Posted by: Cremey 4th September 2017, 03:18 PM

I'm thinking an Umbrella/We Found Love/Hard top 3?
I'm rubbish at predictions though haha.

Work should be top though, hope it does well.

Suck my cockiness, lick my persuasion

32 // 5.73 Bad (with Wale)
33 // 5.50 Cockiness [Love It] (feat. Asap Rocky)
34 // 5.37 Nothing Is Promised (with Mike-Will-Made-It)
35 // 5.23 Raining Men (feat. Nicki Minaj)
36 // 4.00 Roll It (with J Status)

'Roll It' finishes in last place with a paltry average of just 4.00. I wouldn't have put it there but not a shocker! The other songs in this section are the ones you'd expect tbh with them being ones that have historically got low rates on Buzzjack (Cockiness is a sex JAM though, y'all clearly aren't here for Rih's dominatrix). 'Bad' is the only one I genuinely had to go and listen to again before the rate though and loads of you marked it with an 'xx.x' and it clearly didn't leave a huge impression on the rest of y'all laugh.gif

no HUGE losses here I think most of us can agree!

Posted by: Cremey 5th September 2017, 12:33 AM

'Nothing is Promised' is by far my favourite of that lot but it's nothing special really.

Sometimes have a soft spot for 'Cockiness' but it's such a mess. Some of those lyrics though 👌🏼
i love it i love it i love it when you eat it

Posted by: all is vanity. 5th September 2017, 04:34 AM

I thought Cockiness would be higher, first surprise.

Posted by: Andrew. 5th September 2017, 09:56 PM

Don't f*** around

31 // 5.76 Right Now (feat. David Guetta)
30 // 5.89 Selfish (with Future)
29 // 5.98 Loveeeeeeee Song (feat. Future)
28 // 6.33 Birthday Cake (feat. Chris Brown)
27 // 6.52 ROCKSTAR 101 (feat. Slash)

I think y'all left your tastes somewhere outside this forum because a big NO to 3/5 of these mellow.gif I get 'Right Now' tbh, I bop to it but it's not the most exciting of songs and Jade's 'tumbledryer production' sums it up tbh laugh.gif I loveeeeee 'Birthday Cake', it's probably my second or third favourite in the rate but I gave it my 11 because I know it was generally disliked on here and I wanted it to rise a few more places ;o 'ROCKSTAR 101' and 'Loveeeeee Song' are great tracks, especially the latter but have never been particularly popular on here so that's no surprise, the production in Loveeeee Song is one of her best of all time though, so lush wub.gif 'Selfish' is the only one of the songs in this selection that hasn't really been put to the test previously and I do like it a lot but it's not one of her best so I wouldn't have put it too far higher!

Posted by: Andrew. 6th September 2017, 04:14 PM

I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to rise

26 // 6.57 Fly (with Nicki Minaj)
25 // 6.64 If I Never See Your Face Again (with Maroon 5)
24 // 6.69 Loyalty (with Kendrick Lamar)
23 // 6.90 Hate That I Love You (feat. Ne-Yo)
22 // 7.00 Too Good (with Drake)

I'm with the majority of the site on these songs tbh, none of them are really special or really bad so those scores seem fair!! 'Fly' is the most disappointing of this list though, like 'Raining Men' a Rih/Nicki collab should have me shook and gasping on the floor for air not...this ;o 'If I Never See Your Face Again' and 'Hate That I Love You' are both from the same Rih era and both ones I never go back to really, 'Loyalty' is okay but not a fave from Rih or Kendrick. 'Too Good' is the only one here I actually dislike, just nothing to it really and I honestly don't get how it smashed and KIB and LOTB flopped </3 It's the first song to get a 7+ average so it's more liked here than I thought ohmy.gif

Posted by: Josh! 6th September 2017, 04:17 PM

Some of my faves dropping out in that batch sad.gif I've always adored Fly, I know all the words and absolutely get my life to it every time I hear it. I wish they would collab again soon though because Raining Men was a BIG wasted opportunity.

I also quite like Loyalty (probably one of my favourite Kendrick tracks but I'm not really the biggest fan ever) and Too Good (but more before it got a bit old because of overplay, I don't go back to it very often now sad.gif)!

Posted by: Andrew. 7th September 2017, 03:03 PM

Going up to the top 15 tonight!!

Posted by: Spin 7th September 2017, 03:53 PM

Forgot to participate in this, but Hate That I Love You missing top 20 sob.gif it's quite a sweet song.

