A musical based on the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the United States. It tells the story of his life across 2 acts where the songs are a blend of hip-hop, R&B, Pop, Soul & musical theatre.

Have you been to see this universally acclaimed stage show?

Does it live up to the hype?

Are you wanting to see it?

Have you listened to the soundtrack?

This has been at the top of my list for a long time now. But tickets are so, SO hard to get. sad.gif

The songs are amazing. Such a unique take on the traditional musical theatre songs. 'It's Quiet Uptown' is beautifully TRAGIC. I am NOT ready to witness that live cry.gif

Finished this about a couple of hours ago and it's FANTASTIC. I'm so impressed it managed to live up to the hype I had! It's always nice getting an idea of historic events you have little-no idea about.

Renée Elise Goldsberry and Leslie Odom Jr are outstanding in particular!

Just watched this with the family! I can understand why tickets are so hard to get! It really is an epic and a take on musical theatre I've not seen before which really freshened up the story telling. I loved the revolving stage and I really enjoyed the use of the background dancers to add to the picture whilst not being too distracting. It was a bit overly long for me at two and half hours but it was great to learn about some American history and to see so many POC taking lead roles and so many songs come from a hip-hop background was great to see!

The rap battles in particular were brilliant! Jonathan Groff kinda stole the show whenever he appeared laugh.gif

O2 were offering a 6 month free subscription to Disney+ so I took them up on it just so I could watch this... and it did not disappoint! Such a great musical, I may be wrapped up in the moment just now but I think it may be the best one I've ever seen wub.gif

Stunning musical, just got around to seeing it, I've had early American history as a both a blindspot and an area of great interest, plus I love a good musical at the best of times.

George III was especially hilarious, I can relate.

The songs are incredible. I love the mix of hip-hop with the traditional theater musicality.

I'm going to watch this again shortly. Just so good cry.gif

I finally got around to seeing this last year (Went in March, the show got stopped halfway through due to casting issues and someone injuring themselves but re-booked for August) and it's just as fantastic actually seeing it presented on stage!

I'm going again this year in May and I really cannot wait! Probably my favourite show.
