Hello and welcome to Pixies, Aquafina. Y'all have been digging at your local home bargains and delivering the cheap entries. I'm FINALLY pleased to announce BJSC 77 is officially open after the moderators took their time to come to a decision on if they should bin your 10p local chicken and mushroom pot noodle. I'm also delighted to announce that 72 nations entered BJSC 77 which means this is the most successful BJSC to date which is also good news for Tinnmark who AQ along with Aquafina.

It seems like a kinda obv dnq but I'd be delighted if it surprised me, i felt like this was the last month to rly send it because it is so gorgeously summery and the hot weather is coming to a close, and the fact it would be veto worthy because it's already at 23 million views

I mean i don't want to keep battering the veto system (esp as everything else this contest is totally fine) but Alex Metric sticks out like a sore thumb and certainly wasn't entered in the spirit of the contest for discovering 'new music'.

None of the YouTube converters are letting me convert Tartford's video :/ I guess these 'Various Artists - Topic' videos must block that... there is a shorter 'preview' version that I can use though (although I'm not 100% sure it's the same version as there seems to be more than one 7th Heaven remix of the song 
)
EDIT: Found one that worked eventually. And probably downloaded about 700 viruses along the way.

Oh brilliant. Well at least this time I know for sure something went wrong through Zippyshare because I've just tested them again and they all work absolutely fine for me.
Let me try uploading to mega.co.nz instead as that worked last time... I thought they'd be okay this time because there's definitely nothing wrong with them on this end but that's clearly not the case.

Well, 'Search Party' was originally mine, I played it on plug and some members grabbed it (I guess you were one of them). It's quite sad to see that I'm going for a DNQ again, I thought this will be quite an easy Q. I think you have a lot better chance of Qing with 'Savages'.

I find the prep for Semi's to be by far the easiest. Once you've got your result. Run a random.org list to the numbers 1-20 in a random order then announce the qualifiers in that order. (so the winner would be #1 and just scraping through = 20).
There's no scoreboards to really worry about or anything so it can be a lot quicker.

More like 16-20 as Wall is hosting both semis
(and possibly even more than that because it's a larger contest). So many people always leave it to the last minute. Math usually leaves it until a few minutes after that.

Listening through this semi now and mostly the ones I already knew would be highlights are the highlights, but inserting some hype for Unovia, a bit of a stunner <3 Also hoping people can look past the fact it's from the 80s and get Singerpurear through again!

Listening through this semi now and mostly the ones I already knew would be highlights are the highlights, but inserting some hype for Unovia, a bit of a stunner <3 Also hoping people can look past the fact it's from the 80s and get Singerpurear through again!

I have voted. I love my Top 3, even though my 12 pointer is a song I found later on during the confirmations week but found out had already been taken, but overall I don't think the quality was as good as the last few semi-finals!

This week I have mostly been....
...hyping Farahtyn. Sounds like a hit to me. Apart from the obvious qualifiers (and there's quite a few good pop/dance bound to qualify) I would like to see New Lexico breeze through from the semi for standing out from the crowd, and Joedonia for a debut goodie.

Voted earlier on, this was a strange semi for me. Only a few I disliked or was indifferent to actually, but equally only a few I loved! A lot of them were good/very good so it was quite hard to separate them.

I can't help but agree.
Standards in 2015 have forced me to start sending some actual alternative stuff to rectify this from next month. I've been trawling through Animal Collective's pre-2004 back catalogue so it's gonna be along the lines of weird + interesting rather than the likes of Yeasayer/Korallreven who might be GOOD but they hardly charter new waters.

Because I have a very uneventful life and get way too excited than most people probably do over BJSC each month
plus I sent them in at like 1am and I never really do much past 10pm, so it was a good enough time for me to listen to my semi. I like to do it off of first listen as well rather than feeling like I need to wait a week for songs to grow on me, I pretty much base my votes off of the ones that grab my attention the most and the ones I instantly love, it's more fun that way

Nah I got the votes done fairly quickly but the comments and themerizing (? again) made it take a lot longer. Oh and as for my chart, I gotta listen to each one to rank them, as well as add several songs to my playlist and choose which of them to remove, as well as formatting, etc.