Fly as well is nice even if it got old fairly quickly.

Posted by: Andrew. 7th September 2017, 11:08 PM

I guess that's what I get for wishful thinking

21 // 7.14 The Monster (with Eminem)
20 // 7.26 Break It Off (feat. Sean Paul)
19 // 7.76 Rehab (feat. Justin Timberlake)

Biggest loss for me here is 'Rehab', what a gem <3 The other two are good but not ones I come back to really!!

(Going up to top 10 tomorrow, predictions? ohmy.gif)

Posted by: Spin 7th September 2017, 11:16 PM

The Monster is no LTWYL but come on buzzjack those two are great when they collab mad.gif

Posted by: Davidson 7th September 2017, 11:59 PM

'Rehab' out this early is a travesty.

Posted by: Andrew. 8th September 2017, 07:54 PM

I go back again, fall of the train, land in his bed

18 // 7.79 Live Your Life (with T.I)
17 // 7.81 FourFiveSeconds (with Kanye West and Paul McCartney)
16 // 7.95 Can't Remember To Forget You (with Shakira)

I bop to 'Live Your Life' but it's not really a fave and I wouldn't have it as high as this, definitely better than most of her early collaborations! (if you listen to some of them on Music Of The Sun/A Girl Like Me then you'll know what I'm talking about :')) 'FourFiveSeconds' has been an odd one for me, I legit HATED it for like a year and a half, part of that maybe because I was expecting Rih to come back with something amazing after having such a long break for her and it just fell a bit flat for me. sad.gif When I heard it initially on tour I groaned a bit and sat down but somehow it really came alive for me then and I actually like it now laugh.gif Not a favourite at all and I'd have maybe placed it a bit lower than this but I definitely underrated it when it came out!! 'Can't Remember To Forget You' is just a straight up bop, nothing more I can say about it really *.* The 'Key Of Awesome' parody is way better than the real video so I've put that up instead. x

Posted by: Andrew. 8th September 2017, 07:57 PM

15 songs are left:

Umbrella (feat. Jay Z)
Hard (feat. Jeezy)
What's My Name? (feat. Drake)
We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)
Talk That Talk (feat. Jay Z)
Princess Of China (with Coldplay)
Stay (feat. Mikky Ekko)
Work (feat. Drake)
Run This Town (with Jay Z and Kanye West)
Love The Way You Lie (with Eminem)
Who's That Chick? (with David Guetta)
Take Care (with Drake)
This Is What You Came For (with Calvin Harris)
Wild Thoughts (with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller)

Five more results tonight, any predictions? ohmy.gif

Posted by: Spin 8th September 2017, 08:18 PM

f***ing Work is still in drama.gif it's just lazy and repetitive vocal goals tbh

Live Your Life is a classic Rih moment music.gif FFS is boring so I'm glad it's out (The Him remix aside dance.gif ) CRTFY is only a couple of places lower than I'd maybe rank it biggrin.gif

Posted by: THEO. 8th September 2017, 08:23 PM

"Can't Remember to Forget You" is a TUNE.

Posted by: Fogarty 8th September 2017, 09:17 PM

Shame to see Live Your Life and Can't Remember To Forget You out.

Ughhhh NO. It's her best.

'FourFiveSeconds' I absolutely adore!
Pretty solid top 15, 'Who's That Chick' and 'Princess of China' to go first though please..

I'd agree with those, 'Who's That Chick' NEEDS to go. I don't dislike it but I just never come back to it, it's one of those songs where I honestly can't remember the last time I heard it laugh.gif

15-13 just coming now, and we'll try and go from there to #1 by the end of the weekend!

Posted by: Cremey 8th September 2017, 11:25 PM

Yeah I always forget about it! I doubt it's remembered much by the public either, despite it being quite a big hit.
I remember it was when she had three top 10s at the same time! ICON.

