not such a nerve jangler next week..

Posted by: Mack Sep 8 2015, 12:22 PM

Former West Ham captain Kevin Nolan is in training with Leyton Orient. Could he possibly move there?

Posted by: Flatcap Sep 13 2015, 02:59 PM

Carlisle have won again. cheer.gif Away to York next.

Posted by: Mack Oct 1 2015, 07:39 PM

Terry Butcher has left his post as Newport Country manager after being at the club since April 2015. Newport are currently bottom of the league with just one win in 10 games.

Posted by: Flatcap Oct 5 2015, 06:55 PM

After the disappointing defeat at home to Newport, two away wins on the bounce. And a clean sheet at last. It has been a long time since we had a plus goal difference.

Posted by: Mack Oct 16 2015, 07:38 PM

Worrying times for Northampton Town as they have been issued with a wind-up order and also they need to pay a £10.25m loan back from the local council by Thursday.

Thanks for clearing that up. My mistake. tongue.gif

Posted by: Flatcap Oct 18 2015, 09:43 AM

Yes, worrying times for Northampton. We have a journey down to them on Tuesday. Hoping for another win with a clean sheet.

Also what a goal from the Stevenage goalkeeper.

Cambridge United have parted company with their manager Richard Money who got them to the fourth round of the FA Cup earlier this year.

Posted by: steve201 Nov 3 2015, 06:53 PM

Is that the guy who got them promoted 2 seasons ago?

Posted by: Flatcap Nov 3 2015, 09:10 PM

Money did indeed lead them to promotion via play offs, along with winning the FA Trophy.

Posted by: steve201 Nov 3 2015, 10:35 PM

Ah know him from the football league show then, done well overall.

I almost don't want to mention it, but I hope Wigan bounce straight back up. Keep it up boys. wub.gif

I'm in Dreamland, don't wake me up. Carlisle in promotion play off places and a + goal difference...

This is a new excuse to blame for a defeat:

Algae? Not sure if it was just Carlisle's pitch that got flooded...

On football related news, won again. Up to 5th. I am pinching myself...

Chris Hughton, appointed Brighton manager on New Year's Eve last year, is now the 40th longest-serving manager in the league. The remaining 52 clubs either have no manager at all, or have a manager appointed in 2015.

Posted by: Mack Jan 21 2016, 05:24 PM

Leyton Orient have appointed Kevin Nolan as their player-manager.

Posted by: Flatcap Mar 4 2016, 10:25 PM

Heading into the weekend 3 points off the play offs, Northampton next though. thinking.gif

Congratulations to Northampton Town for winning promotion to League One following on from a probable winding-up order back in November, well deserved.

It's certainly been quite a turnaround for them!

Posted by: Flatcap Apr 21 2016, 06:44 PM

Indeed it has been quite a story for Northampton Town. At one stage, it may have seemed impossible for them to last the season.

Posted by: OutstandingMixer May 7 2016, 04:40 PM

Bloody Rovers scoring in the last minute to win promotion on goal difference. mad.gif

bast*rds sick2.gif

Posted by: Dobbo May 7 2016, 04:43 PM

Quite a finish that in League 2!

Personally I'm annoyed they didn't score just one more goal as that would have put Dagenham right at the bottom of the table & won me a small bet tongue.gif

Posted by: OutstandingMixer May 8 2016, 05:20 AM

I find it laughable that they were singing "Are you watching Ashton Gate". Yes, I'm watching from the Championship biggrin.gif

Enjoy League One Rovers, it's f***ing shit laugh.gif

Posted by: Mack May 10 2016, 07:09 PM

Gutted for Accrington Stanley there, really wanted them to go up.

Posted by: Steve201 May 12 2016, 09:42 PM

Same here such a small club too!

Fair play to Rovers though - two promotions in a row for them.

Posted by: Mack May 13 2016, 08:41 AM

2-2 after the first leg between Portsmouth and Plymouth with still everything to play for.

Posted by: Suedehead2 May 18 2016, 09:14 PM

The floodlights have gone out at Accrington Stanley laugh.gif It's 2-2 in extra time which puts Real Wimbledon 3-2 up on aggregate. They have about eight minutes to play.

Posted by: OutstandingMixer May 18 2016, 09:21 PM

All adds to the drama laugh.gif

Posted by: Suedehead2 May 18 2016, 09:23 PM

Someone's found another 50p and they are playing again.

Posted by: daz clark May 18 2016, 09:35 PM

well done to afc wimbeldon thorugh to play at wembley should be a good final

Posted by: Mack May 29 2016, 02:01 PM

If AFC Wimbledon get promoted they'll play 'franchise club' MK Dons in the same league, who stole their identity with the highly controversial relocation from Wimbledon to Milton Keynes in 2003. It would be an remarkable achievement from AFC Wimbledon to get into the third tier of the football league who were founded in 2002. Come on AFC Wimbledon tomorrow.

Posted by: Mack May 30 2016, 04:07 PM

The most fierce rivalry in English football will be revived as AFC Wimbledon have won promotion to the third tier, an remarkable achievement since they founded in 2002. The real Dons are in the third tier as well as franchise FC.

Posted by: Jimmy Jam May 30 2016, 04:24 PM

Yes! SO pleased for AFC Wimbledon! Congratulations to them!! cheer.gif

Posted by: Suedehead2 May 31 2016, 12:50 PM

Congratulations indeed to real Wimbledon. J Willgoose Esq of Public Service Broadcasting is a fan. He tweeted yesterday to say that the band would never play in Milton Keynes. He went on to say that they could form their own band and get there from scratch tongue.gif
