 Moving onto Album #9 with 2003's American Life which was a concept album with themes of the American Dream and materialism. With production by Mirwais & Madonna herself, the album is a folk and folktronica album; as well, it is influenced by acoustic music. Upon release the album received mixed reviews but managed to sell over 5 Million copies worldwide, while far from a failure, it was still a far cry from the sales of her previous efforts. 5 singles overall were released from this project, but which is your fave? Nothing Fails
Love Profusion Die Another Day Hollywood American Life Nothing Fails is glorious   The rest are kinda like the worst tracks on the album for me. The album is so half and half for me and I find I love the other tracks (bar I’m So Stupid). I can see why she went with those single choices but yeah they’re not great for me. Nobody Knows Me deserved better

2) Die Another Day 3) Hollywood 4) American Life 5) Love Profusion 'Nothing Fails' definitely should have been a fully released single. Even if it didn't turn the era around commercially, at least the era might be more fondly thought of retrospectively. 'Nobody Knows Me' would have been a good single too. |

09 Hollywood 08 Die Another Day 07 Nothing Fails 03 Love Profusion The best songs on the album weren’t singles, except maybe the title track. Nobody Knows Me, Easy Ride and Mother and Father > the rest. |