Truly the black Madonna

Posted by: Josh! 8th September 2017, 11:30 PM

Aww, I like all three of those but CRTFY is definitely too low. The song is so catchy and I remember being obsessed with the second verse sung by Rihanna when it was first released. Plus the video is so good, one of my favourite video by Rih actually, they both look so good in it *-*

Yay at you shouting out the Key of Awesome video for it too, I remember laughing so much at the frog in Shakira's throat joke laugh.gif

Posted by: Andrew. 8th September 2017, 11:39 PM

Lightning strikes everytime she moves

15 // 8.05 Who's that Chick? (with David Guetta)
14 // 8.10 All Of The Lights (with Kanye West)
13 // 8.17 This Is What You Came For

'All Of The Lights' is my favourite here tbh. I don't come back to it much and I'm not a particular fan of Kanye's music but Rih makes the song and it was another one that really came to life in the tour medley! 'Who's That Chick' is quite good, as I said it's one I never go back to so that's all I can really say laugh.gif I actually forgot 'This Is What You Came For' was still in this! ohmy.gif My least fave of the top 15, it's not bad per se but it just always failed to excite me, as much as I tried. sad.gif I love the video though, something about is absolutely STUNNING! <3

I couldn't resist kink.gif Definitely my favorite Rih parody haha, and one of my all time faves along with the 'Hello' one they did *.* I'm a ghost x

Posted by: Josh! 8th September 2017, 11:42 PM

As if This Is What You Came For is this low, I think that's set to be one of her defining tracks in years to come.. Would definitely have that in my top 10, it's undeniably catchy.

All of the Lights came on 4Music the other day and it was the first time I'd heard it in years but it sounded so good, the chorus is my highlight of the song for sure but the raps are really strong too. One of my favourite Kanye tracks with Black Skinhead, No Church in the Wild and Run this Town, I think. Rih and Kanye work really well together *-*

Posted by: Cremey 8th September 2017, 11:42 PM

'All of the Lights' 😍😍😍
My two absolute favourites together. They need to do more collaborations.

Big fan of 'This Is What You Came For' too, although I haven't listened to it much recently. I love the video too, the whole setup works really well and she looks incredible. That outfit 👌🏼

Posted by: Liаm 9th September 2017, 02:20 PM

Ew TIWYCF, worst song on this list.

All Of The Lights is so huge sounding, I don't go back to it as much as I should but when I do I always realise how bloody good it is.

Posted by: Andrew. 9th September 2017, 03:51 PM

We're kicking this off from 9pm tonight!! Predictions? ohmy.gif

Posted by: Spin 9th September 2017, 03:52 PM

TIWYCF is quite a distance from the massive jam on toast that is We Found Love but I still think I'd've preferred it to reach the top 10. WTC has to be a pretty big loss here so far though. Several years on and it's STILL a club classic wub.gif all you haters!! etc. laugh.gif I really enjoy AOFTL as well, especially the production although Rihanna doesn't give us her best vocals in it and I don't think there's many Kanye fans on here (I only like a handful of his songs anyway) so I'll let it pass kink.gif

Posted by: Atonement 9th September 2017, 07:03 PM

LTWYL out right now please thanks

Posted by: Andrew. 10th September 2017, 03:11 PM

1 and 2 and 3 and 4, come and let me know if you want some more

12 // 8.19 Talk That Talk (feat. Jay Z)
11 // 8.21 Princess Of China (with Coldplay)

'Talk That Talk' and 'Princess Of China' just miss out on a place in the top 10!! I'd have placed TTT in the top 10 tbh, it's great fun and a catchy bop even if Jay Z's rap is one of the most cringeworthy things I've ever heard :') TTT managed to get to #25 on it's album release week and #17 on iTunes but when it was actually a single it had no video and little promo so only managed to return to #25 and left the chart pretty quickly, but still managed to get a silver certification

'Princess Of China' I really like but it's just something I don't come back to really, the video is incredible though and a Rih video highlight for sure! *.* It's clearly well liked on here as it nearly managed to get top 10, but what is that top 10? ohmy.gif

Posted by: Andrew. 10th September 2017, 03:12 PM

Hard (feat. Jeezy)
Love The Way You Lie (with Eminem)
Run This Town (with Jay Z and Kanye West)
Stay (feat. Mikky Ekko)
Take Care (with Drake)
Umbrella (feat. Jay Z)
We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)
What's My Name? (feat. Drake)
Wild Thoughts (with DJ Khaled)
Work (feat. Drake)

Kicking off tonight~

Posted by: THEO. 10th September 2017, 04:55 PM

For two fairly credible artists, "Talk That Talk" is really cringey. It's still a banger tho.

EXCITED for the top ten! ;o

It's just that rap lmao, I think the 'peeing' lines etc are supposed to be funny but we really don't need to know x

Posted by: SouthsideSpinner 10th September 2017, 05:18 PM

I'd rank those two about 8.5/9 out of 10.

