A really good line-up this year actually, all five are some of my faves
1 Natalie Portman 2 Annette Bening 3 Nicole Kidman 4 Michelle Williams 5 Jennifer Lawrence Definitely Portman's best ever role for me, she helped make the film so spectacular and she can do crying so well, she's way out ahead for me this year. This is my fave Bening role too, she was hilarious in this but also very emotional at other times, surely she'll get that elusive Oscar soon? Nicole and Michelle were good and I liked how heavy their roles were but neither are career-highlight performances really. JLaw was definitely the best thing about WB but she couldn't save the film from being so boring and it's one of her least exciting performances ever. I feel a bit bad about gettin rid of Lawrence as she is good in it but I really think Julianne Moore should have had her spot for The Kids Are All Right. Annette definitely had the better character but I think it's a shame that Julianne got no nomination for her also excellent work |

Natalie just destrpyed everyone that year tbh. One of the best acting performances ever IMO. Helped of course by Sebby's scene
That said, a VERY strong year, JLaw aside, bitch. Would have been nice to see Julianne there for The Kids Are Alright Nice to see Emma and Anne recognised at the GG, both solid performances. |
