Chart Analysis

Entering straight in at #1 to the surprise of absolutely no-one is Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa with 'One Kiss'. In doing so it becomes Calvin's seventh number one hit, a total which includes Cheryl's 'Call My Name' and his remix of Florence + The Machine's 'Spectrum' as Calvin received chart credits for those in this chart. However it is only the second of his to debut at the top, following 'This Is What You Came For' which spent its first six weeks in the chart at #1. His longest running #1 to date is 'My Way', which spent seven weeks at #1. 'One Kiss' follows 'Nuh Ready Nuh Ready' which debuted at #2 and spent two weeks there behind Rudimental's 'These Days' before quickly falling out of the top 40 as the hype faded. It now falls to this week's #62, whilst Calvin is also seen at #64 with 'The Weekend', his remix for SZA.

It's not all about Calvin though as guest vocalist Dua Lipa gets her first EVER number one. It follows top ten hits 'Be The One' (#10) and 'Scared To Be Lonely' (#4, with Martin Garrix) as well as her biggest hit to date in this chart, 'New Rules' (#16) which received the most longevity despite the lower peak. It is incredibly likely that 'One Kiss' will go on to outsell all of those in this chart however. Dua's most recent single 'IDGAF' could only reach #60, though it spent a respectable nine weeks in the chart.

Enough about Calvin now, let's talk about Drake. New single 'Nice For What' is unsurprisingly also a big new entry in this week's chart, and enters at #4, which also happens to be the peak position of 'God's Plan' (itself at #15 this week). It becomes his 13th top ten hit, and third this year also including 'Look Alive' (#10, and sits at #69 this week). TheFatRat falls from last week's #1 to #2 with 'MAYDAY', and Armin van Buuren falls a place to #3 with 'The Last Dancer'. No other songs enter the top ten.

The next new entry comes is the first hit for El Chombo, though only because his 'Chaccaron' pre-dates the chart. His highly anticipated comeback accompanies a hilarious video of a dancing green alien which quickly racked up millions of views after being uploaded to Ultra Music, though it had apparently been a meme on other sites for a few weeks prior. Anyway, 'Dame Tu Cosita' gives him a hit at #22.

Finally, Amy Miyú jumps into the top 40 with 'All Good' at #40, which features Rochelle. It is Amy's first hit and Rochelle's fourth. Despite there only being four new entries in the top 40, there are a whole lot outside. New arrivals from Mr. Belt & Wezol and Lucas & Steve enter straight in the top 50 and are looking to be future hits, with other new entries coming from Stadiumx, Sofi Tukker, JJD, Cardi B, Sandro Cavazza, Yxng Bane, Jay Hardway, Wolfgang Gartner, Ben Gold, Rich The Kid, MoStack and John Newman. Large climbs come from EDX, Shadow Child, Aly & Fila, Dimension, Sean Paul and Kylie Minogue.

So I'm not the only poster on here who charted New Rules lower than Be the One and Scared to Be Lonely! That's encouraging, somehow.
Great write-up, One Kiss will be coming for me soon too, although it has two strong competitors for that top spot.

Lots of long chart runs here too! That's different to how I do mine. My other top pick from here would be Stop Me From Falling!

I'm very happy that "One Kiss" is your #1, as it is my #1 as well, I hoped that this song would be great and it didn't disappoint me.