Posted by: THEO. 10th September 2017, 05:55 PM

I'm addicted to the thrill, it's a dangerous love affair

10 // 8.29 Run This Town (with Jay Z and Kanye West)
9 // 8.31 Work (feat. Drake)

Kicking off the top ten is "Run This Town", Rih's second collaboration with Jay Z and first with Kanye West. The track was released in summer 2009 when thirst for Rihanna's comeback album (Rated R) was at an all-time high. "Run This Town" preceded the singles from that album, with many thinking it would be the lead at the time. It's an incredible slice of urban Rihanna and was one of the first times that we really started to hear growth in her vocals after what many considered a couple of 'whinier' albums (as seen in the live video as the official one is not on YouTube x). I think this is probably the first time that I really started to stan hard for Rihanna and I'm glad many of you consider it as highly as I do.

It became her third UK #1 single in three years and peaked at #2 in the US.

Now we're talking about comeback singles, "Work" is the one to top them all. Almost a year since Rih released "Bitch Better Have My Money" and still no news of an album, we patiently waited into 2016 for the release of "Work" and Anti shortly afterwards, which did not disappoint. It was the perfect re-introduction to Pop's #2 couple and shows off Rihanna's personality perfectly, so much so that she gave us two videos for the song! In terms of production, it was a slight foray away from the dance banger that led us into previous campaigns, although the chorus is still as enjoyable as ever.

"Work" was Rihanna's third collaboration with Drake and became her 14th(!) Billboard Hot 100 #1 single while it was yet another song to peak at #2 in the UK.

Posted by: SouthsideSpinner 10th September 2017, 06:16 PM

FINALLY laugh.gif

Run This Town is a tune! music.gif glad it has recognition in here. I'm surprised actually biggrin.gif

Shoulda rated to give Work my -1 heehee.gif

Posted by: Andrew. 10th September 2017, 08:18 PM

But it's alright because I love the way you lie, I love you way you lie

8 // 8.45 Take Care (with Drake)
7 // 8.50 Love The Way You Lie (with Eminem)

Falling out in 8th place is 'Take Care' Rih's 2012 collaboration with Drake. It was released in late 2011 and actually got to it's peak within two weeks but it stuck around and ended up spending an incredible 26 weeks in the top 40 and going platinum! 'Take Care' is another song I need to appreciate more, as with Princess Of China/etc I really like it but it's a song that often slips outta my mind and I hardly ever listen to it sad.gif Rih's chemistry with Drake really shows in the video and she received much acclaim for her part in the package.

'Love The Way You Lie' is an incredibly emotional track with Eminem, the chorus still gets me every time somehow <3 Some stans speculated it threwback to Chris Brown's disgusting assault on her and if so we can only IMAGINE how hard that must have been to sing about. A Part 2 of the song was released on the Loud album with more Rih and less Eminem which is what I listen to 90% of the time, I love the song so much but Eminem's vocals kinda ruin it for me so I kinda have to if I want to enjoy it laugh.gif LTWYL peaked at #2 but became the best selling song of 2010, the only time she's had the best selling song in a year!!

Posted by: Atonement 10th September 2017, 08:21 PM

'Take Care' is amazing wub.gif.

'Love the Way You Lie' is trash (Part II is very enjoyable though). 'What's My Name?' next to leave pls.

Posted by: THEO. 10th September 2017, 08:32 PM

I don't really listen to "Love the Way You Lie" very much any more, I was surprised that she performed it on the Anti tour (although I enjoyed it live!)

Posted by: Mack. 10th September 2017, 08:38 PM

Was it the first best selling song of the year not to reach #1 in the UK. Regarding Love The Way You Lie?

Posted by: THEO. 10th September 2017, 08:41 PM

white girl wasted on brown liquor, I probably shouldn't be around you

6 // 8.55 Wild Thoughts (with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller)

Just missing out on a place in the top five is Rih's most recent collaboration with producer of-the-moment DJ Khaled (and some guy named Bryson Tiller). It's based heavily around a sample of Santana's "Maria Maria" (which I hadn't heard when I first heard this) and features some of Rihanna's most outrageous lyrics since..."Work"?! It's a huge banger and is one of my absolute favourite songs of this summer. The video is also ridiculous with her sporting a variety of interesting outfits.

It became Rihanna's first UK #1 single since "The Monster" and has so far peaked at #2 for seven consecutive weeks in the US, only her third to peak there surprisingly!

