Its a shame people don't know how to act in the cinema sad.gif came back from Conjuring 3, and it low key ruined my time. People with their flashlights on the phones looking for their allocated seating 20 my inutss into the film, talking throughout, texting/on their phone throughout. Like fine....do that at home? What's the point???? Lmao maybe it's just me being old but it doesn't make sense to me.

I try to stick to independent cinemas or Everyman for this reason tbh lmao

Nah, that infuriates me too!

Whenever I go to the cinema I get there in good time (I'm a trailer watcher!) and I switch my phone off. Cba with the bullshit behaviour you described. Ugh.

I hate that too. If I can be arsed I'll get them told off/kicked out if they are really taking the piss (go and complain to the disinterested low-paid young adults in charge), but usually I just move to the front row glaring at them and making a point of it as I move. I prefer an empty row at a not-very-busy time and am quite happy at the front teresa.gif

Yep, that's the reason I avoid seeing mainstream films and/or pretty much anything with a maximum 15 certificate, especially as my free times are half term/school holidays! kink.gif My worst experience was The Invisible Man (which was one of just three I saw in the cinema since March last year!), every seat full, lots of the noisy latecomers with lights on their phone, people chatting/not paying attention and shouting at the screen :/

I often either go to early screenings, independent chains or just more obscure films that would attract people who don't just see films as a social event and pay attention to the film. Blade Runner 2049 had about eight other people, all completely silent and was bliss wub.gif

I've seen just six films this year - none in the cinema - and barely one per month isn't great going.

Midsommar
Drag Me To Hell
Nomadland
Bug
Tenet
La Cité de la Peur

(I now see that there's a separate thread for films in general but oh well x)

The only 2021 film I have seen in the cinema so far is Judas And The Black Messiah [probably my fave of the 2021 films so far]. Others i've seen were on Netflix; The Dig and The Mitchells Vs. The Machines.

Watched The Father. What a gut-punch of a film it was. Was beautifully made and well acted by Anthony Hopkins (who definitely deserved the Oscar), with good supporting turns from Olivia Colman & Rufus Sewell. Was almost like a psychological horror in some places.

1) Nomadland
2) The Father

Went to see "The Courier" starring Benedict Cumberbatch last night. I really enjoyed it, especially given that I had no expectations going into it. A really great and tense Cold War espionage thriller.

1) Nomadland
2) The Father
3) The Courier
