No more live matches on free-to-air ITV this season sad.gif , looks like I'm gonna have to stream the knockout rounds when my BT Hub BT Sport deal expires in the middle of this season sad.gif

It's a bit hard to predict who will win the Champions League this season but I hope Man Utd can get to the quarter final at least.

Anyone's guess, as ever. Chelsea will presumably do better, Arsenal may not if they're challenging for the league.

It is a shame that ITV lost the rights to show live matches for this season's Champions League. I agree.

However BT will be showing 12 matches including the final free-to-air on BT Sport Showcase.

So have ITV and Sky BOTH lost the rights? Glad I have BT, they're making some serious footy moves unlike previous flops (Setanta, ESPN).

The winner? Well it won't be Barcelona so either Real or Bayern for me.

Well at least it's better than I thought then. It is quite unthinkable for the Champions League final to not be shown on a free-to-air channel, I should imagine in any case that the viewing figures will decrease this season.

Champions League Play off:

Manchester United vs Club Brugge

Man Utd should be able to get past Club Brugge without too much difficulty.

A look at the Champions League play-off round:

Astana v APOEL Nicosia
Skenderbeu v Dinamo Zagreb
Celtic v Malmo
FC Basel v Maccabi Tel Aviv
BATE Borisov v Partizan Belgrade
Lazio v Bayer Leverkusen
Manchester United v Club Brugge
Sporting Lisbon v CSKA Moscow
Rapid Vienna v Shakthar Donetsk
Valencia v Monaco

What do you people make of the draw?
Should be no worries for Man United there in their match with Club Brugge. Intruging how the Lazio v Bayer Leverkusen and the Valencia v Monaco matches will go.

I knew Celtic were going to draw Malmö. Nice trip to Sweden for them.

Some different teams could get to the group stages like Astana could be the first team from Kazahstan to be in there if they beat Apeol in a playoff.

Astana
Dinamo Zagreb
Celtic
Basle
Bate
Lazio
United
Sporting
Shaktar
Valencia

Anyone watching the European Super Cup final between FC Barcelona and Sevilla. Doesn't seem as if BT Sport Showcase are showing that match.

Hopefully the highlights on ITV will be worth watching.

A quite incredible match ends in a 5-4 victory to Barca! Sevilla came back from 4-1 down to take it to extra but want away striker Pedro slammed home the winner 5 minutes from time.

Which channel is BT Sport Showcase? I have never heard of that channel before, is it on Sky Digital?

I just caught the highlights of the Super Cup on ITV +1. It looks like it was a really phenomenal match but it just doesn't feel the same watching highlights instead of watching the match live. It's sad that this is how Champions League matches will be viewed this season for people who don't have BT Sport, hopefully ITV will be able to somehow get the rights to broadcast live Champions League matches back next season.

I'm afraid Hazza Chapman that ITV won't be able to get the rights to broadcast live Champions League matches as early as 2018.

Listening to the Man Utd v Club Brugge match on 5 Live and Club Brugge have taken the lead thanks to a Michael Carrick own goal.

4 minutes later and Man United have equalised thanks to a Memphis Depay goal.

Should be back to normality here.

What a fantastic return to Champions League football for Man U. Really f***ing fantastic.

However, 5 mins later the Depay goal was lovely. Very thrilled that he's got his first proper united goal.