Posted by: Andrew. 10th September 2017, 09:48 PM

something in the way you move

5 // 8.71 Stay (feat. Mikky Ekko)

Just making a top 5 place is 'Stay' featuring Mikky Ekko! (idk either) 'Stay' is a beautiful ballad which is about struggling to resist true love. This is one I didn't really care that much before before I saw it live in the DWT, and even more when it opened the ANTI world tour! heart.gif It came alive for me then, her coming in singing it in that cloak is something I'll always remember *.*

Posted by: Josh! 10th September 2017, 09:51 PM

Wild Thoughts is already one of my favourite Rihanna collaborations so I'm glad it's so high here despite being so recent. Bryson Tiller's part is great but it's definitely Rih who steals the show for me, she looks flawless in the video too wub.gif

I've never liked Stay really. I can see why people do enjoy it but I find the chorus pretty boring and I'm not keen on the feature really either, there were way better songs on Unapologetic in my opinion even though it was clearly a good single choice as it did so well for her charts wise. Guess it's just me laugh.gif

Yeah this was the first time 'Wild Thoughts' has been in a rate I think so great to see it so high! I was the same as you regarding 'Stay' but on the tour it went off (sounds weird for a ballad ik but people who went to DWT/AWT you'll get me ;o) and it's not something I listen to much these days but I can appreciate it if that makes sense laugh.gif

4 // 9.00 Hard (feat. Jeezy)

One of my Rih faves, such an urban bop *.* I was quite taken aback when I heard 'Hard' on the Rated R album as it was SUCH a different step for her but it's grown into an all time fave since!

'Hard' was a huge risk for Rih in 2009 and commercially it was mixed, it only peaked at #42 in the UK (my country ha taste :shakingcheeseblock:) but was a double platinum top 10 hit in the US!

What a song!

the square root of 69 is 8 some, right, 'cause I've been tryna work it out

3 // 9.10 What's My Name? (feat. Drake)

In bronze medal position is the song that kicked off the world's longest running will-they/won't-they love affair, that of Robyn Fenty and Aubrey Graham. This isn't my favourite of their collaborations but I remember really loving it at the time. It was released in the middle of Rihanna-overload season (see below) so I think that's why I don't have as much love for it now (though I do love Drake's rap).

The song was the second single to be released from Loud and made US chart history when it hit #1 before "Only Girl (in the World)", the first time in the Hot 100's history that this occurred. It later spent a week at #1 in the UK in early 2011, one of three Rihanna songs in the top 10 at the time, and was her first of two #1s that year...

BOP, I've always been way too harsh on it saying it's overrated etc but I think I'd forgotten how infectious that chorus really is *.*

Umbrella vs. We Found Love

What will win...ohmy.gif

yellow diamonds in the light, now we're standing side by side

2 // 9.21 We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)

So here is your number two Rihanna collaboration! The first of many collaborations with Calvin Harris and what a way to start the best R&B/Dance musical partnership of all time! There have been so many moments involving this song, it's by far Rihanna's most iconic song to date and is perhaps the definition of lit. The post-chorus breakdown never fails to get me going *.* It was one of two Calvin productions on parent album Talk That Talk, although the second ("Where Have You Been") doesn't hold as many memories for me and feels a lot more Calvin-by-numbers.

It's arguably her biggest solo hit to date, becoming one of her four illusive UK million sellers and went 9x Platinum in the US.

This was also the song that broke Calvin through in the US big-time, becoming his first of four top tens to date, his most recent being his latest Rihanna collab, "This Is What You Came For".

Said I'll always be a friend, took an oath I'ma stick it out 'til the end

1 // 9.55 Umbrella (feat. Jay Z)

The winner of the Rih forums collab rate therefore is 'Umbrella'!!!! cheer.gif What else could it be tbh. An iconic moment in pop, just an incredible pop song really with no gimmicks and a lovely message of friendship. She's done way better since but it was this song which propelled Rih into the star she is now and still one of her most remembered songs.

Great winner and a pretty solid top ten more or less! Although I prefer "We Found Love", calling it a collaboration is stretching the term a bit, so I'm glad another of her all-time classixx won. Great job Andrew, glad I could help and thanks to everyone for contributing! biggrin.gif

Quite a predictable top 2 I think, they're both so undeniable though.
I'd have preferred a 'We Found Love' win but 'Umbrella' is still HUGE. It'll always be one of her signature tracks for a reason heart.gif
